Hello again - another shiny new thread for the batsh*t crazy women going through the stress and emotional rollercoaster that is being pregnant after a miscarriage.

Fingers crossed for lots of happy scans and boring pregnancies.

ibip it was a week and a day early! I was Shock and Grin Less so once we got to the hospital and were told that she was breech Angry that's probably why my waters went so definitively because there was no head blocking the way out! they literally did not stop flowing until I went into surgery 8 hours after they started. One of my friends who had a normal head down baby did hear a 'pop' when hers went which was quite cool! Apparently it is pretty unusual for labour to start with waters going though.

TheNobodies · 02/10/2013 16:38

A massive congratulations to all the good scans! Cbeebies, great news for you... your babies obviously trying yo worry you!

I had my last scan today until 12 weeks my baby has grown and has a healthy heart, im 7 weeks 3 days Smile. Midwife appointment saturday, not looking forward to goig through my past losses amd sorting out all my consultant appointments!

Is everyone still feeling pregnant? My urine infection and thrush has gone finally, just feeling weak and faint now!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/10/2013 17:20

penguin have you managed to arrange a scan yet?
Well done on all of the positive scans. Keep up the good behaviour! Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/10/2013 17:21

I think I might be having a food baby!
Ive been to Ikea today and had meatballs. I left home with my normal lumpy tummy and returned looking about 6 months gone! Confused

MissMedusa · 02/10/2013 19:32

Congratulations on the great scans cbeebies and nobodies that feeling of relief when you see the heart beating on the screen is unbeatable!

I had a good scan today too. Good heartbeat and baby is measuring 1.06cm at 7+1 which I think is just about right. Every day we get closer to the 12 week mark and every day the chances of mc get smaller. Today's scan also puts this baby at further along than any of my previous ones so it's a bit of a milestone as well.

I might even be brave enough to add myself to the list!

Grin miss glad your scan went well too.

fod27 · 02/10/2013 19:57

Yayyyy beebies
ibip mine started with a dull ache in the back and progressively got worse over time until labour hit

BirdsDoIt · 02/10/2013 19:58

Crazily busy with work at the moment but just wanted to stick my head round the door to say YAY to all the good scan news, kat, blackberry, cbeebies, and miss - lots of milestones passing!

And saggy I just think you're amazing. X

BirdsDoIt · 02/10/2013 20:00

Ps saggy I also get a 6 month food baby bump whenever I eat anything remotely meal sized. Went out for a smart work dinner and the buttons on my dress actually kept popping open whenever I breathed in too much which was really embarrassing. I am 13 weeks!! So the size of my food baby belly is plain ridiculous!

BirdsDoIt · 02/10/2013 20:02

kat are you brave enough to put yourself on the list now?? What edd did they give you at the scan?

Penguinita · 02/10/2013 20:06

Good things do come in threes! Three happy news scans in one day, congrats cbeebies, nobodies and medusa.

saggy I'll find out whether I can get a scan on Friday morning. But I like the previous suggestion to contact the EPU directly if I don't have any joy with the midwife. They generally only take referrals but it can't hurt (and I have their direct line now after all my previous visits - every cloud...)

BirdsDoIt · 02/10/2013 20:10

Oh and congrats nobodies too - didn't mean to miss you off!

Yes penguinita our epu actually told me I could come back for early reassurance scan (at 8 weeks) with second pg after my mmc with first - regardless of whether I had cramps/bleeding or not. So definitely try and self-refer or see if they do drop-in appts which is what our local epu have every weekday.

shellsocks · 02/10/2013 20:42

Congrats cbeebies, nobodies and missm Grin what a good scan day!

pink my labour started while I was having my tea and it was straight into regular contractions....I was so glad it was tea time as I didn't eat again for a few days! Smile

GardenWorm · 02/10/2013 20:50

Congrats Nobodies and Medusa Grin

Grrrr. I'm angry! So DP did not leave work early enough to get back and to MLU tour in good time for 7pm start. Full of crap excuses (I work in the same place so know he could have sorted it) Then to top it (as he could have got there 10mins late) he got the wrong train which meant he would get there 5 mins before the end so I had to go on my own. The whole reason we were going was because he is totally anti MLU whereas I'm undecided and it would mean we could make an informed decision. It's ended up with me going on my own and him in a shitty with me (?) because I have tried to turn it into another reason for me to have a go. I did point out that I think most people in my shoes would feel annoyed. But no it's just me being horrible to him. Just needed to get that off my chest. Arse. Oh and I can't tell him what I really think as my mum and dad are staying....and now I feel bad for them as we clearly want to kill each other and as they are staying we are on an air bed which needed an air top up before DD went to bed as its on her bedroom floor but he didn't think to do that so I've now got a shit nights sleep to look forward to on top!

I'll get over myself shortly Grin

fod27 · 02/10/2013 21:10

Wow!!! And.... Breathe.... Garden I too would be pissed but there nothing worse than having family there.... Really awkward for everyone I'm guessing, my DH is giving up smoking and has ended up being more of a hormonal bitch than any pregnant woman I've ever known! I've know informed him to communicate via notes or I will stab him in the eye with a bastard fork hahaaa

Tomkat79 · 02/10/2013 21:12

Excellent news on all the scans! Had my booking in apt today, she was nice :-)

Good to rant garden. Sounds like he's being a bit of a wally to me. What did you think of the MLU? X

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 02/10/2013 22:05

oh garden i feel your pain :( you have every right to be angry. i think something i've realised after the support on this thread, is that men don't think. they don't see super important things that we see. if i was you i'd get into bed with your DD (if she has a proper bed...can't remember what age she is). so bloody awkward when your parents are there, it's so hard to try to hide tension.

great scan news today girls! brilliant!

hi anda hope you and the girlies are doing well!! are you on a post grad thread now? be sure to let us know as would be great to sty in touch come oct / nov for us all!

so 2 interesting workshops for me today. firsty, on my own...the mlu at the hospital. was really interesting. the midwives showing us everything were great. even told us that when the big day comes, we are welcome to get jiggy in the birthing room if we wanted to! sure it's those hormones that got s here in the first place!! and apparently good hormones make for a better labour ;) also, they told us that our prep in the run up is as important as our attitude on the day. so girls....do lots of side to side figure of 8's with your pelvis anytime you can...be it on a gym ball or standing or cooking your tea. also, to get baby into the optimum position, all fours is crucial. do it either just on the floor, with your elbows on the gym ball, or in the pool, just let your uterus be under you...whether you're swimming or just holding onto the edge and facing downwards. when in labour, keep doing the figure of 8s with your hips and pelvis....as this will make everything better. they're big into promoting natural birth and you can't figure of 8 if you have an epidural.

second class of the day was tonight - a hypnobirthing info session. i made dh come with me and i'm glad he did as he knew nothing about it (i've read the book). was interesting and she ran through what they would do in the classes...however the classes are £300 per couple for 4 sessions. bit much for us sadly. but glad that dh now has an insight into what it's all about.

BumpKitty · 02/10/2013 22:05

Ace scan news cbeebies, medusa and nobodies Grin bet you're all on cloud nine.

ibip no signs here till my waters went (40+5 weeks). Not so much as a Braxton Hicks!

garden rant away, i'd be cross too. make him go on another tour on his own. And yes - what was it like? I wish I had an MLU (I sound like my 2 year old there - 'wish I had a barbie').

hi anda :)

Right so at yoga tonight there was talk of a lady who had her baby at the weekend, at 37 weeks and he was 8lbs 4oz! Made me think maybe I should pack a hospital bag sometime soon!

GardenWorm · 02/10/2013 22:13

Ha Ha Fod - pmsl!

Over it now, we managed a 'discussion' on the landing where I basically told him he was being a twat and all he had to do was apologise when I came through the door instead of have a go at me. He agreed. Done. (and we even managed to remove sleeping DD from the bedroom so air bed reinflated plus put on a show of solidarity rather than hatred for mum and dad)

The MLU was like a flippin travel lodge! Double beds, water births always an option, no restrictions on visiting times as long as you respect any other residents. I think I'll go for there. Midwife reassured that most probs with babies arise as a result of a difficult delivery (as opposed to having a normal one and there is suddenly a problem) and that they would have got you over to the hospital way before that happened (although it is still 25 mins away...). I had to have the hormone drip last time and think that contributed to retained placenta, they can't do it in MLU so try acupressure and homeopathy to boost the hormones if labour is slowing which I'd much prefer. Now just the minor issue of what to do with DD...she would just try and get in the birthing pool with me!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/10/2013 22:25

I am very jealous of the MLU talk. I can kiss my nice quiet waterbirth goodbye! Sad
Garden nothing will ever induce me to sleep on an air bed! Bouncy, squeaky slowly deflating hell! Confused
Penguinita definitely just go straight to the EPU. A previous ectopic is prime criteria for an early scan.

IBelieveInPink · 02/10/2013 22:56

Ooh. I am intrigued by all of this chat of mlu. Unfortunately me and DH are too scared to be anywhere other than right next to the resuscitation stuff etc. it would make us (especially him) more uncomfortable being far away from that.

And thank you for the labour feedback. Sounds like all very different and no way of predicting! Damn! There goes my 'complete control!'

andadietcoke · 02/10/2013 22:58

It's exhausting. I'm a bit type a and am struggling to delegate/trust other people, plus I'm doing all the night feeds as I feel so bad that DH has to go to work knackered if I wake him up (he can sleep through their screaming!). I've buckled today and bought the Gina Ford twin book even though I swore I wouldn't. Will take it with a pinch of salt I think, but we need some kind of routine

janie no post grads thread yet. However, my September thread have been great - so if you haven't already, join the relevant groups on MN - we have a Facebook group which is great for sharing photos, and also easier to keep track of in the middle of the night! When there are some more grads from this thread we'll set a thread up - at the moment it would just be me and gary rattling round!!
