tea I love it!!!! I too heard that sex brings on labour (something to do with the uterus contracting post shag?) I totally know where your coming from on the 3mc front - we were fed the same thing followed by the head tilt and the nods! all meant nothing as nothing changed and we were completely disregarded along with our feelings I went to a place called "Life through the Lens" it cost us £55 in total but was well worth it as they gave us a DVD of LO moving around! Have a google as they are in two county's I believe

I've been sooooooooo knackerrd!!! Sleeping all evening and yawning all day! Apparently I should be having 6 meals a day! Are you frickin kiddin me?!! I must admit though that this tiredness is really worrying me, surely in the second trimester your supposed to feel amazing??

Pixielady83 · 03/10/2013 22:52

tea brilliant Grin although I feel a combination of a little prudish/slightly queasy at reading some of those stories!

Penguinita · 03/10/2013 23:04

What is wrong with eating ham? I had a ham sandwich on Tuesday -argghhh, panic panic!

fod I've been looking at life through the lens, they are about a 45 minute drive from me but also £45 cheaper than anything nearer that I can find. I was a bit worried it might be impersonal and conveyor belt-like for that price. Sounds like you recommend them though?

fod27 · 03/10/2013 23:16

Absolutely tea the sonographer that we saw was also a MW and she had had 2 mc, she actually got really emotional and we had a little cry together over shared experiences. I love that I have footage of our bean that we can take out and watch whenever we are panicking. I actually prefer them to the NHS ones and the sonographer was soooo much nicer that our MW. We phoned before hand and explained our history (ours was a MMC and we found out during a scan) she helped us to book a quieter time slot and reassured us that they refer anything like that straight to the EPU etc

fod27 · 03/10/2013 23:17

We used the one in Stoke on Trent, if you decided to go with them I'll let you know the best days etc xxx

jmf294 · 03/10/2013 23:17

OMG- just read the stories on teas link!!
When I was in labour with my son ( back to back) I was vomiting every hour and the pain was awful.
If my husband had come near me I would have chopped it off.

fod27 · 03/10/2013 23:19

No way jmf!! I was exactly the same with my son! My voice even changed from the gas and air and apparently I sounded possessed ;)

Awwww kat/ that's lovely!

TeaAndANatter · 04/10/2013 09:35

Congrats Kat!

Thanks fod, we had a private one at 8 weeks (Baby Bond - very kind scanning lady - very understanding and reassuring), it's just that I wanted the NHS one at or v near to 12 weeks so I didn't need to wait longer than we really must.

Penguinita · 04/10/2013 11:09

Morning all, I just got back from my first midwife appointment, complete with shiny new maternity notes and a bounty pack full of crap Smile. It's starting to feel a bit real now! Midwife was lovely, she couldn't book me an early reassurance scan but told me to call EPU directly at any time if I had any pain or niggles or bleeding. So given that I go into a tailspin every time I have trapped wind, I'm sure I'll be doing that pretty soon!

She also got me a booking appointment for next Friday. That is super quick, I couldn't get one until 11 weeks last time and never actually made it that far Sad. So that will be a big milestone for me.

LuckySocks13 · 04/10/2013 13:03

Hi all,
I've been lurking again as just can't keep up with the pace! Welcome to those of you with recent BFP :) wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy.

Sorry to those of you having tough times at the moment. Sending strength to you all.

I've had a pretty tough few weeks. Am 33 weeks tomorrow (cant quite believe it!) and after some reduced movements last week am now under consultant due to my history and bleeds throughout this pregnancy. All thankfully seemed well on a scan I had Wednesday though. I finished work yesterday as have leave to use up before maternity. Not much chance of resting with a demanding and grumpy 3 year old though!

GuffSmuggler · 04/10/2013 14:04

kat you can't be in your third trimester! You are behind me aren't you? Do you mean second? Grin

I have also been eating ham, I'm sure it's ok....

IBelieveInPink · 04/10/2013 14:23

Hey lucky. was wondering where you were. Glad they are looking after you properly, and that all okay. Reduced movements scary aren't they, I was beginning to get a little worried again today but now being booted in the ribs. Yay.
34 weeks tomorrow. Doesn't seem real, still feels like it is happening to someone else. Can't believe there is only 6 weeks til baby day.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 04/10/2013 14:31

I think Kat mean second? I thought shed just had her 12 week scan.

Tea that made for some very interesting reading, although I have to agree with the others when I was in hospital labouring the pain was so much if dh had suggested any part of his body going near my fanjo I would have ripped his balls off and grated his dick. As it was visions of me doing just that whilst hissing at him 'this is your fault, I hate you for this' and 'you bloody bastard, you put her in here, you Gould be giving birth to her' whilst he nodded along very seriously saying 'yes dear, of course dear' got me through the labour :)

Yea for 1st midwife appointments penguin!

Thanks to the dramas of the beginning of this week and no wanton I do anything incase it causes miscarriage Hmm my house looks like a bomb site it have 3 days worth I uni work to do 7 baskets of dirty washing washing to sort through and 3 baskets of clean (I don't actually have that many physical baskets it's mostly in piles :() and all I wan to do is sleep. sigh still at least baby is ok.

GardenWorm · 04/10/2013 14:32

Hello Janie glad you are well and have popped your head round the door. Will you get regular scans/appts from now?

Pink 'Booted in the ribs' has baby turned???

IBelieveInPink · 04/10/2013 14:55

Ooh garden didn't I say? Yes she has, about a week ago! Did some of the spinning baby's exercises on a day when she was particularly active anyway, and she somersaulted! She still has a tendency to go a little wonky sometimes (so still has room to move) but is mainly head down :) hope she stays that way!

LuckySocks13 · 04/10/2013 17:07

My baby head down too Pink so they told me at the scan. I have to go for a re-scan in a few weeks and go back before if concerned. Am still hoping for a homebirth though so don't want things to get to medicalised if possible. Also have a house which looks like a bomb Cebeebies!

Pixielady83 · 04/10/2013 17:28

Glad they are looking after you lucky and keeping an eye on things.

With DD being breech last time I'm particularly keen to get this one in the right position. Does anyone know at what stage I should start spending time hanging off the sofa upside down and the like? Because I'm small they think DD ran out of space to turn last time. 19wks at wkd.

Had a physio appointment today. Happened to make a passing remark about the consultant telling me I should go vbac and physio got really cross, guessed which consultant it was and told me to consider getting a 2nd opinion about an elective section due to my hip and pelvis problems. I'm a bit confused now, I think she just wants me to stand up for myself but not sure if she was also thinking because of those issues vbac not likely to be successful? Confused

IBelieveInPink · 04/10/2013 17:49

Pixie - I've been told baby is big (hippo sized) and she turned last week at 33 weeks - still manages a bit of a spin now(34 weeks) . I not particularly big either - 5.5 and usually size 8/10 so you probably have time up til about now, depending on how weeny you are :)

Tomkat79 · 04/10/2013 17:59

Omg I don't think I've ever felt so steam rollered! Headaches this week from the moment I wake up until bedtime. Nausea all evening and my god I'm so tired all the time. Cant poo either Blush 10+2 today...someone please tell me this gets better!

BumpKitty · 04/10/2013 18:46

evening all

delighted to see you here Bakingtins I've got a good feeling about this one Grin and you are just in time to welcome a glut of Autumn babies!

I've been in for reduced movements today but all is fine. The baby did a weird rolling movement yesterday then was quiet for ages then what movements there were were very gentle, turns out she has turned back to back so is just booting the placenta where I can't feel it. I hope she moves back round again soon!
