Goodluck my favourite Orange! Donna I've given up already I'm just expressing I hate breast feeding I find Labour nit really that painful at all sore and hard work but I've never taken any pain relief. When it comes to breast feeding I feel like I need an anaesthetic it's the worst pain in the world. So feeling liberated I've made the decision early on this time!

Donna1989 · 27/10/2013 07:44

it is painful though so don't blame u I'm in 2 minds also to carry on or express might have t express cause been in agony every 3 hrs is not going well lol how's baby doing? my tiny has got colic so that's quite destressing at times as well just wish I could take it away xxxx

Hey Ladies,

Am now 40+1. I had a sweep yesterday that went well. My cervix had dropped and was soft. The doctor was able to do the sweep which is a good step forward from last week. They weren't able to give me a c section date as they had no theatre space until mid Nov and I am only allowed to go 1 week over. Registrar's advice was long walk and sex tonight!

I am feeling really frustrated though. Not long after the sweep I started feeling really crappy and uncomfortable. I started having contractions (painful and just as I remember with DS once they started). They started about 6 last night and I started monitoring them about 8ish. They were getting closer and more intense and then just started to get erratic again about 10.30-11. Wasn't sure whether to stay up bouncing on my ball or try and sleep while I could. Opted for the latter and everything just tailed off. Got up again about 12 to see if I could get things going but no joy.

With DS I was so lucky that everything kicked off with waters going and never had this start stop bit. Just want to meet my baby now. Will be curry for tea, lots of pineapple and raspberry leaf tea for me today. Will see if I feel up to DTD tonight, so uncomfortable I am not sure but if it gets stuff moving it would be worth it.

How is everyone else doing?

BummyMummy77 · 30/10/2013 11:16

Good luck Windy!

I'm so uncomfortable. I slept 2 hours last night.

Baby has just gone from rot (horrid transverse position) to loa (woohoo) though. Although he nearly killed me doing it. 3 hours of the worst pain ever.

I'm doing a belly cast today as a couple of mummies say it brought them into labour. :)

I can't believe this thread has died just by the time I got here...

But I mean to revive it! 38+2 today, and first week of my maternity leave...

Anyone around? :)

I'm actually enjoying the relaxing time... No more early mornings, no commute...

Had fairly easy pregnancy, and now that I'm home feel more achy and uncomfortable! Sad

Everything hurts. All the time.

It takes 5 minutes to move into a new position which hurts 1 minute later.

40 weeks today and nooooo sign.

Next person that texts, calls, emails, whats apps, vibers, asking if he is here and WHEN he will be here is getting yelled at. :(

gubbinsy · 06/11/2013 17:39

40+1 here and getting very grumpy. First baby so no idea how it will start - just wish something would!

GreenGiant3 · 06/11/2013 18:35

40+3 here, second sweep today that was unsuccessful and a huge waste of time!!! Induction booked and I'm feeling so fed up, I feel like baby isn't going to come on own accord SadSadSadSad so teary!!!

Fakebook · 06/11/2013 20:08

39+5 here and have been having period pains and loads of contraction type pains today but really irregular. sometimes 1-2 hours apart and at other times 15-20 mins apart. I'm hoping it will be over and done with by Friday or Saturday. Friday is my due date.

I've also had enough. I can't sleep properly. I can't eat anything without it coming back up as acid. I can't drink water without weeing every 2 seconds (that's been the case from week 12). Just want it over with now.

PinkParsnips · 06/11/2013 20:37

Hi everybody! Can I join you?

39+3 here and nothing's occurring ...

Had period pains most of the evening yesterday which got me a bit excited but today not a sausage. Haven't had my show, no twinges, no nesting instinct, no feeling of baby being particularw low....nothing! Haven't even felt any BH whatsoever! although I have noticed my bump feeling hard occasionally since last night. I just don't think this baby is in any rush at all Confused

Got midwife on Fri when I'm 39+5, was only 1/5 engaged at 37+5, not sure what the policy is here on when they offer a sweep.

Hope its not too much longer for us all!

Fakebook · 07/11/2013 10:45

Pink, is this your first baby? The hardening sounds like BH, maybe they're starting off slowly? I was offered a sweep at 40 weeks with dc1 and again at 41. I went overdue with my first and induced, was in labour on my due date with dc2 and am hoping the same for this one.

I had 2 cramps last night in bed and having been having a few this morning feeling pressure in my bum with every cramp.

It's like nothing is pushing along. I was on the exercise ball last evening and did some squatting. Today I'm going to Hoover upstairs and do some more squatting. I've got to pick dd up from school at 3pm, my biggest nightmare would be my waters breaking when I'm outside. I just want to hibernate now.

Ooh that sounds promising Fakebook, sounds like something could be happening, a slow start for you too maybe?! Fingers crossed!

How did your appt go Angus?

Yes its first baby, I thought it was baby's bum pressing out at first when my bump went hard but I think maybe it was BH. I've had a few period pains today too. Feeling quite upset today actually, been a bit worried as baby has been pretty quiet today had movement but a lot less than usual, phoned triage for advice and they were really dismissive and said as long as I felt 10 movements in a day thats fine and that babies do slow down at the end - everything that I've heard is outdated advice now - I tried a few times to explain how 10 movements a day for my baby would be extremely worrying actually as its usually very active but she really made me feel like a bit of an idiot Sad

Anyway the little bugger has woken up a bit now and I'm keeping a close eye but it made me feel like crap really. Sorry for the moan!

BummyMummy77 · 07/11/2013 16:52

Anyone else suddenly really breathless? I'm assuming he's gotten so big he's taken up all my lung space but it's only happened today.

BummyMummy77 · 07/11/2013 16:53

Quiet can mean something is happening. :)

Pink, I have a very active baby too, but s/he does have a bit quieter days sometimes. It is quite stressful when they do that though, isn't it? Try not to worry too much, I'm sure bubs is fine :)

GreenGiant3 · 07/11/2013 17:21

Bummy I've been getting a bit breathless at points the last few days too! I'm 40+4 - MW says my cervix is still pretty closed! Can this mean delayed labour? Induction booked for next week ConfusedSad

BummyMummy77 · 07/11/2013 20:03

Green- delayed f@*king WHAT?! I hope not!!

I want my lungs back!

I can't be induced until 43 weeks and that will be a nightmare as I have no medical insurance. :(

Fakebook · 07/11/2013 20:46

Wouldn't breathlessness mean the baby is still quite high up? I've still got terrible acid reflux but no breathlessness.

Pink, I know it's worrying when they stop moving for a bit. I had to listen in with the Doppler today, first time in 4 months because she hadn't moved all morning. As soon as I pressed down she started sticking her bum out!

My cramps have got more painful but still really irregular. They're also really low down in my lower belly and shoot down to my cervix and bum. I haven't even booked my 40 wk appointment for next week with the MW. I don't know if its worth bothering? It's my due date tomorrow!

BummyMummy77 · 07/11/2013 21:59

That's what I figured. :(

Acid is awful now. It's like he's moving upwards lol!

Shooting cramps sounds good. Well, not good but progress.

Babytalkobsession · 08/11/2013 06:35

Ooh glad this thread has started up again! Hi everyone, I'm 39 weeks today and starting to get a bit impatient! It seems crazy to actually want the pain to start!

Had BH/ tightenings but no show and bump still seems too high to me. Have to wait til next Fri for next MW appt so no idea what's happening down there (if anything!) actually feeling pretty comfortable so can't complain... Just desperate to get started & meet my little boy (first baby).

Pink - how are your movements now? Mine were slow yesterday so shared your worry but were strong in the night so felt a lot better.

Anyone had any overnight developments? x
