ZingWantsGin · 10/11/2013 01:15

hi all, call me Zing!

I gate crashed the first thread with my smarty pants advice, serving ice lollies in the the of summer and offering gentle massages.
I started the second one as they kept on disappearing to give birth and I the thread was filling up.

So I thought I'd check back, just in case I could help again and hold hands.

I have had 6 children and so had a bit of experience - do ask me any questions you like, nothing is TMI to me anymore!Grin

I'll be here to cheer you on too, if needed.

good luck!

DaleyBump · 10/11/2013 01:25

btw, Congrats on your wedding! (you thread crasher!) Grin

BummyMummy77 · 10/11/2013 02:12

Hi Zing.

Daley, I got one of those mattresses. I can't sleep on anything else now but I also need a good shove to get out of the bed.

Dh also had to build me a step to get into the bed.

Oh the glamour.

DH commented tonight that I'm like a little, grumpy slug. (I unknowingly left a bit of a trail on his favourite cashmere blanket after sitting on it after my shower. This discharge is out of hand!).

DaleyBump · 10/11/2013 02:23

Thank you! Sorry for crashing your thread, I didn't mean to!

Grumpy slug, that's fantastic Grin

ZingWantsGin · 10/11/2013 03:13

Grin at Hi Zing! What colour socks are you wearing?

Giant, I don't know about you, but I'm willing to try some of that sparkly airy fairy labour dust that often gets passed on by women on the wide web! Hope things have moved on for you now. It's crap being so close yet so far.

My contractions are about +- 10mins apart now. Quite intense. DH is waking the children and packing them up to take to my brother's. then I'll wait an hour and go in I think.

gubbinsy · 10/11/2013 09:52

Hope you don't mind me butting in. I really thought it was all happening yesterday - contractions from about 5.30am - lasting between 30 secs to a minute around every 4-5 minutes. Painful but could talk through them and breathing help - definite peaks in each one. This then went on all day! Had a bath, took paracetemol but nothing changed. Eventually went to hospital about half five as hadn't felt much movement. Baby all fine but cervix completely closed. Was so depressed!
Have lost plug (or at least some of it) so something obviously happening and baby apparently very low. Came home and managed to go to bed and sleep after more paracetemol (was my biggest worry as had actually been awake since 3.30am the night before). All stopped now apart from odd bit of cramping.

Trying to get myself positive and think that this at least means something is starting but the idea that this could happen again for a while is quite depressing and terrifying! Anyone else had this?

BummyMummy77 · 10/11/2013 10:27

Oh Gubbinsy that's rubbish! How far are you?

No signs here. Midwife is back from her mini holiday tonight so may go for a long walk and ask hubby for some sperm.

GreenGiant3 · 10/11/2013 11:17

Gubbinsy, I could have written your post, I posted yesterday the same kind of situ except I didn't go to the hospital, I was reluctant as last week I had the same start stop, now mines have completely subsided!! So annoyed looks like I will be getting induced on Wednesday as planned Sad this is SO frustrating isn't it SadBlush when were you due? X

gubbinsy · 10/11/2013 13:42

Helps to know others have the same! Was due on Tues so 40+5 today. Lost a massive bit of plug this morning and getting intermittent lower back pain today - also just exhausted so trying to rest as much as possible!

Green - it's just so frustrating isn't it! Hope yours gets going again soon. It's sort of made me dread things starting again and more fearful of the pain as well although was coping ok I think!

Fakebook · 10/11/2013 19:54

Hi all! Baby girl born about 2 hours ago. Not weighed yet. Very spaced out right now, but very happy. Keep moving about everyone and I can't recommend squatting enough!! Good luck!

gubbinsy · 10/11/2013 20:00

Massive congratulations to you fake. Will try the squatting!

BummyMummy77 · 10/11/2013 21:28

TwoTearsInABucket · 11/11/2013 10:47

Can I join? i am 39 weeks today. I have a sweep booked next week, but hoping it won't come to that. Although several people have been telling me when I can't have the baby as its not convenient for them! I know all in jest (apart from my DM and DF as they have something on this week, so wouldn't be able to drop everything and look after DS and DD). Grrr. This baby will arrive when it arrives.

Congratulations Fakebook, squatting sounds interesting, if you have a minute between the glow of new baby and extreme tiredness I would be grateful for some tips! Thanks

gubbinsy i hope all is kicking off for you now.

GreenGiant3 · 11/11/2013 10:51

Welcome TwoTears SmileThanks

I would also love some squatting tips SmileWink

TwoTearsInABucket · 11/11/2013 10:57

BummyMummy77 · 11/11/2013 11:42

Welcome 2teats.

I've had enough this morning. So tired in throwing up.

All excitement has gone, I just want to crawl into a hole and lie there forever.

GreenGiant3 · 11/11/2013 15:05

Bummy I'm the same, sick of all the phone calls and texts too Hmm I feel so drained Sad

CuteLittleToes · 11/11/2013 15:35
