Hello again - another shiny new thread for the batsh*t crazy women going through the stress and emotional rollercoaster that is being pregnant after a miscarriage.

Fingers crossed for lots of happy scans and boring pregnancies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pixielady83 · 01/10/2013 14:02

oh no cbeebies Sad is it definitely new blood? I really hope things are ok, so sorry epu can't fit you in today.

GardenWorm · 01/10/2013 14:17

Cbeebies stay strong, it can and very often is normal. I have everything possible crossed for you. I know it's not great but at least they can see you tomorrow and you haven't been left waiting in limbo for days. xxx

GuffSmuggler · 01/10/2013 14:18

cceebies sorry you are having a bad day, shame they can't fit you in today but at least you only have to wait until tomorrow, try and keep positive.

Pixie I've had the flu jab the last 3 years running since being PG with DS and have felt fine each time. I'm booked in for the next one on Sat. Flu is so awful and very serious for the unborn baby so I didn't think twice about it. Will def be getting the whooping cough as well.

Good luck for all the scans today. I just looked at the stats and there is going to be a bumper crop of babies End Oct/Nov, how exciting!!

fod27 · 01/10/2013 14:44

tigs welcome and congrats on your pregnancy... It must have been incredibly hard to have a loss at that stage, we are all here for you cxx

cbeebies have you had any cramping? Try to remember that a lot if us have had some kind of bleed in our pregnancies so long as it's not accompanied by cramping
all should be ok...., doesn't put your mind at rest tho does it?
No problem yikes just hope it helped

Unfortunately ladies I seem to sleep all evening and end up awake all night! I'm sooo glad I don't feel alone in the fear of second trimester lack of symptoms.

question time have any of you had intercourse since your BFPs?

Pixielady83 · 01/10/2013 16:08

fod yes but only last wkd when I got to 18wks... and even then hips were too sore for it to be very, ahem, satisfactory for either party Blush think DH might have resigned himself to celibacy until next spring... I admire people who manage to maintain active sex lives in pregnancy, I just seem to find it very uncomfortable.

Tomkat79 · 01/10/2013 16:10

Aww beebies hope you can get your feet up and try to relax, yeah right. Crap that they can't see you today. I swear if I worked on an EPU I'd stay late to squeeze people in! They can't have any idea what it must be like to go overnight!!!

janie hoping your fur bag comes home real soon.

kat not long now until your scan. Hope all is well.

Welcome tigs. Lots of handholding here.

fod you can chat to me tonight when the insomnia kicks in as another night shift looming. Tried to sneak out this morning before matron arrived. Despite walking the other way with my hood up she still rumbled my hair colour disaster. I look like I've left my hair in a betroot jar overnight. It's a little pink Shock. Old bag told me it was against policy and I wasn't to come back until it was brown again. It's not against policy as it's clean, neat and tidy and it told her I'd quite happily not come back tonight if that's how she wanted it. She scurried off at that point as she knows she's talking shite.

Intercourse...yes once. And he was so bloody gentle I barely felt it haha. That's quite enough for the first trimester.

SnotMyProblem · 01/10/2013 16:14

Cbeebies, I hope you can get some rest, and I'm crossing my fingers (and everything else) for you tomorrow.

fod27 · 01/10/2013 16:56

Aww thanks tom I would ask matron to show you exactly where in you contract it states anything about your hair colour ;)

thanks pixie we did it today for the first time since BFP didn't even do it on our wedding night out of fear... I was worried something might happen

On a unrelated topic I've just been dragged into the teachers strike action debate on Facebook by people who have no idea of the facts!!! Grrrrrr makes me incredibly angry!

Penguinita · 01/10/2013 17:44

So sorry you are having scary bleeding cbeebies, really hope it isn't as bad as you fear. Your tooth sounds nasty too, how ironic that they offer free dental treatment to pregnant women and we can't sodding use it.

Hi tigs and welcome. I'm just over 5 weeks too so it is nice to have someone else at a similar stage! Jealous of all your symptoms though, I just have sore boobs, I'd love a bit of sick

I don't dare add myself to the stats list yet, it feels like tempting fate.

fod, DH has been told no proper sex until at least 12 weeks. We didn't abstain last time and it is one of very a long list of things that I put down as potential MC triggers to avoid next time around.

A cat pooed all over our doorstep last night, I pleaded toxoplasmosis risk and made DH clear it up. An unexpected pregnancy bonus Grin!

Tomkat79 · 01/10/2013 17:46

Ooh don't start me on that fod lol. To be fair I initially thought get to bloody work as us nurses work in shit conditions and we can't strike but then I read the ROAR article on fb and now have a better understanding of the reasons behind it. People have been very opinionated about it on my fb too. Hope that blood pressure is low!

tigsnchar1 · 01/10/2013 17:46

Thanks everyone for the welcome and good wishes. I did have mental health issues after we lost our baby girl and so really want some support now, but obviously can't tell friends or family. You are very kind.

Cbeebies, I am so sorry you're having such a rough time. Sending lots of positive thoughts. I know exactly what you mean about trying again, it's taken over a year for us to dare.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/10/2013 18:06

Omfg kat so happy for you!!! Absolutely fantastic news, so pleased xxxx

kjh5 · 01/10/2013 18:53

Yay Kat!!! So thrilled for you - best news ever! I'm just on holiday at the moment in rainy Devon with no signal but just wanted to check in and see how today's scans went. So happy it's good news!

Have been with friends who have a one-year-old and a four-month-old and boy which I was initially worried about but am I loving every minute of it! Broody as hell which is a relief :) Been so nice to cuddle babies and have fun with a toddler and everyone knows I'm pregnant so all have been really reassuring.

Haven't had time to read through the thread but just wanted to send everyone lots of hugs - hope no one is having too hard a time of it xx

SnotMyProblem · 01/10/2013 18:56

Yay kat! That is lovely to hear!

GuffSmuggler · 01/10/2013 18:57

Hahaa Tom that was pretty much the vibe I was getting however I would totally back anyone else striking over poor conditions or treatment, my mum is a carer and I completely understand how hard you guys work... I think the public think that we have no appreciation for other sectors or workers etc
penguita I am 14 and a half weeks now so I'm hoping that May be a positive factor?
