I'm having my flu jab and whooping cough tomorrow- both in same arm so only one dead arm! Eek. I hear the whooping cough one is painful afterwards!

Bodicea · 06/10/2013 15:27

I guess concern is I feel bad enough as it is at this late stage of pregnancy. Do I really want flu jab making feel even rougher ?

Sorry for late reply. Pulled back/ trapped nerve or somthing yesterday afternoon . Back has been going into spasm ever since. In serious pain and been up half the night. Knew somthing like this would happen he second I took mat leave! The annoying thing is if I had been at work still I could have got a sick note and not wasted my blimin holidays! Got a lumbar support which helps a bit. Going for appoint with midwife tommorow so will see what she says but assume it is usual advice - rest up etc

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 06/10/2013 16:12

Black holes the whooping cough one was super achey after so don't get it on the side you sleep on! That was my biggest mistake! Don't remember the flu jab giving me a sore arm though x

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 06/10/2013 16:13

Oh and I got the last flu jab in March (not February) so was in the first few weeks of this pg

fod27 · 06/10/2013 18:14

tom your a girl after my own heart ;)

MeDoingMyThing · 06/10/2013 19:33

Hi there, can I join please? Only did test yesterday, so am barely pregnant. Mc in march so basically stressed out and worrying same will happen. Have low abdominal twinges and line was very very faint. Almost daren't believe it's true. Anyway, hello!

WhatWillSantaBring · 06/10/2013 19:38

I had the flu jab at about 38 weeks with DC1... A week later a friend had swine flu (it was that year) so I was REALLY glad I had had it. Didn't feel anything after in terms of illness. They have been routinely giving the seasonal flu jab to pg women for three years now. If there was a problem then I think we would be starting to see evidence of it (eg a sudden spike in birth defects/development issues etc) but we haven't. That to me is pretty good evidence on a wide scale that it is are, AND there's a known risk of serious complications if you catch flu when pg. no brainer to me.

Hey baking fab to see you here.... Long may you stay.

Xx

OOOOOh Saggy!!! It's a girl?! How lovely :)

Morning all - back after a week's holiday and I made it to the magical 12week mark hurrah! and I am bloody terrified about my scan on Friday.

Had all my bloods done and so far everything seems ok plus I still feel like utter hell so I'm assuming that is a good thing and we are now three weeks without any bleeding so also a good thing. Right that is enough posifrickintivity for today then! Just can't wait to tell people the few that don't know the secrecy is officially killing me.

Also a friend gave birth to a beautiful boy last night (8lbs 8oz!) and I am broody as hell and can't wait to have my own squishy baby! Oh man, please let everything be ok on Friday

How's everyone else? Haven't had time to catch up on the thread yet. Sending you all lots of virtual hugs and Cake - welcome to the newbies!!

Arrghhhh v. jealous you know your flavour!! DH is adamant we're having a surprise, I have one week until the 20 week scan to convince him to find out!!

SaggyIsHavingAPinkKitten · 07/10/2013 13:38

It was the full results. Thankfully there are no 'other' problems!
