Hi all - I am brand new here (this is my very first post) and have just decided to start TTC this month.
I am 29, my husband is 31... I was wondering how long it took all of you to get pregnant (if you have managed)?

I started trying when I was 28, it took 9 months, but ended in MC in the May at about 9 weeks. I started trying again in the August and fell pregnant the following August, so a whole year... I'm now 21 weeks...

Spaghettinetti · 19/12/2013 11:09

Oh and Blackberry is right! The more pressure you put on yourself, the longer it seems to take...

SatinSandals · 19/12/2013 11:13

First month of trying each time, the third one being 39yrs. Just pure luck, nothing more.

mrsmugoo · 19/12/2013 11:23

An accident!

YouAreMyRain · 19/12/2013 11:27

12 yrs.

Started trying when I was 28, conceived when I was 40.

ThurlHoHoHow · 19/12/2013 11:38

3 times accidentally. I'm not that rubbish really, contraception doesn't seem to work for me. Though because we've never officially TTC it might have been that contraception was failing every month and it actually took forever each time!

DP says he now understands how 14 year olds get pregnant behind the bike shed Blush

Most people I know took roughly 6 months to conceive so yes, taking a timetable away will probably be less stressful for you. Good luck!

MoominMammasHandbag · 19/12/2013 11:50

13 months aged 28
Accidentally aged 29
1st time aged 33 (miscarriage)
1st time again aged 33
1st time aged 40

I was so utterly stressed and desperate the first time around, now even in my late 40s, I worry about getting pregnant by accident.

BabyLabyrinth · 19/12/2013 12:03

3 months aged 26
1st time aged 27

louloutheshamed · 19/12/2013 12:17

BusyCee · 19/12/2013 18:58

First time I was 34 and pregnant first cycle. Mc at 8wks

DS1, I got pregnant straight after mc, about 8wks after, but no AF in between

Third time took 8 months, and then mc at 8wks again

DS2 (4th pregnancy) about another 5 months from previous mc

Trying again now. DS2 is 5mo, I'm ebf'ing and haven't had AF yet, so who knows this time if ever again

Mama1980 · 19/12/2013 19:09

Stopped contraceptive pill after 7 years when we married in may, conceived in July now 25+1! Thought it would take longer we also realise how lucky we are! Good luck :-) x

Also like to add that I was on the mini pill. I'm 22 and DH 25

DD1 - forgot to take pill with me on a 10 day holiday. I was 25 and had been on the pill for 10 years, so honestly didn't think it would happen!

DD2 - I'm currently 37 weeks. Got pregnant first month ages 29. Honestly thought it would take a lot longer, and I'm still stunned.

There have been a lot of fertility issues on either side of the family, so we are thanking our lucky stars!

DownstairsMixUp · 19/12/2013 20:45

DS one month. Second first month again but i miscarried. This time it's been over three months still and nothing.

chestnutmare · 19/12/2013 21:27

I'm 15 weeks pregnant with my first, but took 2 years and 9 months after coming off the pill to become pregnant. I'm 30 now.

tgamble13 · 19/12/2013 21:37

duvetheaven · 20/12/2013 18:55

1st time - 1 month
2nd time - 2 months
3rd time - 3 months
4th time - 1 month

All apart from 3rd time ended in miscarriage and was aged at least 37 years plus. good luck everyone

ccsays · 20/12/2013 19:20

I was 28 (now 29) DP is 31. Was convinced for it would take ages, as my cycles are every six weeks or so. Fell pregnant the first month of trying, so it was a bit of a shock! We were both taking pregnacare, used conceive plus and cheapo ovulation testing tests from Amazon (and a period tracking app).

My due date is today Xmas Smile

hellowonderful · 20/12/2013 19:25

DC1 was an accident whilst on contraception so no tips there.

DC2 took six months of trying.

Grumblelion · 20/12/2013 19:28

Age 33, 6 weeks after we stopped contraception. We were very lucky.
