Hello again - another shiny new thread for the batsh*t crazy women going through the stress and emotional rollercoaster that is being pregnant after a miscarriage.

Fingers crossed for lots of happy scans and boring pregnancies.

IBIP Braxton Hicks?

Bodicea · 10/10/2013 17:57

Bump was me. Phew. Was starting to think it was just me who couldn't drive anymore!

Pixielady83 · 10/10/2013 18:01

me I didn't tell people unless they guessed this time. We don't go out much and its easier to conceal not drinking at home when friends were over. Like others I found the untelling last time so painful especially as I seemed to have told everyone in my mc pregnancy.

pink that sounds like Braxton hicks, practice contractions. I had my first ones on the train today which did freak me out as 20wks feels too soon. Had sore tightenings across bump every 10mins all the way home not nice! stopped now and baby kicking away so breathing out again.

IBelieveInPink · 10/10/2013 18:02

Baking - hoping so! They do keep coming and going - but I didn't think Braxton hicks were supposed to hurt?!

LuckySocks13 · 10/10/2013 18:03

IBIP- I'm nearly 34 weeks now and quite crampy with bachache on and off. Thinking the crampy thing is Braxton Hicks? Not sure never had them with DS.
I'm happy to have finished work. Work as part of a social services department doing family support work and its very stressful! Also DS is tantruming big style on a daily basis. Think he aware big changes are ahead!
Off to a spa 2mor for a massage to celebrate my Birthday weekend. Well hopefully as DS tells me he has tummy ache and some silly parent took their child to nursery yest when they had been sick! Grr!
Anyone else feeling very emotional? I cry on a daily basis! Mainly at nothing! Sunday was hard though as I went to a christening for my friends baby. She had a previous still birth and prayers were said for the baby. I sobbed for the baby and for the babies that I have lost. Just couldn't hold it in and I was with DS aswell. So very sad.

Sorry for rush post earlier, had tried to post last night and it just hung and hung. Sonographer was amazing, listened about the mmc first, talked me through what we'd do differently for this scan, turned off the bed-view screen and turned the sound off so I wouldn't be gripping the bed when I heard silence instead of a heartbeat. Turned it all on when it was fine. Made it much easier. She scanned me for far too long too so I could have a good look, claiming she 'just didn't have the right measurements yet', which was rot, as I'd seen her get the crown to rump right off. Spent 20 minutes nearly watching wriggler. Gorgeous woman, we could have hugged her. Gave me free pictures too, which was so terribly kind. Has made all the difference to how I feel about the baby now. I'll write to say thanks tomorrow. Dated at 13 weeks tomorrow, so a wee bit far along (I'm really probably 12+5ish then), but I'll go for it because it sounds exciting!

Garden glad you're in one piece!

Lucky I'll cry at anything. Night before the scan thought I'd burst something.

Thanks for good wishes yesterday everyone. I was telling myself I had to keep it together in the waiting room and man up for the thread!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/10/2013 18:34

Great news tea! What an amazing sonographer Smile congrats xxx

Garden- bloody hell! Glad you're ok xxx

To whoever was talking about toddler flu stuff; it was A long, thin thing that sprayed right up my DDs nostrils so she didn't really have to snort it (lol!) though I did tell her to sniff anyway.

Santa- I had all four if those needles within 24 hours!! Whooping cough arm still a bit sore 4 days later. Anti-d bloody hurt going in but nothing after. Enjoy! Grin Wink

shellsocks · 10/10/2013 18:35

Hey pink I never got BH with DS either but am getting loads this time and for hours at a time....and they can be quite painful (although I would probably say they are more very uncomfortable rather than painful like contractions would be iyswim). I keep getting sick and (TMI!) having to go the loo as well which is making me hope things might start early this time Smile Hopefully for you too - if that's what you want of course Grin

Bloody hell garden glad to hear you are ok Smile

Congrats on the scan tea and the lovely experience, it makes all the difference Smile

Pixielady83 · 10/10/2013 18:39

tea that's fantastic news Smile what a lovely lady to approach it so sensitively, I really wish they would all do that with the equipment. So glad it went well for you!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/10/2013 18:47

Shell- when are you due? Sounds exciting! Smile

YikesHereWeGo · 10/10/2013 19:18

Woah garden - hope you're ok after the crash. Sounds scary!
Great news tea - what a relief!
I had a scan today & harmony blood test - measured 10w4d which I was pleased about as it gets me a bit closer to the magic 12 weeks. Now the 2-week-wait for the results. Eek Confused
Hope everyone ok?

shellsocks · 10/10/2013 19:42

Great scan news yikes Grin

Due 12 Nov blackholes so will be 37w and fully cooked a week on Tues....I'm ordering a baby for that date WinkGrin

MeDoingMyThing · 10/10/2013 19:51

Thanks Santa. I may use UTI excuse as even the weight loss one will raise eyebrows, have always managed a glass when on a diet before! I know what you mean about sympathy. Hard to take for some reason.

MeDoingMyThing · 10/10/2013 20:00

MissMedusa - great idea on the apple juice front. I think I will arrive early so no one overhears the order.

Pixie - same here, I seem to have told far too many people last time. But I also don't like lying to the friends who have been amazing in the last few months listening to me drone on. Difficult.

Pink - I had BH from about 22 weeks with both type opus pregnancies. Thought nothing or it at the time but I think after a mc you're just more worried about everything.

Tea - that scan sounds just wonderful. Aren't some human beings just amazingly empathetic?

IBelieveInPink · 10/10/2013 20:05

Shell - yeah that sounds right. Uncomfortable. Only one painful one so far. But add to that backache, increased visits to the bathroom, and increased, erm, discharge, it just makes me thing baby is getting herself ready! But I'm not ready! I'm not next in the list, and it would be rude to jump the queue!!

I'm sure this is all just a big wind up, and she will end up 2 weeks late. Pah.

Penguinita · 10/10/2013 20:06

Congrats on the good scan news tea and yikes !

me I've just told my sister and a friend at work who told me she was pregnant (I might come to regret that one). We are not telling any parents until after a scan, having to tell them they had lost their future grandchild was by far the worst part last time. I well up just thinking about it now.

I've got a similar problem to you though, a three day work get together next week where everyone will be drinking, and I'm well known for joining in! And I work with doctors, so can't make up a flimsy medical excuse Hmm

TeaAndANatter · 10/10/2013 20:16

I've just been to read 'penis dunk' because I didn't read it when someone here posted it. I don't mean to minimise what the miscarriage meant to me, but I have to say that I haven't laughed since our baby died like I laughed at that thread. I had to stop reading by page 2 because I was worried the baby wouldn't get enough oxygen. Now I've wasted ages reading the follow up of what happened, and came across this:

www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/10/10/penis-beaker-mumsnet-forum-threads_n_4075822.html?utm_hp_ref=uk-comedy

Sorry for going off topic, but my goodness, by the 'pearl barley' and the 'I hate my animals', I was crying. God bless MN and all who sail in her Grin

SnotMyProblem · 10/10/2013 21:00

Tea, she sounds like a lovely sonographer!

Medoing, I've solved the 'not drinking' conundrum by not having a social life! Erm...

Emki · 10/10/2013 21:38

I've just read the thread 'penis dunk' too - have been fretting once again about whether this bean will stick and this thread has definitely cheered me up! Absolutely hilarious! Thank you for the links and for the other links to other funny MN thread tea.

penguin how you doing? I'm 7 weeks tomorrow .... its sooo slow!! Going to try to go for an 8 week scan... but I'm totally terrified. I'm still feeling nauseous - sore boobs - etc.. but tis not much of a comfort ... grrrr - its so annoying we can't enjoy our pregnancies ....

Tea well done with your scan so pleased you had a good sonographer

Chocolateteabag · 10/10/2013 22:04

Ibip - does sound like Braxton hicks - does your bump go really tight? I've also got lots of extra discharge (sorry tmi) but loads and loads of movement and rolling about which with Ds did reduce down a lot in the later weeks.
When my actual labour started it did feel like period pains but much lower down. Ugh just thinking about it brings it all back - not that it was absolute agony, but like facing a really long run - it will be hard work to get through

Garden - DS's BF had the flu snort this week (I had assumed it would be an injection) I am not sure Ds is going to like it any more than an injection though.

MeDoingMyThing · 10/10/2013 22:23

Penguin - glad it's not just me who is known for liking a drink. Bad news on the medics front. Having said that 2 of the mums going on out for one of my social occasions are GPs so I may be on a rocker too.

Tea - that Huffington link is hilarious! Just made me laugh out loud. Thank you!

SaggyIsHavingAPinkKitten · 10/10/2013 23:08

God I feel like a truck hit me tonight! Work was fecking terrible today. It was so windy my gazebo kept blowing away. Every time it took off I had to leap up and hang on like a monkey. My boss got a proper nagging! There are meant to be at least 2 50lb weights to hold it down! Sad my job is easy with proper functioning equipment. Sadly I dont always get it! I cant feel like this every night, hes going to have to get it together!

Bodicea · 11/10/2013 09:14

pink I have been getting loads of BH contractions, they are starting to tail off a bit now. Asked my consultant if that meant an early baby and he just smirked and said no! So no such luck - I was hoping for a 38 weeker,

TeaAndANatter · 11/10/2013 09:19

Saggy, that's rotten, you shouldn't have to work like that even not upduffed. I'm at least a single 115lb weight, and if there's food involved, I could be your weight?! I think being a deadweight is about all my brain's up for at the moment. Zzzzzzz.

Penguin, I work at hospital with all doctors, and no-one noticed a thing until I said this week, even though I've been sleeping on my desk, have a face like a teenagers (spotty, rather than glowing with youth), have boobs like a pair of mating zeppelins, and everyone commented two weeks ago that my lunches 'don't look like your kind of lunches' (been having evil serious white bread and crisp cravings). D'uh?!

Tomkat79 · 11/10/2013 09:57

Thinking of you kjh, hope you got some sleep xx
