Welcome ladies, new and old. Grin May we all have dull and boring pregnancies. Pull up a chair, crack open a bottle of (non-alcoholic) wine and settle in for mutual handholding, fishslapping and neurosis.

Saggy I think a glass of milk can help, hope it buggers off soon, I've had it quite bad this week and I've been munching Rennies x

andadietcoke · 22/09/2013 03:45

Saggy I slept propped up on pillows, and took Zantac and Gaviscon like it was going out of fashion! Zantac I discovered late in the game, and it's what they give you the night before a csection to stop acid - it stops acid production rather than relieving the symptoms. Both you can get prescribed so free with mat exemption certificate.

Sorry haven't read the last umpteen pages- will do ASAP! Was just wondering if I should be worried; baby doesn't seem to be moving as much. Can feel it but just don't think as much as normal. I know we should go and get everything and anything checked out if in doubt but I'm on my own with my two little ones at the mo. What would you do? I'm off to get a can of diet coke from fridge (despite it being far too early for that in the absence of a hangover..... Hmm )

Lieslvontrapp · 22/09/2013 08:54

Great to hear from you Anda! Glad things are going well.

total great that you got your results and the all clear. Now you can relax!

saggy well done for being brave and that's really shit you could have had a cvs 10 days ago. Well hopefully your results come through tomorrow and you get the all clear too.

fod sorry to hear your being messed around. Let DH give'um what for!

Congrats on all the early scans this week - sorry can't scroll back to remember who! And welcome and congrats on the bfps to random & bargl!

Can't remember who was asking about maternity wear but I've got some stuff from top shop, new look, h&m & jojomamanbebe. Plus maternity tights from boots. I also got measured at m&s yesterday and was shocked that I've actually gone from A to D cup! So definitely get measured to double check!

Starting to do some research too on all the baby stuff we need to buy. Gosh we need so much!

IBelieveInPink · 22/09/2013 10:07

Blackholes - how are you gettin on now? Did the coke help?
I know what you mean, both times I have been I could still feel 'some' movement but nothing like normal. I couldnt relax without getting checked, and the hospital always said this was the right thing to do. I would say if you are not comfortable with the amount of movements, go in to get checked. Hope this is a bit late though, and baby has started wriggling away :)

andadietcoke · 22/09/2013 10:11

Blackholes yes to the cold coke, but eat something too - that would do it for me more frequently than cold drinks (they went mental for magnums...). Lie on your left side with no distractions and concentrate really hard on feeling something.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/09/2013 10:43

Thank you pink and anda! (anda- good to gear from you- hope all is good! Grin )

So... Diet coke didn't do anything, so had toast, orange juice, slice of cake. Now lying on left side. Can feel the odd very tiny movement but nothing like normal.

Should I ring triage?

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/09/2013 10:46

I was feeling so positive. Now my little ds is putting blankets on me and stroking my hair and I just want to cry!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 22/09/2013 10:46

Black ring now. If it's not normal get it checked out. Please I and get it checked out, you're not being paranoid, yes it might be nothing but equally it could be. How far are you now?

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 22/09/2013 10:49

So many mistakes on my phone! Blush please go and get it checked out. Having reduced movement in later pregnancy is actually a myth. You don't jut wake up one day and feel different movements*, that's not normal. Reduced movement happens over a long period so you don't actually notice. All you feel the entire time is normal. (Does that make sense?)

*you can if baby has turned or flipped but it still needs to be checked out.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/09/2013 11:01

Rang triage and mw said come in if worried. Had ice water and lay down again and can feel a bit more movement so think it's probably ok? Maybe it's the miscarriages but I just convinced myself something was really wrong Sad will see what dp says when he comes in in a bit. Thanks for being here ladies (feel bad that I haven't been on in a while!) Flowers

If you've convinced yourself there is something wrong that feeling won't go away until you get it checked out. You really should go just to put your mind at ease

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/09/2013 12:04

Aw thanks cbeebies but I had some iced water, then dp came back and baby has been kicking since! I was very worried but mw said it might have turned round (as happened with pink) and the kicks do seem to have moved so think all is ok for now. Phew.

IBelieveInPink · 22/09/2013 13:22

Good to hear kicks are back Blackholes. :) they do like to just make sure we are paying attention don't they!!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/09/2013 13:25

Pink- I feel as if baby was making sure I didn't get too complacent/positive! Thanks again xxx

Will read thread tonight. Hope everyone else is ok Flowers

kjh5 · 22/09/2013 13:27

Ha! I was very amused to log on and read about all your onesies. My mum bought me one a couple weeks ago - it's massive 'to fit around the bump' and a lurid pink with purple spots... it is also exceedingly soft. I'm definitely going to wear it :)

Blackholes glad your bubba is moving about now! As this is my first I have very little idea of what is normal... I'm hoping that once we get past the 12week scan I'll start to relax a little more about everything and maybe not worry so much because I don't know what to expect.

I have to admit that I'm feeling cautiously positive about everything at the moment (and every time I actually admit this to myself I have the fear that something dreadful is going to happen and I'm going to have been a fool for even thinking we might get a baby out of this.)

Although I will admit to freaking out a little about the amount of cramping I am having. Has anyone else experienced this at 9/10 weeks? I'd class the cramps as mild but they are very much there. I haven't had any bleeding at all since last Sat and I'm still very tired, nauseous with sore boobs (although the nausea isn't nearly as bad as it was a week ago, I'm worried it is fading). I'm trying to calm myself with the thought that I have a hospital appointment every Friday now for the next three weeks so I'll be seeing a midwife this Friday for a booking appt, next Friday for bloods and the Friday after that for the dreaded 12wk scan. So I just need to make it through the next five days without any scares!

blargl · 22/09/2013 13:55

Thanks for all the kind welcomes everyone. Just did another test. After the mc I bought a bumper pack of cheapies and the first one I used came up +! So I have loads to indulge myself in using every day and hopefully seeing the line getting darker. It was even a bit darker today and my mouth tastes v metallic. So today I am still positive....

IBelieveInPink · 22/09/2013 14:14

Kjh - yep! I distinctly remember the cramps getting bad around 10 weeks, and panicking on here that it was all going wrong! I think it was diet that reassured me as she had the same - as had a few others. Remember - lots of growing going on, try and just get some rest when you can :)

TeaAndANatter · 22/09/2013 14:24

10 weeks and still here - yay! Thrilled to share that I'm narky, sick as a pig, half-woman, half-bed, and living off scampi fries and simple carbs.

What all post mc women dream of, surely?! How's that for some posifrickingtvity!

kjh5 · 22/09/2013 15:20

Thanks Pink - so reassuring for someone just to tell you what you are experiencing is probably normal!! I really hope this neurosis subsides after the 12wk scan, I am driving myself a little insane! Yesterday I had lunch with two good friends - one of whom is getting married next year. She has just set the date and we were talking about how I'll have a three-week-old at her wedding (I was determined to go with either a bump or a baby!) So in a rush of posifrickintivity I ordered the pregnancy/baby books I have been looking at for a while and some maternity clothes - now today I'm wondering if I have jumped the gun a bit!

Thanks everyone for the all the clothes tips btw! I don't actually need any maternity stuff just yet but wanted some tummy-friendly trousers/jeans. Even though I have lost weight and my jeans are all loose on me I find anything that digs in to my stomach in any way makes me feel ill. To that end I am really impressed with Topshop's maternity skinny jeans. They are super soft, super comfy and not tight on my tummy at all. And even although I have never worn skinny jeans in my life and thought they would make me look fat, short and horrible, I have to say I really like these!

Tea Hurrah! I'll be with you on the 10week train in under 24hours... somehow getting into double digits week-wise feels reassuring :)

Pixielady83 · 22/09/2013 17:54

Glad you're getting some movement now blackholes

Random question, does anyone know if almond oil help prevent stretch marks? just found a massive bottle in my cupboard you see!

ThePFJ · 22/09/2013 18:01

6 weeks and 6 days... and I am still pregnant! Scan tomorrow to check everything is still happening in there... wish me luck xxxx

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 22/09/2013 18:47

Lieslvontrapp · 22/09/2013 18:48
