Hiya, I had a positive test last weekend and looking for some ladies in the same situation to share symptoms and worries with.

p.s. Yes - this is a very precious time for me. This time last year I was preparing for my first major cancer surgery. I never thought I would get to this point. I am still walking around with a silly massive grin most of the time!

Hatteras · 04/02/2014 19:44

time what a wonderful way to see what a difference a year makes. Hopefully this time next year we will all be cuddling our little 3 month old babies!
I have seen the ante-natal board for Oct 2014, but really not ready to make the leap over yet. I'm not even sure I feel ready to be on this board! I have had absolutely no symptoms today, not a twinge, no longer feeling bloated, nothing. I know it doesn't mean anything is wrong, it's just really hard and driving me crazy!

time2deal · 04/02/2014 19:48

No symptoms today for me either. Other than yawns, and terrible insomnia this morning. I have resisted today, but might do a reassurance test tomorrow morning.
Although I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but I think I can smell more. Not in a bad way, just everything smells stronger. I walk past shops and can smell the food cooking! And on the tube I could smell the individual perfumes of people as they went by. Weird.

PervyMuskrat · 04/02/2014 20:00

time wow, what a 12 months for you! Thanks

I had the dating scan today and all looked well so I'm so relieved! Just waiting on the blood test results and then I'll be happy to drag out my maternity clothes as I'm already massive! Grin

Hatteras · 04/02/2014 20:07

Weird and potentially gross if you start smelling everyone on the Tube!

Clinic just called to say my HCG levels are doubling/looking ok and so we now have a scan at the end of next week, when in theory I should be 6.5 weeks. Excited but terrified!

No doubt everyone has already been looking up their EDD etc, but I found this to be a really nice IVF specific date calculator where you can see all the different stage of development/trimesters etc: www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/index.php?ac=ivf

time2deal · 04/02/2014 20:12

Gives me 8 October. What is your date? I think we are in sync. I'm five weeks tomorrow.

time2deal · 04/02/2014 20:15

My oncologist wrote to me today. Said congrats and gave me the name of a high risk pregnancy obstetrician who I will get in touch with tomorrow.
He also reminded me not to neglect my follow ups, and to book an MRI this month as I'm 1 year from treatment. Suddenly very worried about that! I know two others who have already had a recurrance.

Will probably be an amazing scan of the baby though! Now I'm off to research MRI risks.

Hatteras · 04/02/2014 20:18

I'm the 7th October, 5 weeks today, so just a day ahead of you. I tried a different calculator too and it gave me the same date, so that's what I am going with for (it's also my dad's birthday which I'm taking to be a good sign! I know it is really pretty meaningless, but happy to grab all and any positive omens right now!)

pervy, yay for a good dating scan!

Hatteras · 04/02/2014 20:24

time I can't imagine how you must feel dealing with early pregnancy nerves and everything else you have been through. It sounds as though you have medical people on both sides monitoring you/on the ball which is good.

Have you told any family/friends yet about the pregnancy? We haven't yet, not sure when we will...probably at about 39 weeks the way I am feeling about not wanting to jinx anything!

time2deal · 04/02/2014 20:25

My date is our wedding anniversary! And my LMP was 1.1.14. Lovely dates I think. With no cervix the estimated delivery will be between 32-36 weeks, so most likely will be earlier than full term - but I'm sticking with 8.10 as my EDD!

time2deal · 04/02/2014 20:30

Hat I've told my immediate family, and DH has just told his parents. I decided I would tell them if it fails, so they may as well know while it's going well. My life is a pretty open book - I did a blog about the cancer, although I've not really told people too much about the real heartache of long term TTC.
I'm worrying about how to tell a few people. My cousin had a 10 week miscarriage a few months ago, and it hit her hard. I am wondering if I should give her a heads up. I always found it so hard when people announced they were pregnant, and you have to put on an excited smile, when you feel like you have been punched in the stomach.

Hatteras · 04/02/2014 20:32

It's a sign! Grin. I'm also sticking with 07/10 even though I know babies hardly ever arrive on their EDD.

Expectingtwins1975 · 04/02/2014 20:43

Time2deal - ridiculous sense of smell was one of my first symptoms - hasn't gone away yet it's horrendous - people's perfume makes me gag. Had to switch to fragrance free everything - and make my DP change his deodorant ec

Ellie36 · 04/02/2014 20:51

Hey :)

We were trying for almost 3 years (with a tour to Afghanistan in the middle!) and had just about given up/started to talk about other options when we got a very surprising BFP on 2nd January - after a rather boozy Christmas, oops!. Still not feeling real but first scan next Tuesday so hopefully that will make it seem like it is actually happening!

Hope everyone is feeling ok :)

time2deal · 04/02/2014 21:21

Can I just say a big thank you to Bob Crow! I'm working from home now for two days due to the tube strike. I see a bit of sleeping in in my future. :)

Bunnygirlie · 05/02/2014 08:28

Morning ladies, sorry I've been absent the last few days, busy busy busy.

time what a year you've had, you must be over the moon

hat glad your levels are increasing!

I used a different EDD calculator and got October 5th. That just seems really scary!

hat we haven't told anybody yet, parents and 2 close friends know we have been trying and know we are on the ivf list but don't know we have actually had it already!

Congrats ellie

Symptom wise, I am ridiculously tired all the time even though I seem to be sleeping ok. Life is a bit of a struggle at the mo

Morning ladies. After no symptoms really yesterday I allowed myself a test today. It was so strong it sucked almost all the color from the control line! Very reassuring.

Bunnygirlie · 05/02/2014 18:25

Nice time I do like seeing the lines getting darker. I haven't done one since saturday so am tempted to try one myself!

Got out of the car too quickly today and had a major ouchy twinge, need to take it slow me thinks!

Hatteras · 06/02/2014 15:47

Hello, how is everyone doing? Time I hope you are enjoying your commute-free couple of days.

I currently have absolutely zero in the way of symptoms and I would be lying if I said it wasn't freaking me out a little. We have some potential house move stresses going on at the moment which are totally taking over my head space (which may be a good thing) and I almost find myself forgetting I am pregnant. I just really don't have any symptoms at all right now, maybe a little bit more tired than normal, but no more twinges, nothing! I suppose it may be too early (5w2d), I think I started feeling nauseous from about 6 weeks when I had the MMC. I know there is nothing I can do about it, we have the scan a week today, I think I would just feel reassured if I was feeling anything at all!

time2deal · 06/02/2014 19:21

I ended up going on today. Probably not a great decision as it took hours to get home! But home now. Symptoms seemed to have eased off for me too, but I'm convincing myself that last week everything was exacerbated by stress, so now it's calming down. Some quite strong pains in my hip/lower stomach area that are worrying me. I read last night about ectopics!!

Dh is making me dinner. :)

I'm in a bit of a grump... Which is definitely hormonal. Angrier than I needed to be over little things!

Bunnygirlie · 06/02/2014 19:51

Hiya.

Symptom wise the tiredness is a killer, not having as many twinges now untill I tried to get out the car quickly yesterday and something went ouch!

When are your early scans ladies? Mine is the 10th

OP posts:
Hatteras · 06/02/2014 20:00

Early scan is next week, on the 13th, will be 6w2d. I have been reading a bit about 6w scans and how often they can be a bit too early to see anything, so could be inconclusive.

time2deal · 06/02/2014 20:03

My scan with the clinic isn't until 27 Feb!! Feels ages away. I did book in with the local maternity services yesterday, and I'll get an appointment letter in 10 days apparently. I'll be referred then to the high-risk pregnancy team too.

I found out my private health insurance doesn't cover me for pregnancy, so I was a bit worried, as I really want a specialist in my condition. My oncologist recommended his 'favourite' guy, and it turns out he heads up the high risk pregnancy unit at my local NHS hospital! So I'm really pleased about that.

Bunnygirlie · 07/02/2014 12:43

Oh hat you got me googling 6 week scans and now I am dreading Monday and not being able to see anything Sad
Might have to treat myself to a 9 week one!

ooh time that is ages away, how many weeks will you be then?

Think the MS has kicked in, felt proper rough the past 2 mornings booooooo

OP posts:
time2deal · 07/02/2014 14:37

Bunny I'll be 8 weeks. Which is probably a good length of time really - enough to be sure you'll see something, but not as long as 12 weeks.

I think we have similar symptoms. Main one is fatigue, and constant yawning, but also random twingey pains when getting up. I'm going to do my last digi tomorrow and hopefully see the magic 3+ appear to give me comfort.
