Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, pregnant with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

I can make her move by any form of gentle prodding or a brisk circular rub on my bump normally does it too. I think my favourite bit is the alien movement when my bump literally heaves and changes shape as she moves... It's so bizarre
Started packing up for the house move today, its amazing how much stuff you have when you start putting it into boxes. And my OH takes literally hours to pack a single box as he has to examine/try/tell a story about everything he touches!

BlearyeyedLol · 02/01/2014 20:27

Loving the fb bump photos!!! Anymore from anyone?! Merk??

Thunderpantsarego · 02/01/2014 20:59

Omg merk that would drive me up the wall- maybe he'll speed up once you get a few more boxes in?

My belly button is getting shallower by the day. It's weird being able to feel the bottom of it with a flat hand. Really soft.

I had whooping cough jab today- it was over in a second- much quicker than the anti-D, but I have got a bit of a dead arm now. Apparently they can't give you just whooping cough vaccine, you get it packaged in with polio, diphtheria and tetanus (I think) or not at all.

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/01/2014 21:13

Well reminded Thunder, I need to book my whooping cough.
Will try to do a bump photo tomorrow, tho I have decorator and electrician and removers coming to quote in the morning and midwife in the afternoon. Makes me want to sleep just thinking about it!

Thunderpantsarego · 02/01/2014 21:15

Are you not working at the mo merk? Hope you're not doing too much with that breathing.

And has the belly button popped out??

Brodicea · 02/01/2014 21:52

Oh merk I feel your pain, we're moving to Leeds tomorrow and have spent the last few days in packing hell.
DH scores 100% for enthusiasm and consideration (IE letting me take a break by doing the lions share), but he is the least practical person ever so I've had to instruct him on almost every task from making a box to tacking a nail into a door frame Smile
Let's hope everything goes smoothly!
I keep picking my increasingly shallow belly button (classy) - I swear there's some sort of thing in it… hoping it's not a childhood toy!

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/01/2014 23:43

Belly button hasn't popped out yet but its totally flat!
Brod I'd forgotten you were off to join the northern berries, good luck with the move
I'm off until the week after next to get the move out of the way... However am still waiting for more tests and unless they find something they can do to fix the breathing I doubt I will be going back then.
I have bitten my lip tonight as DH took his belts out of the wardrobe, re rolled them all and has now left them on the floor. This took about 40 minutes ShockGrin Were not even doing all of the packing as we are paying the removals company to do the majority (eg kitchen, living room, wardrobes, garage) as otherwise it won't get done due to Aforementioned speed issues from DH and the bump slowing me down. So there's not huge amounts to do (under beds, loft) but its proving a looooong job!

Thunderpantsarego · 03/01/2014 08:12

Oo brod big move today- good luck with it, I hope it goes really well. New life beckons! How exciting.

Lots of moving going on here as well. merk well done for biting your tongue. Am Envy of your removals company, we can't afford that if when we actually move so it's going to be a bit of a slog!

Brod are you here yet? hope all went well?

Hope ur packing isn't too stressful merk

Last proper holiday day for me, boo! back to work on Monday. How sad!

not too long to wait for scan. im getting pre-scan twitch, tormenting myself that all is not well. Sad

Really want to feel some movement. Would make me feel much better. Felt the odd twitch but nothing else. Keep giving baby a little poke to try and wake it up!

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/01/2014 16:33

Saw the midwife today (a late 28 week check up). Baby fine and head down - I told her I thought she was head down and initially she disagreed. Then after a difficult dopple she had another poke and agreed that the bump near the top was too big to be a head and must be a bum after all Grin was surprised how seriously she took my pelvic pain... off to an osteopath, and was told I needed to get a support belt --what a beautiful sexy piece of kit that is
Grin and do Pilates instead of yoga which I haven't even been to yet anyway-- Otherwise all good and the Anti D was no worse than the flu jab. I also treated myself to a new pee pot as I've been recycling the first one since 12 weeks!
House move not going swimmingly here... Both our buyer and the place we're buying have delayed today. On the plus side that gives me more time to get organised. Thunder the packing was surprisingly cheap compared to the cost of the removals; its my treat as I can't face doing it myself; between the being unable to bend, the pain and the breathing I thought it was worth every penny!
Glad to hear everyone else is ok. Puppy I don't suppose you will tell us when your scan is?? Grin Kat my bellybutton was quite a deep inny too so give it a few weeks and you may be finding that has all changed!

BlindKitty · 03/01/2014 19:27

merk I think I remember when puppy's scan is! Guessing I've got to keep it to myself though!

PuppyMummy · 03/01/2014 21:04

pressure! couple of weeks yet.

I just dont like to say incase there is anything wrong!

Boomgoestheweasel · 04/01/2014 11:11

Morning all, having a lovely morning lazing around on my first Saturday off in however long and ignoring the massive list of chores I need to do

Considering booking myself a pregnancy massage as a treat from me to me Grin

What's everyone else up to today?

Tallyra · 04/01/2014 13:19

morning boom. We got back from France last night and I'm now watching telly as an avoidance technique when the house is a mess. dh is out in the workshop fitting a flue to our old woodburner so he can escape out there more often. not sure if that's a good or bad thing...

U really shouldn't watch home improvement shows when I'm depressed about the house!

Boomgoestheweasel · 04/01/2014 16:30

Tally in my head I sort of imagine you living in a log cabin/hobbit hole in the woods. Please don't disillusion me if it's not true!

Went to mothercare today. Am now the proud owner of a 36G maternity bra. ARGH, how did they get so enormous without me noticing?! Also got two carseats for £40 each so am chuffed with myself over that at least.

Merk was it you who was getting the belly/back support band? I got a nexcare one today but it's the most uncomfortable thing I've ever worn so think it's going back. What have you got/are you getting?

OP posts:
PuppyMummy · 04/01/2014 16:33

welcome back tally

I was having a nice day, had a nice lunch out with friends but then on way home had a big argument with oh about something totally ridiculous and now not talking to each other. Sad Sad

Tallyra · 04/01/2014 16:36

big hugs puppy!

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/01/2014 16:56

Boom mine is the Nexcare too. I found it took a couple of attempts to get it on so it was comfortable... After a while it does give me back ache but its that or knives in the groin! I found having the back piece quite high and then lifting my bump with one hand while attaching the Velcro at the front helped. Where are you finding it uncomfortable? I suspect a lot will be to do with bump/body shape too and that they won't work/fit everyone.
I was nearly in tears this morning just getting out of bed... It feels as though somebody is sawing at my groin ligaments when I move Shock

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/01/2014 16:57

Puppy... It will blow over. And in the meantime console yourself with the fact that you are bound to be right about whatever you were arguing about GrinWink

PuppyMummy · 04/01/2014 17:36

yes he has now apologised (unusual, usually me who does first! ) which was nuce and run me a bath with candles and special mum&bump bubble bath!

some over the bump leggins came today from asos. v soft and comfy! my normal ones r ok at the mo but they will be lovely in a few more weeks!

Boomgoestheweasel · 04/01/2014 20:50

Aah puppy he obviously realised he was in the wrong as men always are at least he repented!

Merk you poor think, sounds horrible. I've got mine because I keep getting really painful stitches at the front when I walk which I think is just the weight of the bump pulling down, so it's really a preventative measure. I think I have too much back fat for the belt, it digs right in and I can't sit down in it! Will keep it for a couple of days and persevere but I think maybe just an elastic support band would do the same job more comfortably (they had a choice of this belt or nothing in MC)

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 04/01/2014 21:33

Boom have you tried the suggested lying down with knees up to put it on? Or just getting the back piece very high? I was also amazed at the lack of bloody choice in MC

Tallyra · 04/01/2014 22:55

My local MC is ridiculous. The front of the shop is all baby clothes, the back is the elc and in between is a stand of pushchairs and a column with maternity and nursing bras. I wouldn't trust them to measure my boobs or have any useful advice about anything except how to overcharge new mums.

On the subject of bras again, I'm still stuck. I guess I need to go somewhere I can try everything on, but everything I've tried is crap! I've gone from a 36B to a probably 38C or D, but all the 38s I've tried seem to be far too supportive, with huge straps and cups into my armpits. I don't do internet clothes shopping really so it's probably debenhams or m and s Sad

Is anyone else a similar size? can you recommended a good comfy bra???

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/01/2014 08:48

tally I still find it odd that you'd be in anything approaching a 38, I suspect all the cups are in your armpits because they're too wide for you! However if that's what you've measured up as who am I to contradict... Have you tried Bravissimo maybe? I just grabbed a bra that looked about right in MC and luckily it fits. I usually ignore the actual sizes on the labels and go for what looks right, the only other bra I have that fits is a 34e...go figure!
