Baby boy clothes depress me

Why oh why is it all so same-y and so unimaginative?

Almost always pale blue or navy or grey, with trucks/dinosaurs/cars design on it or some horrid cheesy slogan like 'cheeky monkey' or 'cool dude'. What happened to other colours?

In comparison, all the baby girl clothes I see are lovely. Yes, there's lots of pink stuff, but there's also lots of other colours and designs. I remember before DD was born I thought the girls clothes were too girly but it now seems to have gone the other way Hmm

Maybe I'll just dress him like a girl...

I never knew boy-tights could be such a contentious issue.

This thread has certainly put me off discussing baby wear for a long time!

Have you ever worn tights under trousers? The friction between the two fabrics is horrible.
Probably not bad on a tiny baby because they don't do much but on a crawling baby uncomfortable.
My DC (male and female) often became enraged with tights.

BEEwitched · 21/01/2014 13:11

I always wore tights under ski suits as a girl, it never bothered me - it's not like they're lycra, they're cotton which feels nicer.

I really like them with shorty dungarees.

HaroldLloyd · 21/01/2014 13:11

They don't wear the same sort of tights though, DS has cotton ones and lined joggers or dungarees,

Women's trousers and tights are different, you would probably start a bush fire with those.

I've worn leggings under jeans before and they were ok, when I was on a cold holiday.

I think we need a whole new topic for the boy tights Grin

Are you insinuating my kecks are nylon Harold Grin

TitsalinaBumSquash · 21/01/2014 13:33

My DS has 'boy' tights from H&M, my son will not keep anything sock or shoe based on his bloody feet so he wears tights, they're striped blue and white, grey with frogs, brown with lions and blue with trains on them. Smile

Grin That says a lot about the quality of my hosiery actually!
