Ladies I am having a major wobble and need a slap with a wet fish, I blame my over anxious state. Sorry in advance for TMI so early in the morning.
We DTD last night for the first time in months. I have laid awake most of the night worrying and terrified what if we got pregnant and would have 3 babies under 1. OMG!!!! This is even though we couldn't concieve naturally after year of trying at the optimum times of the month, using ovulation kits etc and then having failed IVF due to lack of my own eggs and having to use donated eggs for this successful cycle. I know the odds are very much against it but what if.............

I am going to have to get myself to chemist for morning after pill otherwise I will be demented for the next 2 weeks waiting. Ahhhh

MotorcycleMama · 22/01/2014 12:26

Hi sweetie - sorry you are having a wobble. I would say that you are probably right to get the morning after pill if you want to be absolutely sure of not getting pregnant. That way you can eliminate this added anxiety which it sounds like you could really do without at the moment. I have certainly heard of people who have conceived naturally after IVF. I can't remember whether you are breastfeeding or not, and I know that reduces fertility, but not totally. Hope this helps.

keepitgoing · 22/01/2014 14:45

sweetie though I think the chances are slim -a month post birth, especially - that's not really the point and if it'll make you anxious just get the map. that'd be one ironic bfp!!! x

OnionRing · 22/01/2014 14:50

sweetie you are very very unlikely to be pregnant. But get the pill if it makes you feel better and then I'd seriously consider an implant or mirena. You can have it removed if you feel differently in time but it will give you peace of mind about that issue for the moment. You've got enough anxiety for now!

Ringlet is ok today. I cannot believe she could be that hot and then ok today, she's clingy but not actually ill.

ceara hope it's all over and you're snuggling up with your little one.

The FB group is great for photos. I've really enjoyed looking at all the thread babies.

OnionRing · 22/01/2014 14:52

If it's any consolation sweetie I think you could make a few quid by flogging your tale to Take a Break...

SweetieTime · 22/01/2014 19:06

Thanks all for your advice. I have taken map just in case, DH thinks I am bonkers after all we have been through. It would have been the most ironic of ironic BFPs but these things do happen. I am not sure selling my story to Take a Break would have softened it any either.

ceara hope today has gone well for you and you are resting with your new baby in your arms.

Dildals · 22/01/2014 22:49

I have been harbouring secret thoughts of another pregnancy. Contrary to Sweetie I would quite fancy Irish twins. I have been feeling nauseous for a couple of weeks and developed a taste for oranges again (my pregnancy craving). I POAS and it was negative though. Wishful thinking I guess.

OnionRing · 23/01/2014 13:31

I've not heard that expression for ages! It's a hard one though. I've never managed to be ttc without becoming totally obsessed with it.

ExpatAl · 23/01/2014 15:42

Crisps, am thinking of you.

SweetieTime · 23/01/2014 15:42

Dildals that is really bizarre symptom and it is each to their own on this sort of thing but I can understand it each way

Onions I became quite obsessed too but can imagine I will be the opposite now. Also are you going to do us a list of medicines we should have to our babies? So far I have the snuffle stuff and infacol. I am not sure if we should get some gripe water as E seems to have terrible wind and sometimes seems reluctant to have her bottle.

keepitgoing · 23/01/2014 16:12

sweetie my mum brought some gripe water for her wind. led to one and only projectile vomit Grin. not a fan!!

keepitgoing · 23/01/2014 16:13

S's wind, not my mum's...

SweetieTime · 23/01/2014 16:13

keep thanks for the advice, I might give it a miss then!!

fairypangolin · 23/01/2014 16:19

I craved oranges while pg too! Definitely not craving Irish twins though ( I love that expression!)

ceara hope you are enjoying newborn cuddles now.

crisps hope you've had a few more not shit days. X

Shazzamattazzerly · 23/01/2014 22:20

Hello ladies

DP is out so we are having a girls night in. Am feeling particularly proud as I gave shazlett a bath on my own for the first time. It was not too bad. She didn't cry that much!

Lissbug congratulations on your pregnancy. Very exciting. And yes also very worrying especially if you have had such a tough time. I'm so sorry for your losses. I'm not able to help re meds as I ended up finding out I was pregnant naturally after I'd already started IVF treatment. They still gave me the pessaries until 8 weeks though. Good luck with it all.

Sweetie I hope you are feeling more relaxed. You have had abit of a time of it haven't you? How was your appt today? As I said on Fb, I am feeling better but the lady was very helpful to talk to. We talked about worry management. I am going to the hospital for a follow up appt in a month.

Expat oops that mil was on your iPad. I wouldn't want my mum or mil poking around on my MN app!

Onion I'm trying size 3 nappies. They go from 4-9kg. Shazlett is just over 4.5kg so at the lower end of the size. Size 2 go up to 6kg I think so there is a crossover. The size 2s seemed tight though and the poo explosions were so frequent I thought that maybe they were too small. Admittedly the size 3s are big. She looks cute though in just a huge nappy! What do you think caused ringlets temp?

Ceara I hope you are your men are settling into life together.

Dildals Irish twins? I don't know what that means. I've never heard it before. I can't believe you had to PdOAS already. That must have felt strange. Did your heart slow down as you waited for the lines? Gosh I can't imagine seeing 2 lines at the moment.

Shazlett fell asleep late for her evening nap and is still asleep. I'm going to attempt a dream feed. I want to go to bed.

We have 8 week jabs tomorrow. I'm so nervous. I'm also supposed to be talking at the MW led ante natal class in the afternoon so I hope shazlett isn't too grumpy afterwards. It's the 'what if' class. I guess I'm a good example of what can happen when you go off birth plan!

Dildals · 24/01/2014 08:36

Irish twins are children of the same mother that are less than a year apart. My neighbour, pregnant with no 6, effectively has a flush of Irish twins!

The PAOS was rather matter of fact, I knew rationally that it was incredibly unlikely, but I just wanted to make sure, because I had been doing things a pregnant lady wouldn't be doing (drinking, eating cheese etc).

Good luck with the jabs! On Shazzlett in her size 3 nappies I have one word: HAMMERTIME!

Shazzamattazzerly · 24/01/2014 14:24

"Da da da da can't touch this"

Jabs got cancelled. Bummer. Now we have to wait til 10th feb. but she had her 8 wk appt with GP and all fine. Weight 4.64 kg 25th percentile. Oh and MrsH head 39! I can't remember what you said missyhy was.

Also Like MissyHY there is nap avoidance going on today. Tsk tsk shazlett! We are going to speak at the antenatal class this afternoon. The topic is 'what if' and I think we are shining examples of things not going to plan!

Irish twins eh? Well you learn something every day!

SweetieTime · 24/01/2014 19:03

Shazza sorry the jabs were cancelled but it sounds like N is doing very well. Hope Shazlett managed a nap before the ant natal class, how did it go?

I have another question for all you new Mummies. Did any of you lose your appetite? and if so when did it return?

Mine has completely disappeared and I am now really fussy what I do eat. I find myself getting quite stressed as meal times approach as I don't want to eat. I have NEVER felt like this before and have always really enjoyed my food probably a bit too much I do make myself eat meals but it is a real effort. I am not sure if it is a control thing and it is one of the things I feel I can still control. Gosh it is just another thing that makes me feel like I am cracking up.

ExpatAl · 24/01/2014 19:43

Sweetie you are not cracking up. You are a new knackered mum to twins with severe sight problems. Any one of those things could make you lose your appetite! Do you think it might be an idea to chat with the doctor who prescribed your medication? Hugs xx

Shazzamattazzerly · 24/01/2014 19:44

Hello sweetie I haven't lost my appetite. In the beginning I was famished all the time but that has died down and I'm eating pretty normally. However when I'm anxious I do lose my appetite. You have an awful lot on your plate at the moment. New twins are enough to be dealing with but with your sight problems as well I'm not surprised you are stressed. What help are you getting? It might be worth asking your GP for a referral for some talking therapy. There is support out there for you.

Shazzamattazzerly · 24/01/2014 19:44

Expat we crossed posted!

keepitgoing · 24/01/2014 20:08

haven't lost appetite sweetie but am bf so often ravenous. I agree when I'm anxious I'm less hungry. I really hope they can sort your sight. it must be scary Sad
