Who was getting a kitten? They probably have the same powers!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/11/2013 20:25

Yes to random leaky breasts! The one I wasn't feeding from used to pour when DC was attached! I bought breast shells, collected it and froze ready for those moments when I escaped the house on my own!! Grin

IBelieveInPink · 11/11/2013 20:38

Ooh that's a great trick! I want to mix feeding and expressing anyway, that would be helpful if I can manage it all at once!

Bodicea · 11/11/2013 20:45

Garden - it was me getting a kitten. But we saw sense a couple of days after bambino was born and cancelled.

On bras - I have been wearing sleeping nursing bras so far and one that expands and is generic size (medium) from mother care. Now that milk come in and boobs have gone massive have ordered a couple of bravado bras that are a bit more size specific to try on. Have ordered the bravado original plus and double plus - will send one back - hoping am just the plus !! Wouldn't spend the money on these until milk comes in.

Bodicea · 11/11/2013 20:47

Ooh saggy breast shell sounds interesting - gonna look those up now!

Angloamerican · 11/11/2013 21:18

Congratulations to all of the new babies! I've been offline for a while, mainly because I felt as though I had to stop focusing so much on being pregnant and worrying about something going wrong. In the last few weeks, though, I've had a number of tests and everything looks great.

I had the comprehensive second trimester screening and Baby is genetically and chromosomally normal, which was a huge relief. Ultrasound looked great, and I "passed" the one-hour glucose screen that I had this morning. I am almost 15 weeks but they screened me early because I had two massive babies...which apparently puts me at high risk for gestational diabetes. I will be screened again half way through the second trimester but for now I feel really good.

Showing and everything...! I even started wearing maternity clothes and have looked at a pram (briefly) online. Silly, really, but I didn't want to start wearing maternity clothes until the second tri, "just in case".

Anyway. glad all is well here!

andthepiggotupandslowlywalkeda · 11/11/2013 21:24

Just realised I haven't posted for yonks, and there are pages and pages to catch up on. Good luck for sweeps and incoming babies!

I'm at 15 and a half weeks, and feeling much more energetic now - it's lovely! I seem to be expanding hourly, and finally cracked and got out the old maternity clothes.

When are you meant to get measured for maternity bras? Is there a certain number of weeks you're meant to wait until?

BobaFetaCheese · 11/11/2013 22:08

Late congrats Bod!!
a shaking for Shell and Bump!

Shell, it's taken 3 months but DS1 is finally (mostly) 100% happy with DS2 being on the scene. He strokes him & will hold his hand, kisses him & waves.

The JL advert makes me think of the South Park Woodland Critter Christmas episode, infact I would just prefer to watch that on a loop than see the ad ever again.

Piggotup, I lived in sports bras and then bought feeding bras once DS1 got here.

Anglo, congrats on the good scan & good glucose test.

It's nc garybt here btw.

Pixielady83 · 12/11/2013 08:09

anglo that's fabulous about your tests, you must be so relieved! really glad all ok and you're starting to tentatively enjoy the pregnancy. andthepig yay for getting energy back!

hi gary boba! lovely to hear ds1 is getting on well with baby now Smile

Don't know if being thick but can't seem to find the breast feeding talk section. Anyone know what section it is under?

IBelieveInPink · 12/11/2013 09:58

Bod - feed the world. Apparently!!

livingzuid · 12/11/2013 10:17

Great news Anglo on the tests! You can really enjoy everything now how lovely for you. And hello everyone I am still dithering over which bra to get. Am down to my last one that is remotely wearable now. The dress I wore to work yesterday is no longer wearable I had to be sure to keep covered up otherwise people will have gotten an eyeful!

I am off to the gp today not my normal one but better than nothing. They may send me straight to hospital as I have kept very little down for the last 3 days. It must have been a man who invented the expression morning sickness what a misnomer that is! Although I did keep my oranges down last night as I went straight to sleep after - I have gone from hardly touching oranges to wanting nothing else mmmmmmmmmm

11 weeks today when does this end :( off work again!

Huffpot · 12/11/2013 10:17

Hi sticks head around the corner
Can I join in? POAS last night and got confirmation that I'm pregnant after a late missed miscarriage and my beautiful baby born sleeping in March
Am in an odd state of mind as although we were trying again am petrified now I'm pregnant again Shock Shock

Pixielady83 · 12/11/2013 11:26

welcome huff I'm not surprised you're scared, it sounds like you've had a terrible time. So sorry for your losses. Lots of hands to hold here Smile

living I totally craved oranges when pg with DD, oranges and stodgy pie and chips?! not at the same time though Grin no regular cravings this time apart from chocolate.

After 3 days rest at home pelvis is feeling bit better, just hung the washing out which was naughty and did hurt a little but its such a gorgeous day I totally couldn't resist. I love getting the washing on the line! i know that's really sad Blush

kitkat321 · 12/11/2013 11:32

Hello - can I join in please?

I had an early MC 6 weeks ago and have had 2 bfp's in the last 2 days after a mix of faint positives and bfn's over the last week.

Been to the doctor who has requested a fmu sample to confirm but he's confident it's a new pregnancy.

I'm so nervous now that I'm going to mc again - I've had some mild cramping this morning and some very light brown spotting. Also got slightly lower back pain

I know it could be an implantation bleed but I'm fearing the worst and could really do with some positive vibes!!

GardenWorm · 12/11/2013 11:39

Welcome Huff and congratulations on your bfp. So sorry to hear of your losses, you are in safe hands here, we are all at varying stags of pregnancy (and some with babies) after loss and have big hands for holding.

Pixie i am jealous, where i it a gorgeous day?!

livingzuid · 12/11/2013 11:41

Welcome huff :) it's great here and you will find lots of support.

Pixie glad you are feeling better. I love having clothes dry outside they smell so nice! Especially sheets. 7 degrees and rain here so not much chance of that happening. Oh my DH prepared the best oranges yesterday he kept them in the fridge and then cubed them up for me so it was easy to eat. I swear nothing tasted better and was determined they were going to stay down! Maybe it is some call for vitamin c? Whatever it is that is all I want right now! although a pie and chips would not go amiss, yummy. No decent pies here sadly!! But great chips!

This sickness is so strange I am starving and could eat a roast dinner with dessert but it would not stay put. Sorry tmi I just don't understand how I can eat a burger minutes after having been ill. Is that common? May stick to oranges!

GardenWorm · 12/11/2013 11:42

kitkat fingers firmly crossed, remember brown blood is good and you are at the stage where it is very likely implantation xxx

livingzuid · 12/11/2013 11:50

Hi kitkat and welcome :) lots of ladies who can advise. I am pg so far after miscarriage back in Feb. what you are describing sounds normal and many women experience bleeds in healthy pregnancies. What did your Dr advise on the symptoms?

I still get cramps around when my period is due and am 11 weeks now. It's disconcerting and unhelpful to get them when you must be so anxious but it is normal my drs assure me.

kitkat321 · 12/11/2013 11:57

Thanks livingzuid - I'd mentioned the cramps to the doctor this morning but he didn't have anything to say about it. The spotting hadn't started by this point though.

Nipped to the loo and it seems to have stopped so fingers crossed.

My mc started in a similar fashion - light spotting before beds and then I woke up to severe cramps and bright red blood.

Cramps are currently managable - like mild period cramps. I've taken some paracetamol just to keep them under control - when I had my mc my bp dropped and I collapsed due to the pain and I really don't fancy doing that in the middle of my office!!

kjh5 · 12/11/2013 12:08

Welcome Huff and kitkat lots of people on here to offer empathy and understanding about what you have both been through!

Kitkat just wanted to give you some reassurance, my experience was very similar to yours - MC and then fell pregnant again straight away. I had bleeding throughout my first trimester. Heavy bleed with cramps at 4weeks (a day after getting a BFP), brown spotting a few weeks later and then a very heavy bleed at 9weeks. I had mild cramps throughout as well. Each and every time I hared off to the EPU in a panic expecting them to tell me it was all over and each time we had a healthy baby with a good heartbeat wriggling around on the scan screen. It is the most awful thing to go to the loo and see the blood because you are so scared that it is all over again but bleeding (especially brown blood) and mild cramps are usually nothing to worry about. Of course if the cramps get heavy and the blood becomes bright red and clotted you should get yourself off to hospital. Hoping you manage to get through today ok xx

Pixielady83 · 12/11/2013 12:18

Welcome kitkat hope it's an implantation bleed and settles soon.

garden I'm oop north - north west - so nice days in November are pretty few and far between, we've had rain most days for about a week! It's really mild for November too, beautiful!

kitkat321 · 12/11/2013 12:21

Kjh5 - thank you so much for sharing your experience - it's really reassuring!

I've got an appt with Epu tomorrow - hoping they'll scan me and let me know what's what!

Bodicea · 12/11/2013 12:30

Pink - ta v much- who would have known?
