Fantastic news, Bunny!!! Grin

Bunnygirlie · 10/02/2014 13:46

Thank you thank you thank you lovely berries x

So what do we think will come first, my 12 week scan or the first berry baby of the next generation?!?!?

So now I am admitting this is real, can anybody recommend any books or apps?

Brodicea · 10/02/2014 14:50

Yay bunny Grin

Pregnancy books I bought which were useful: The Mumsnet one, and Modern Girls Guide to Pregnancy.

DH got this and it's supposed to be good www.amazon.co.uk/The-Expectant-Dads-Handbook-pregnancy/dp/0091948045/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1392043793&sr=8-2&keywords=dads+baby+book

Bunny, I like the 'I'm expecting' app - a convenient way to track weight, symptoms, notes etc.

There are lots of email lists out there with weekly updates - NHS, NCT have been useful so far, though I've tried to be careful not to sign myself up to anything that's going to spam me. In a slightly paranoid precaution but I set up a separate email address for all pregnancy related stuff so I could stop getting all of these emails instantly if anything went wrong.

'Expecting better' is a really good book to help you work through some of the evidence on various bits of pregnancy advice. I also came across a lovely book called Precious Babies, on pregnancy etc after infertility, which really helped me process some of the emotional differences between pregnancy after infertility compared with conceiving quickly.

(Can you tell I've been spending a lot of time stuck on the sofa lately?)

PuppyMummy · 10/02/2014 18:18

excellent news bunny Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 10/02/2014 19:12

Ha bunny you'll have to talk to merk and thunder about the first berry babies, mine aren't even in the race better not be

This website is good especially in the first trimester, I found it helped me connect a bit more because I knew what was going on daily. I got Mr Boom 'The Bloke's Guide to Pregnancy' last time round, but having actually read it it's dreadful, full of generalisations and myths re-packaged as fact, written by someone who hasn't got a clue.

Just walked the dogs for the third time today and starting to really feel like a fatty preggo now. Had to stop every few steps on the way back to let the underbump stitch subside!

Tallyra · 10/02/2014 19:15

Yay bunny!!!!!Grin

Jess, everyone who has gone through HG gets worried when the symptoms stop. Mine was about 14w and I was lucky because of my scans being so regular. You are fine, I'm sure there's nothing wrong but I know your 12w scan will help your head.

Tallyra · 10/02/2014 19:17

You'll be before me though boom even though our dates are so close! Who else is before us? Is it Kat?

Boomgoestheweasel · 10/02/2014 19:28

Yep, she's earlyish April I think. I'm going to cross my legs and make you go first Tally! Aiming for 40wk twins Grin

Thunderpantsarego · 10/02/2014 20:55

Phhhbbb boom I reckon it'll go merk, you, me... If I'm not overtaken by even more folk!

34 week appt today and all seems well Smile

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/02/2014 21:29

Happy to go first! Though with pelvis in the wrong place for baby to engage I may be after quite a lot of you!
Bunny I bought what to expect when you're expecting and never really read it. Happy to send it to you. I'm kind of the opinion now that you can read/learn too much, but I doubt I would have listened if somebody had told me that at the start!

Foodylicious · 10/02/2014 21:34

Woah, thats going to be few of you at once! so far ahead... yay thunder Smile 34 weeks is another 3 months away for me!Shock

Thunderpantsarego · 10/02/2014 21:54

merk might nature just take over and sort baby out to engage? I'm relying on that seeing as I don't have any other information to know what's going on in there.

BlindKitty · 10/02/2014 21:57

Oh bunny I'm so pleased for you. Did you cry? Did you get a pic?

Dh and I are arguing over nursery furniture atm. Angry I'm winning just so you know... Wink

OP posts:
Thunderpantsarego · 10/02/2014 22:00

Oo what's the argument, kitty?

BlindKitty · 10/02/2014 22:21

Uh we've bought some furniture for the nursery but it doesn't fit so I want to move the drawers downstairs so I don't feel like a sardine in there and he wants to leave it all squashed in!!! I've dreamt about this nursery for years. It's only right I should get my own way...isn't it???

Bunnygirlie · 10/02/2014 22:27

Thanks everyone x

thunder 34 weeks, Crikey that seems so far away at present!

kitty I did have a little tear in my eye! Hubby seemed in shock for a while. And yes we have a pic Smile

Foodylicious · 10/02/2014 22:48

kitty my OH has resigned himself to the fact for all things bump and baby related he is allowed to have an opinion, but he does not have a 'say' in what actually happens Grin
These were his words, not mine!

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/02/2014 23:00

It seems with the angle my pelvis is at baby can't go any lower so probably won't happen.
Kitty keep arguing. I got told multiple times by MIL that I had to have drawers in the nursery but I didn't want any... I'm having a wardrobe and shelving with boxes instead. Sure baby won't mind and if I want to hang the baby clothes up I don't see why I can't!

BlindKitty · 11/02/2014 07:00

bunny they let me video it! Fyi once uou get to the antenatal unit they don't! I burst into tears and then started laughing when I realised I was crying with a dildocam between my legs haha!

foody bizarrely Dh has said that too!

merk I'm buying more drawers that will actually fit haha! FYI Dh loved that one when I told him! Basically we should have just done our measurements before we bought everything but we just got a bit carried away!

OP posts:
Thunderpantsarego · 11/02/2014 07:38

kitty yeah absolutely right, you definitely get to call the shots with the nursery - stick to your guns!

That's not cool merk, hope you can get pelvis sorted. I guess I might have something like that too and just not know about it?

bunny yes I know what you mean- being in the thirties seems so far away at the beginning, feels bloody amazing to get there tho, even tho I feel far from bloody amazing physically! Just over 2 weeks left at work now too Smile

Tallyra · 11/02/2014 08:19

I'm in 2 minds about finishing work. I have 4 weeks left after half term (or it could be 3) but I'm not sure what I'll do once I stop. walk dog and fret about the nursery that isn't anywhere near sorted and sit around getting lonely. I need a plan!!!

MotherOfCleo · 11/02/2014 08:35

tally you will probably do like I did, walk heaps I went on a 6km+ walk trying to get bubs engaged when I was 38 weeks drink lots of rasberry leaf tea, eat curry, decide to dtd even though logistically it's rather tricky and wonder if its worth eating your body weight in pineapple to encourage the little one to make an entrance. Turns out I am not a patient person Blush Confused

Thunderpantsarego · 11/02/2014 08:48

I can't wait to have some time to myself! Sleeping and chilling out, gentle walks and getting my house sorted. Sounds like bliss to me, especially as every day is such hard work now.

MotherOfCleo · 11/02/2014 08:57

Enjoy it thunder, I loved pottering and walking, seeing friends etc. I did have odd nesting urges though, for example I decided to sort out our tupperware cupboard.....random!
I do recommend cooking up some meals for the freezer while you're off, I did about 10 days worth, they actually got used more once my OH was back at work as it was one less thing to have to do during the day, but we did have a couple of crazy days where having food ready to heat up was a saviour.
