Hello again - another shiny new thread for the batsh*t crazy women going through the stress and emotional rollercoaster that is being pregnant after a miscarriage.

Fingers crossed for lots of happy scans and boring pregnancies.

OP posts:

Yay Tomkat! Glad it was all fine!

Fod - hoping you're still OK over the weekend.

Penguinita - hello! Hope all is smooth and boring for you over the next nine months.

SnotMyProblem · 28/09/2013 19:03

Oh - forgot: Cbeebies, the bit of the cbeebies app with the shouting is the Octonauts one, the mission with the whale.

The anecdote: we were going on holiday. We'd got up at 4.45am to leave the house at 5.45am in order to get to the ferry on time. It was one of the longer crossings, and we were lucky enough to have a cabin on the ferry and thought we might all have a bit of a sleep. DS decided that he didn't want to, so I gave him my tablet to distract him while I dozed (was 5 weeks pg by this point as well, which probably didn't help). Ten minutes later, all I can hear is 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHRRRRRRRGGGHHH', 'AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHGGGGGHHHHH', etc. No sleep was had. I hate that bloody game.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 28/09/2013 19:06

ive just had an brainstorm! Grin

Recently, ive been feeling decidedly odd. Tired, wobbly, pounding heart, headachy, pale, a bit breathless, classic symptoms and I was concerned it was anxiety. Ive just worked it out! Ill bet im low on flipping iron! my diet has been pants for weeks! I dont remember the last time I could stomach a vegetable! Sad
I was worried I was going to keel over! Blush
It's a good job im seeeing the midwife on monday!

GuffSmuggler · 28/09/2013 19:15

Great news on the scan tom and lovely to see you here penguin Grin

BumpKitty · 28/09/2013 20:15

Yep saggy that sounds pretty textbook for low iron, it was the breathlessness hat made me think I might be. I hope you don't get the nasty side effects from the tablets!

ibip the lack of sleep was awful by the end of my last pg, by the time. Finished work I was like a zombie. 'twas lovely though to be ale to sleep during the day (till DD arrived!). I hope you get some sleep. I've found I'm really sensitive to caffeine now having limited it so much, if you are having chocolate before bed that might be causing it?

Yey tom brilliant news, I always think I've lost track of what day it is when people have weekend scans! How exciting to move a week on :)

Penguinita · 28/09/2013 20:17

Aww, thanks girls for the lovely warm welcomes Grin

Lovely happy news on the scan tomkat!

Your post made me laugh saggy, they must have been getting to the bottom of the barrel of round shaped fruit and veg! I'd love to get to the turnip stage, at the moment I just have an apple pip Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 28/09/2013 20:21

Bump you mean like small black bullet sized poos? Been there, done that!Blush

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 28/09/2013 20:47

Saggy I'd get checked for iron but a whole host if other things if the dr will too. Thoes symptoms sound quite similar to mine and I have Folic acid anemia. I'm not suprised your lacking in vitamins tho after everything you've been through. Are you taking some pregnancy vitamins? Pregnacare do some really good ones but are ££.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 28/09/2013 20:49

Im taking pregnancy vitamins and fat bird dosage folic acid. Grin

Tomkat79 · 28/09/2013 21:03

You are funny saggy Grin

So I'm having real trouble working out how I'm one week more preggo than I thought....lmp was def 1/8....is the baby just bigger, or did I conceive like on day 7 not 14, I'm really confused! To be fair that's not hard at the mo, mush brain in full swing.

Yeah that makes sense kat, thanks. Btw think you've shifted them headaches onto me!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 28/09/2013 21:17

Tom, babies are all different. They all weigh different weights and are different lengths, yet are measured against the same scale.
For example my baby a week ago was measured at 5mm indicating 5+4 yet I know I am further along than that, there was also a heartbeat which indicates baby is at least 6.2 weeks.
With dd2 I was measured at 9 weeks, but no measurements were written down (I was there for a kidney scan they just checked on baby). 3 weeks later I was told I was 9 weeks along (matched my dates). They refused to listen when I said I was 9 weeks 3 weeks ago. Then 3 more weeks I was corrected to being 13 weeks pg. fast forward to (corrected) 40+2 when I gave birth and placenta was almost dead. 'Oh' said the midwife, this placenta looks almost like a 42+ week pregnancy. Hmm No shit Sherlock Angry
It's an estimation, there is no way of telling he exact dates of pregnancy.

fod27 · 28/09/2013 21:17

Sorry I've been off radar I've been trying to rest... The most taxing thing I have done is to instruct DC on how to Hoover and wash clothes. Only got up to shower :) there hasn't been any cramping or bleeding yet... Hope I haven't just tempted fate. Just hope everything's ok

Stay positive fod. As kat says all sounds good.

67 hours and 50 minutes ;-)

fod27 · 28/09/2013 22:00

Thanks girls ;) treating myself to a naughty take away

I'll be crossing everything for you Kat... I'm sure everything will be fine xxxx

Penguinita · 29/09/2013 07:58

Sounds like you are doing the right thing and looking after yourself fod.

I've got everything crossed for your big news day on Tuesday kat.

I'm having a minor panic this morning as I did a CB digi test last Sunday that said 2-3, so I did another one this morning and it still says 2-3. So now I'm worried that there is something wrong and my hormone levels aren't going up as quickly as they should. Looks like I'll be wasting another tenner on another CB digi mid week...

ChristineDaae · 29/09/2013 08:53

Morning all! Been visiting my parents this weekend so just catching up as DD got up and asked for Grandma, so I'm making the most of lounging in bed and getting 10 min peace Smile
Fod hope you're doing ok. Black - how are you doing?
Penguin, how far do you think you should be? It could well be that you were at the 'bottom end' of the 2-3 last week, and are at the top end now?

We're off to center parcs tomorrow. DD is going away with the in laws so DP and I are having our last bit of time alone before the madness that is the next 12 months starts.

YikesHereWeGo · 29/09/2013 08:55

Hello ladies. Do you mind if I join you? I'm 8w4d today and have had a bit of a bumpy ride this pg so far. Had a big red bleed at 6w-ish and thought it was game over. But a couple of scans since then have showed baby is still ok. They did also show a bleed next to the sac, measuring 3cmx3cmx1cm and said this put me at higher risk of mc. They said to expect the blood to come out but couldn't tell me when. I had a small amount of spotting yesterday, not very much though and it was brown and gloopy so didn't worry me. I'm just not sure whether it should all come out like that? The sonographer did say the blood could just get absorbed into my body instead of coming out. I've not left my sofa this weekend for fear of a gush of blood (like my first bleed) disturbing the baby. Has anyone else on this thread experienced similar, I.e. a visible bleed on the ultrasound?

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 29/09/2013 09:20

penguin stop testing. You have a positive, that all you need to know. If it was 2 weeks po it would have said 2-3. now it'll be 3 weeks so still say 2-3. if you test mid week its still going to say 2-3. and more annoyingly while you levels are climbing (because they are and do even if you mc) your levels will get sob high it can trick the machiene into saying 2-3 causing needless panic. The best thing you can do is contact your EPU

STEP AWAY FROM THE CLEARBLUE DIGITAL!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 29/09/2013 09:27

Yikes, the most important thing to remember is brown blood is old blood. It doesnt change the panic, fear and BSM attitude we can all provide at times! but if it was brown and gloopy its most probably the bleed you saw on the scanner.

But I will say call the EPAU. it wont hurt to talk to them and get some reassurance from them, they wont mind honestly, its what they are there for

MissMedusa · 29/09/2013 09:43

Hi Ladies, I've been lurking in the shadows, too scared to tempt fate and join another thread just to have to announce that I'm out yet again but I have been reading and keeping up with you ladies and thought now is a good time to jump in as I wanted to reassure penguin that I had a similar situation with the CBD in that I had bloods taken that showed HCG levels of 3000 and when I took the CBD the next day it still showed 2-3 weeks (I was 5+2 at this point). It's supposed to switch over at 2000 so obviously the test is less sensitive than it says and/or even FMU can be diluted and skew your results. The moral of the story: don't trust the CBD, it'll make you crazy.

In a nutshell, DH and I have been TTC for 2 years now. I have had 2 MCs, the first was a blighted ovum which I had removed by D&C at 6 weeks and with the second we had a good scan with hearbeat at 6+4 but started spotting a few days later, 2 weeks later we found out it had died at 7 weeks and I mc that one naturally a few weeks later. I had one full cycle since the last mc and now I'm pg again the third time. I'm 6+5 today and have two scans already. We saw an embryo measuring 6mm and heartbeat at 6+1 and I have another scan Wednesday. I'm on progesterone suppositories as my progesterone was low. If all is well at the next scan I will be past the point that the last baby died so I'm walking on eggshells, hoping we make it.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 29/09/2013 09:47

miss I know that feeling of walking on egg shells well. I have everything crossed for you. I also have a scan wednesday so will be thinking of you whilst i'm sat in the waiting room
