Hi all can I join in? 38+3 and extremely fed up. I'm huge, restless, irritable and have absolutely no signs of imminent labour. No BH, no mucus plug etc but did have some stabby fanjo pains last week. Baby is not engaged, still spinning round regularly (either a bum or feet sticking out at all times) and very very active. Feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever and ever Sad

sweetiepie1979 · 15/10/2013 20:44

Welcome Labrador, hang in there I'm 40 +6 with loads of signs and that dosent seem to make any difference! Last time I had no warning and went quite quickly on due date. Wasn't expecting it to be like this this time. How you feeling Donna?

LabradorMama · 16/10/2013 17:10

Thanks sweetie and donna - midwife this morning said baby is now only 3/5 palpable so at least something is happening (and explains the backache as it is still back to back)

Fingers crossed all babies get moving soon. I'm with you princess!

sillyoldfool · 16/10/2013 17:12

8 days overdue now...
It's full moon on Friday so maybe we'll all suddenly go into labour then!

sammythemummy · 16/10/2013 18:15

Some of my waters have gone at 6:45am....but still no contractions almost 12 hours later

sammythemummy · 16/10/2013 18:16

How do they check is baby is fully engaged?

sammythemummy · 16/10/2013 18:16

if

sweetiepie1979 · 16/10/2013 19:03

Hi Sammymummy they check by digging their fingers in to your pubic bone area just above. Some of your waters have broke... So do you just wait now? Did you speak to Midwife about it?
sillyoldfool, your waiting too, you had a sweep? Midwife will offer Me one tomorrow I dint know what to do?
How are you doing Donna?

star87 · 16/10/2013 20:00

Hi all, sorry no one seems to be progressing very quickly!

My waters broke at midnight, no contractionsby 10am so called the midwife unit, they told me to go in to be checked, apparently it wasnt my waters because there wasnt a gush?!?! Then fkund out that my hospital is closed to new admissions as , abour suite is closed!

Was told that I 1cm dialated and am now having strong contractions. Am hoping thus is finally the start...

sweetiepie1979 · 16/10/2013 21:51

Oh great that'd exciting, so if it wasn't your waters did you wet yourself? Good luck!

sammythemummy · 16/10/2013 23:02

Hi sweetie thanks for the info, this is my dc2 but I had my waters broken the last time so new to this part of pregnancy.

I called midwife earlier today, she told me to come in as it sounds like my waters going. I havnt gone in yet just because I wanted to wait for my contractions to start before going in, and I also thought they would have to do an internal examination which im trying to avoid.

For now im just going to wait till morning and then go in.

Good luck everyone and yay to star

sweetiepie1979 · 16/10/2013 23:37

Ok well hope you have a comfortable night x

sillyoldfool · 17/10/2013 05:48

I declined a sweep sweetie, I've had them with DD1&2 and found them really painful and they've never done anything so I'm steering clear this time.

windywoo26 · 17/10/2013 07:21

Hi Ladies, can I join in? I am 38+2 with DC2. Now want to meet the final member of our little family. DS arrived at 38 weeks exactly so expected this one to be here already. He/she is stubbornly hanging on in there though! Baby has been 3/5 engaged (2/5 palpable) for at least 3 weeks so I am pretty uncomfortable. Will have an ELCS at 41 weeks if not here by then as am a VBAC case and they won't induce me. We still have to decorate DS' new room to make way for the baby in the nursery so maybe that's what it is waiting for! DS is 19 months and am finding being heavily preggers with a v active toddler a bit hard. Today DS is at nursery for the first time since I finished work so looking forward to some quiet me time.

sweetiepie1979 · 17/10/2013 12:09

Hi windy enjoy your quiet day mine is tomorrow! How old is dc1? My DD is 2.3 and it is hard isn't it?

Hi sillyoldfool did you into Labour naturally then with your other 2 or did you have to be induced?
Midwife came to see me this morning she offered a sweep I said yes because I'd prefer that to an induction but she couldn't reach ny cervix baby is pretty much engaged but cervix not reachable. That happened when I went for sweep with dd1 and I went in to Labour that night so I don't think it means much. I'm booked for induction next Wednesday will try to go before. Maybe try acupuncture or reflexology anybody know which Is better. Having an induction seems such a faff didn't realise they send you Home after the first bit!

sweetiepie1979 · 17/10/2013 12:11

P.s Donna what's going on with you? And star and Sammy? Any progress?

windywoo26 · 17/10/2013 12:26

Hi Sweetie, DS is 19 months. It is pretty hard going. We are lucky he is a great boy and thankfully sleeps really well, which makes things much easier.

I am a similar position re cervix sweetie. MW attempted a sweep on Monday and couldn't do it as cervix high and posterior. Baby all ready to go though.

I am having reflexology this afternoon so will let you know. We had problems conceiving DS and I had reflexology and acupuncture throughout that pregnancy. I found acupuncture more effective but really like my reflexologist. I tried to get an acupuncture appt for today but my lady was fully booked so booked the reflexology instead. I have not had either treatment this time, harder to get time with a LO to find a sitter for (no family close by to ask unfortunately).

sillyoldfool · 17/10/2013 12:38

I was induced with DD1 a week after the sweep, I went into spontaneous labour with DD2 the night before I was due to be induced, which was again about a week or so after the sweep.

star87 · 17/10/2013 15:19

No progress from me, everything seems to have tailed off. Lost huge but of the plug last night and today and have been having really painful leriod type pains. Its just a waiting game... :-(

Donna1989 · 17/10/2013 15:59
