Hello again - another shiny new thread for the batsh*t crazy women going through the stress and emotional rollercoaster that is being pregnant after a miscarriage.

Fingers crossed for lots of happy scans and boring pregnancies.

Omfg! Bakings, I'm going to do a little , really hope this is it for you. Put a proper smile on my face, you're such a lovely supportive member of MN.

Anda, gorgeous girls!

Dropped off here, cannit believe how far along some of you are already!
Alexander is 2 months old now & lovely (he's grown into his massive nose, but still has his dads big ol ears, poor thing).

Bodicea · 03/10/2013 13:36

baking tins congratulations. so lovely to see a swift return.
I am on clexane and my tips are the lower the better close to the hip. doesnt seem to hurt as much going in. And flick the little bubble away at end of needle as it will sting more goin in if it is there. Inject slowly. And as you get bigger watch for veins they all seem to come to surface. I actually rarely bruise now just get little purple dots everywhere. I hated leg and have stuck to tummy all through but some people prefer leg. It does get easier honestly. I have called husband every name under sun. We alternate now in who injects.

Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

GuffSmuggler · 03/10/2013 13:43

Yay baking!!! What a rollercoaster you've been on, we're all willing this one to stick! Grin

Bakingtins · 03/10/2013 14:15

Thanks everyone. Nice to have some people who are pleased Smile rather than Hmm Very mixed feelings myself being back in the firing line, but you've got to be in it to win it, right? We've had a completely shit year, our luck has to change sometime. I'm a bit worried that I will miscarry in the middle of my DS1's Harry Potter party at the end of the month, but will just have to take each day as it comes ( and make sure the party is prepped to within an inch of it's life)

Bakingtins · 03/10/2013 14:16

Gary missed that you have had your baby. Kisses to lovely Alex! Flowers

GardenWorm · 03/10/2013 14:51

TINS! Awesome that you were diagnosed so quickly and are back here. Massive massive congratulations to the Tins family. I hope you have the dullest pregnancy ever xxx Grin

Pentagon · 03/10/2013 14:59

baking it's so nice to see you back on this thread! Congratulations on your BFP! I can understand the mixed feelings but remember you've lost a couple of battles, not the war (that's what I kept telling myself after my second MMC); and if you really want something, you have to persevere... I'm glad you've had some answers and are on on progesterone, steroids and clexane - fingers crossed everything goes smoothly this time!

gary it's great to hear from you! I can't believe Alexander is 2 months old already!

pixie I'm really sorry to hear about your friend's sad anniversary and thank you for reminding us about Count The Kicks.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 03/10/2013 15:54

Pixi my cousin had a still birth because the midwives gave her really really bad advice and she followed not knowing any different Sad I will be gettig a bracelet and urge anyone and everyone to. These babies give warnings things are wrong and not kicking is a sign of that (important to also recognise the difference between movements and kicks and gravity movements as regular movements)

Baking, I don't know you, I wasn't on the ttc thread, but I know that tentative feeling and am looking forwar to chatting more, I really hope this is a stress free easy pregnancy x

I can't believe I'm about to admit this Blush with dd2 I went in to prem labour at 31 weeks, I had regular contractions on and off until the end. It jut became normal. On the day I gave birth I was having more of these contractions but assumed as before it was nothing. Dh and I dtd then went to my regular mw appointment where I found out I was 6cm. So technically dh and I dtd whilst in labour, but there is no way I would be doing it at the birthing unit!

pumpkinsweetie · 03/10/2013 16:21

So sorry to hear about your friend pixie and thankyou for reminding us all to remember how important counting the kicks is and to always get things checked out xx

Pixielady83 · 03/10/2013 17:07

cbeebies I'm so sorry it happened to your cousin too. From what little I know, a bit more education (of health care providers as well as mums) and monitoring in late pregnancy could make a massive difference and it's awful that there appears to be so little interest in doing that in the UK Sad

Regarding your other admission Grin I think dtd at home when you haven't realised your in labour is far more understandable than in the birthing unit! a small irrational part of me now wants to know if there is anyone out there who would consider it or who's DH would! dtd aside, I'm impressed with all the other good advice about positions, movement etc that ladies are getting in their nct/nhs classes, we got nothing like that and I think that info is really important.

Penguinita · 03/10/2013 17:55

Hi bakingtins, really fab to see you here!

Lol at snot sacrificing her chicken Kiev to divine baby's future Grin. It's no more daft than crystal balls or tea leaves! Maybe it will catch on.

Thanks for the link pixie, I'll pass that on to my pg friends.

DTD in labour?? Wtf?!! I know babies come out all icky sticky but why add to it... Confused

fod27 · 03/10/2013 18:18

wooooowwweeeee tins I'm freakin over the moon here!!! So so pleased for you!! This is the moment!!! I can feel it!

Awwwwwandi all I can say is awwwwwwwwweee

TeaAndANatter · 03/10/2013 19:37

I'd consider some (ahem) manual support in the early stages, if on our own in the privacy of our home.

Lieslvontrapp · 03/10/2013 19:50

Hi everyone!

Congrats on those that had good scans this week. It's such a relief isnt it to see a heartbeat on the screen.

Also congrats to those that gave booked in this week. Another milestone further!

saggy so pleased that the heart scan showed that they can operate with a high success rate.

Beautiful girls anda! Glad your doing ok.

Baking!!!! Great to see you back! So glad that you've had some investigation and now have some treatment. Really hope this one sticks for you.

Can't believe there's quite a few now or very soon on mat leave! Can't wait for the flurry of new thread babies to start later this month!

BirdsDoIt · 03/10/2013 20:07

bakingtins congratulations! Fabulous news! So pleased to have you with us!

tea, love your confession. (And am not remotely horrified, just not sure I'd be in quite the right frame of mind... Smile)

Dum di dum. 14 weeks tomorrow and still yonks until my next appointment. Really hope everything's ok in there.

kat I know exactly what you mean- after a few days of euphoria post 12 week scan I'm back to my previous doubting self, although slightly more hopeful than before...But having a posifrickintive moment, our edd are very close!! Just 4 days apart if the fmc is right! (Mine's now 5 April).

Tomkat79 · 03/10/2013 20:09

Oooh tea Shock

GuffSmuggler · 03/10/2013 20:09

Just ate lasagne with garlic bread and my bump is MASSIVE. I'm 18+2 but look about 7 months, this is ridiculous!!

GardenWorm · 03/10/2013 20:16

Can I just say I can't even be arsed to dtd as it is at 33wks, let alone whilst my difference is being split! Grin

GuffSmuggler · 03/10/2013 20:36

Garden Grin I can't be arsed now! Surely we deserve a break after the relentless TTC shagathon!?

Although my friend did admit to getting her labour going as she was so overdue by tweaking her nipples - desperate stuff!! Confused

TeaAndANatter · 03/10/2013 21:18

Semen contains natural prostaglandins, which ought to help efface and generally prompt the cervix to do it's thang more effectively. It's got the same ingredient (?!) as they simulate in pessaries to induce labour. I'm not saying that it's necessarily going to be a toe tingling wall moving kind of experience, think of it more as a mercy shag in your time of need Blush. There are a couple of websites promoting/discussing sex and orgasm as natural painkillers in labour. My personal pref is a nice sook of G&A, but it mightn'y hurt to go for a painkiller combo platter although I draw the line at taking 2 paracetamol, because that's just taking the piss in my opinion

12 weeks at the end of this coming weekend, and still not heard a dicky bird about my scan date. Feeling a bit cross, as I begged for a scan right on 12 weeks to assuage some of the never ending anxiety, and they agreed, but seem to have done bugger all about it. Bet anyone here a crispy five pound note I don't get offered an appointment before 13 weeks. Really do feel quite peeved, as their response so far to my sharing my post MC nerves went along the lines of, we don't do anything until you've had 3. Humph. Especially humphed as we're now having the bloods done, and want those asap yesterday.

Got horrible spots and cried with nausea yesterday (got a break from 10am til 4pm, the rest of the day was grim), and feel guilty for whining when I wanted MS so badly at the start! We need an emoticon for , for and for

Angloamerican · 03/10/2013 21:28

Glad to hear that things are going well with everyone! I am still feeling crappy, which I hope is a good thing, but I am a little nervous about listeria. Ridiculously nervous. Why? Because I ate fully-cooked, piping hot ham. On a pizza. (I know, I know - but these crazy worries won't leave me alone.) I felt a little flu-ey and achy last week, just for a day, and have convinced myself that it was reaction to listeria. My OB appointment and ultrasound is on Tuesday, so I'll have to wait until then to talk to someone about it. Despite the fact that I am worried, I am still sufficiently embarrassed to not want to mark myself out as a complete loon among the Drs and midwives. I'll have to just vent my crazy here...

Angloamerican · 03/10/2013 21:29

And I am showing! Only 9 weeks and already squeezing out the top of my jeans. It can't possibly be my everlasting muffin-top from my first two children

GardenWorm · 03/10/2013 21:30

Um Tea I did quite well but couldn't read any more after getting to the bit where she 'still has erotic dreams about labour'! Really?!
