Ok so I'm 36+5 - back pain all day on and off but I've been cleaning so thought it was because of that, had a horrible sleep last night seemed to be in a bit of pain... Never thought anything of it though Grin

Anyway my mother comes to mine for take away, DP is out meeting friends, I stand up to go make the cuppas and I feel wet... Go to the bathroom to investigate, pants are wet and so is my jeans, completely clear, and doesn't smell... Called the midwife, she said to put a pad on lay on my left side, and stand up in an hour, then if it is my waters I should experience a "gush" (is this true) and if I do get this gush, I've to go up to determine weather I am in labour or not...

What do you ladies think? Is it my waters? I honestly didn't pee myself Grin

I suppose I'm just a bit nervous that they say it's not my waters and don't check me out, when it could be?

Advice please xx

Doctor gave me an internal, couldn't see anything HmmSad said they didn't think I was in active labour but if I have anymore leaking waters, go back.

Got home at 12.30am sleeping around 2.30am woken at 4.30am crying with dull sore back pain, now sitting in the Livingroom drinking tea with dull back pain coming and going... Do you think this is it???

DP wouldn't stay in bed, bless, he's sitting here sipping on a cuppa looking very tired Sad I hope this isn't a false alarm SadConfused xx

Mild back pain coming & going, sounds to me like its the start but it could be a long time. Did the hospital confirm it was/is your waters?

Caip · 12/10/2013 06:37

Good luck GreenGiant! Hope things speed up and get going! You must be so excited!

I can't get back to sleep, am 13 weeks with my first after 3.5 yrs and 2 rounds of ivf. I'm a rubbish sleeper anyway but my mind is just full of baby stuff and not switching off!

GreenGiant3 · 12/10/2013 06:39

Craving - the doctor couldn't confirm that it was my waters after internal, left feeling very silly, but now this? Coincidence? I know it wasn't discharge and I know I didn't wet myself but, I'm not sure what it was... Xx

Caip- wow congratulations you must be so excited, no wonder your mind is buzzing, baby brain at its best!! Are you finding out your babies sex? Or waiting for a surprise?

I hope this is it, I will be very disappointed if again it is a failed start to labour... The pain is bearable which makes it hard to know if it is labour or not SadSadSad

Sounds like its all kicking off nicely. When my waters went I had mild contractions for most of the day and night but nothing major. Try and get some sleep while you are waiting and take some paracetamol. You don't know when your next chance to sleep will be.
Good luck OP Brew
And yes I'm up! I have a toddler, its practically lunchtime for me!

Caip · 12/10/2013 06:48

I have no words of wisdom I'm afraid but hope this is it!

We've decided not to find out the sex. Do you know?
Had our scan on Thursday so think I'm going to go and buy my 1st thing for the baby later! Am also telling my niece and nephew which my sister is really excited about

chimchiminee · 12/10/2013 06:50

Sounds promising - any more leakage? Good luck!

cravingcake · 12/10/2013 06:51

My waters went as a slow leak but the midwife did confirm it. I never had lots of 'gush' just felt like every now & then a little bit if wee had escaped. It was waters, the smell is not like any other bodily fluid.

Keep active when you feel you can (walking up & down stairs, bouncing on ball etc) but also rest when you need to. Keep an eye on your temperature as well as this is a sign of infection after waters going. If you feel it is waters then trust yourself and if necessary phone them again to say so.

Good luck, its such a nervous experience when its like this, and not quite sure of what your body is doing.

GreenGiant3 · 12/10/2013 07:01

No more leakage

green any news?

GreenGiant3 · 12/10/2013 07:44

Nope Sad still mild back pain, slight abdominal twinges now and again, does this sound like labour or just a false start? I'm beginning to wonderSad xx

Lagoonablue · 12/10/2013 07:51

Try and just get on with your day but stay close to home. Maybe just a slow start. Good luck.

Wishfulmakeupping · 12/10/2013 07:54

Sounds just like how mine started :) think you'll be going in today good luck!
Any names picked yet?

TobyLerone · 12/10/2013 07:58

Good luck, OP! Sounds like the start of things to me.

Imnotaslimjim · 12/10/2013 08:06

I sounds like things may be gearing up for you Green. My labour started in the same way apart from the waters going. I woke with backache, which came and went over the next few hours, and gradually geared up to proper contractions not going to mention it took 27 hours from waking to delivering

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 12/10/2013 08:26

Sounds like things are slowly getting started, I think it's for the best you managed to get your DP back to bed.

What are you planning to do with your dc1 today? Any family around to look after them.

MildredH · 12/10/2013 08:34

Ooh good luck green! Have a good breakfast if you feel up to it.. Just in case!
