Hi all - I am brand new here (this is my very first post) and have just decided to start TTC this month.
I am 29, my husband is 31... I was wondering how long it took all of you to get pregnant (if you have managed)?

I was 27 First time round and all it took was a drunken careless holiday. This time at 30 it took 6 months from coming off the pill and injection. I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant :)

First month both times, I was 27 with dc1 and 30 with dc2. I'm aware I'm very lucky.

Good luck Smile

Plateofcrumbs · 18/12/2013 21:36

15 months (aged 35)

Haribotangfastic · 18/12/2013 21:37

First time got caught first month I came off pill, second time took 3 months but 3rd time took 9 or 10 months.

Mabelandrose · 18/12/2013 21:37

First time both times!

tassisssss · 18/12/2013 21:37

1st time - about 6 months though dh had just had testicular cancer so not on top form

2nd time - 2 agonising years (with 2 m/cs). Still painful to think about.

3rd time - she just crept up on us, I was still BFing loads and we weren't actively "trying" yet. Such a blessing after the previous time.

bigbangfan · 18/12/2013 21:38

2 months, aged 33

Jbck · 18/12/2013 21:38

Once with both, mid 30s then early 40s. DH said it was his Super-Sperm Grin

Mabelandrose · 18/12/2013 21:38

(Also aware I'm very lucky. And have had a mc, so im not so good at the rest of the pregnancy bit).

TobyLerone · 18/12/2013 21:38

4 or 5 cycles this time.

I was 35 (now 36) and DH is 27. Currently 37+3.

PickledMoomin · 18/12/2013 21:39

Over two years- bbt, opks etc at 24.

Littlefish · 18/12/2013 21:39

2 and a half years Sad.

We were both 36 and were a month away from starting IVF when I found out I was pregnant Grin.

Sasafraz · 18/12/2013 21:41

It is normal to take 6 months to a year. Each month you have around 20% chance of pregnancy at your age. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work right away. It took me 2 years and 4 IVFs but I am much older than you.

DontCallMeDaughter · 18/12/2013 21:41

First baby was an accident, second one took 12 months!

Whobody · 18/12/2013 21:41

We were lucky. 34 for first one and it took 1 month. 37 for second and it took 3 months.

That said I have friends who have taken 18 months to conceive no 2, so obviously it varies massively.

1 month with DD1 aged 28
13 months with DD2 aged 32
1 month with DC3 aged 35 (14 weeks pregnant)

Barbsta · 18/12/2013 21:45

I was keeping track of periods and expected ovulation dates and becoming obsessed straight away and had no luck after 2 month. I wasn't too worried but a friend told me she tried for 6 month doing it the same way then threw away her diary and just carried on as normal and got pregnant that month. I stopped checking on dates after the second month and stopped stressing and got pregnant the 3rd month :) must mean something if both of us got pregnant the same month we stopped stressing about it

LastOneDancing · 18/12/2013 21:45

Second month, although we were only practicing first one. I'd been off the nuvaring about 6 months which probably helped.

I'm 34.

piratecat · 18/12/2013 21:45

3 yrs

AveryJessup · 18/12/2013 21:46

About a year and a half to get successfully pregnant with DS. Was pregnant after 8 months but had MMC at 12 weeks. We were 32 and 30.

Trying now for DC 2 and so far we're 2 months in with no luck yet. I'm not that fussed as it's early days by my track record but I am jealous of friends who can time their age gaps whatever way they want! Not an option for us...

teenagetantrums · 18/12/2013 21:47

Unprotected sex once and DS was a result, and not planned

DD was planned took 2 months.

i know im lucky.

Bythebeach · 18/12/2013 21:47

First was an accident, second and third both first month trying. Also aware very lucky.

Bythebeach · 18/12/2013 21:48
