Came in on Friday with pains and midwife thought I was in labour! Pains showing on monitor every 4 minutes. Got myself all excited thinking my little princess was coming! Then........ It all stops!!
Still getting pains but no dilating! Now been diagnosed with water infection and put on antibiotics for 5 days and told I have to wait til the 12th for my c section as the hospital say that I will then be 38 weeks and 4 days! However I know 100% that they have my dates wrong and I am already 37 weeks and 5 days and just want my baby here!!
Fed up if being on the maternity ward and watching others come and go with their babies whilst I sit here having pains and getting no where!!
Sorry don't actually know what I want from this thread I'm just so fed up and needed a moan. Feel like I am cracking up!!! X

Its just so nice to curl up on the sofa with DH and relax!! Although I think every minute of the weekend is planned and we have stuff to do but it's better than being in hospital :-) x

PinkWitch803 · 02/11/2013 01:12

Glad you are enjoying yourself!
My parents are taking me pushchair shopping on Tuesday, exciting Grin

Excited2meetmyprincess · 02/11/2013 17:53

Ooh twotears its so much fun!! I loved choosing mine! Now it's just got to be picked up and a baby out in it lol xx

TwoTearsInABucket · 02/11/2013 18:41

What did you choose?
With DS I had a pliko pramette, then that was too bulky for the bus so I got a cheapy mothercare pushchair which was great! And then dd came along so we got a phil and teds, which is what DH wanted in the first place Grin

Sold that though, so we have to get another one. Oops!

Excited2meetmyprincess · 02/11/2013 21:11

I got the emmaljunga mondial duo. It was quite pricey but I fell in love with it and have read really good reviews saying that it lasts forever so will be used this time and then put away incase I am ever crazy enough to have another one :-) xx

Only three days to go! Exciting stuff. Have you been stroking the new pram? Hee hee Grin
I'll be getting the mamas and papas armadillo tomorrow. I must finish packing hospital bag soon. 38 weeks today and blood pressure going up :-(

Excited2meetmyprincess · 04/11/2013 10:23

I know, I m so last minute! I use half the stuff day to day so that's my excuse Wink or maybe just in denial.
My bp has been creeping up over the past 3 weeks. DH rang the supervisor of midwives who us going to ring my mw and get my bp monitored every couple of days instead of weekly.
Hope you are feeling ok and not in pain.

Excited2meetmyprincess · 04/11/2013 13:48

I am doing ok today! Just got back from the assessment unit and baby seems happy although she did give the nurse a really good kicking when she tried to monitor her. Lol.
But all my pre op stuff is now done and it all feels very real all of a sudden. I am sooo excited now but also a little nervous.
I'm glad u are getting monitored!! U never know they may induce u now u are at 38 weeks if it carries on being high!! Could both have our babies sooner rather than later :-) xx

OP posts:
TwoTearsInABucket · 04/11/2013 15:05

It's good that you felt movements, not surprised about the nerves, it's all under control though, so all good.
I am hoping that I will go straight to c-section if bp is high because I have had c-section before and don't want to be induced again!
Or he could just be early I hope.

Excited2meetmyprincess · 04/11/2013 15:27

Can u not just request c section then if u had one before?? I was told they do them between 38 and 39 weeks anyway so u would be able to have it now wouldn't u??
This is my first so I have no idea what to expect and I am imagining all kinds happening in surgery. Lol. Sure I'll be fine but I know I'm gonna go in a crying blubbering mess lol x

OP posts:
TwoTearsInABucket · 04/11/2013 15:49

I had vbac after c-section so because it was considered a successful birth they didn't recommend a section. I could have insisted but thought I might try vb again. If I go over I will have section at 42 weeks. I have an appointment at 40 weeks so if bp still high I might request an earlier section.

It's hard not to let your imagination run away with you. Keep calm and carry on to use a cliche! Unfortunately being a blubbering mess goes with the territory Wink

Zombieminx · 04/11/2013 17:45

Since the NICE guidelines were updated in 2011, all women can have a c section if they want to.

If you get any problems, write to both the hospital chief exec and supervisor of midwives, and your MP to ask why the hospital is not practising in line with NICE guidelines. Smile

Excited2meetmyprincess · 04/11/2013 17:46

Ah right. Makes sense I guess but bet ur getting fed up now! I am well and truly ready for baby to come :-)
Yeah I have been a mess for a while now lol xx

OP posts:
TwoTearsInABucket · 04/11/2013 21:58

zombie to be fair to the consultant she did refer me to the consultant midwife to discuss it, which I believe follows the nice guidelines to refer on to another health professional to confirm that c section is really wanted.

I have been feeling a lot of tightenings this evening, but bubba is still very high! Bottom right in my stomach. I hope he is on his way soon. I must go and check/finish packing my hospital bag Wink

Excited2meetmyprincess · 05/11/2013 10:19

Ooh twotears sounds like something is happening soon!! I really hope u get ur baby soon! Its horrible when u get to this point and just want it all over!!
I am so excited now. This time tomora I will be in theatre having my baby!!! Eeek!!!! Xx
