Welcome ladies, new and old. Grin May we all have dull and boring pregnancies. Pull up a chair, crack open a bottle of (non-alcoholic) wine and settle in for mutual handholding, fishslapping and neurosis.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fod27 · 21/09/2013 11:42

Phoned the number and they won't tell me anything really, it says I may need to have a blood test and to take a urine sample, also asks for me to bring my notes

Pentagon · 21/09/2013 11:59

grrrrrrrrrrrrr, fod I can't believe they're keeping you in suspense! Is the appointment soon at least?

fod27 · 21/09/2013 12:30

Nope ;( 31st October... I've spent all day googling, texting, phoning and going through my notes and still can't find anything

shellsocks · 21/09/2013 12:56

How many weeks will you be fod? Is it just your next routine MW appt?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/09/2013 12:58

Fod, being at the moment in a defiant mood, here is what I would do...
ring the number back and tell them forcefully, that you are CLIMBING THE WALLS with worry and you insist that someone tells you what is going on. if that gets you nowhere do the same with your own midwife and then the GP. Its not fair to leave you worrying!

shellsocks · 21/09/2013 13:11

Welcome blargyl and randomm and congrats Smile hope you have really uneventful pregnancies Smile

garden I would ask myself if I were you, would I be happy with a home birth as at these centres i think the same things are available to you as at home so I would think my concerns would be similar to a home birth...and it's the same issue with transfer from home/birth centre to hospital too?

Hi to everyone else, hope everyone is managing to have a relaxing stress free weekend Smile I've got a party tonight so treated myself to bright pink shellac nails and a curly blow dry....oh and a lovely new dress too Grin

Pentagon · 21/09/2013 13:15

fod they don't want to see you imminently so it can't be anything serious/worrying. But saggy's suggestion is good, try doing that and see if you get some answers. Good luck!

Forgot to say welcome and congratulations to blargyl and randomm - sorry ladies!

shell enjoy your party tonight!!

fod27 · 21/09/2013 14:08

Thanks guys, GPs is closed MW not got back intouch and hospital won't tell me anything ;( we are going straight up the Drs Monday and DH is livid he's had enough of the poor level of care - its simply making everything worse

andadietcoke · 21/09/2013 15:43

Hi everyone!!
DH has taken the babies to the rugby club so I have some time to myself for what seems like the first time in ages. Hope you're all okay. Saggy I have everything crossed for you. Fod I had some really random
Hospital appts organised when no one really knew why. It might not be related to your test results at all, or it might just be a 'you're a bit anaemic, take ferrous sulphate' appt. Try not to worry.

I'm okay. Knackered, but struggling to nap on demand, and massively overwhelmed. Have been doing more on my own, but even though DH is back at work I've had help every day this week. It's the nights that are very, very black, but they pass, quickly, and we've all survived the first three weeks. I feel awful asking DH for help when he has work the next day (he sleeps through even the worst screaming so I have to wake him up for help). I'm really hoping we'll have a nice calm night tonight as it's the one day he doesn't have to get up for work (school rugby on a Saturday). The girls are very good, generally, I could just do with them going a little bit longer between feeds - at the moment they're only both asleep at the same time for about an hour. I still can't believe they're here safely and that I have two babies. Two!
Oh, and I'm a minor celebrity wherever I go, which is nice, until someone says, for the millionth time that day, when you're at your lowest ebb 'oh you must have your hands full'!!!!

How long til the next EDDs?! Can't believe it's gone so quickly!!

IBelieveInPink · 21/09/2013 16:06

Aww hey diet. So nice to hear from you I have been wondering about you!
So great to hear you are bearing up getting on well! It must be so surreal having two wriggling babies there! How are the girls doing? And how is DH now his life is full of women?!
Think pentagon is next on the list! Getting very exciting, another 6 weeks or so and there should be a run of a few of us!

fod27 · 21/09/2013 16:06

And apparently my last set of bloods - ( depending on which incompetent 'professional' I listen to) were abnormal but required no action.... It's just sooooo frustrating I have my hands full with work and Uni as its is plus DC and running the house I really don't need this extra stress grrrrr

omri · 21/09/2013 17:00

Anda thanks for the great update. So lovely to hear the girls are well. My sister has twin girls and she says she has no memory of the first 6 wks it all went by in a sleep deprived haze- so take loads of pictures to remember them this size! Are u bottle feeding? My sis ebf the two of them for the first 6 months! (All very noble but bit of a masochist IMO)!!!

Shell sounds like you'll be the gorgeous lady with the bump at the partySmile I've been to few parties and thought wow the pg lady looks better than anyone else here!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 21/09/2013 17:06

anda so lovely to hear from you :) aw i've been thinking about you and knew you'd be doing brilliantly! does it all still seem like a bit of a dream? sounds like your dh is doing well too, i'm wondering if mine will secretly wear ear plugs when the little one comes along! don't forget that you're working the next day too, and double what all we have coming - so don't feel guilty of you have to ask him for a hand in the night. as pink says it's not long before there will be more new arrivals so keep an eye on us and give us all the advice you can if you have time :) xx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 21/09/2013 17:07

and twit twoo shell, sounds like you;ll be the belle of the ball tonight :) we have friends coming for tea and i am tempted to text them and tell them to wear their comfies! what i would do for a night in my maternity tracksuit bottoms and slippers!!

Tomkat79 · 21/09/2013 20:06

Have a great time tonight shell bet you look gorgeous!

Sorry you're going through it fod. Try to relax albeit frustrating, sure it's nothing to worry about or they would've phoned you x

BumpKitty · 21/09/2013 20:23

welcome to the newbies - as the cheshire cat says 'we're all mad here' so you are in good company :)

anda how lovely to hear from you. I know exactly what you mean about feeling overwhelmed and I only had one newborn, I'm sure you are doing great. Definitely don't feel bad about getting your DH up, work is so much less tiring than looking after babies - he can go to work for a rest Grin
'Tis incredible though that they can sleep through the screaming. When you have a minute show us another picture :)

janie and everyone else - i bought a fleece onesie this week it is incredible, I look rather like a weeble but who cares.

fod I do not blame your DH for being angry your PCT sounds shite. As pentagon says it certainly doesn't sound urgent so that is a good thing but you need to start getting cross with people (or let DH do it). You must be due a break from all this stress soon - I hope you get some answers on Monday xx

saggy you are ace - I'm so impressed at you complaining, I bet half this rubbish goes on because the women in these situations just don't have the energy to make a fuss when they are given plainly wrong information. I'm really hoping you get good news on Monday.

total i'm delighted for you xxx

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 21/09/2013 20:34

Bump kitty I saw a leopard print onsie in sainsburys today. I asked dh if he thought a larger size would I over a bump, he laughed and walked away :( I was serious!

Hello to the newbies. And congrats anda, I've not had twins but I did have 2 under 2 so can only imagine how hard it is. ask for as much help as you need from dh. It's tough having 2 little ones remember to take time out for you too

BumpKitty · 21/09/2013 20:48

yes cbeebies my DH has been less than complimentary - mine is a fetching hello kitty one - with ears. Well... it's not like I was going for the seductive look Grin

fod27 · 21/09/2013 21:53

Thanks for the supportive words guys xxxxxxxx

Pentagon · 21/09/2013 22:02

anda!!!! So good to hear from you, I've been wondering how you are! The first few weeks are very hard with one, let alone two! It sounds like you're doing a great job Smile and it does get easier, I promise! I'm next on the list (end of October) but I was 10 days late last time and a few others here are due beginning of November so you never know. Drop us a line whenever you get the chance!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/09/2013 22:27

CBeebies I had a onesie when I was PG with DD 14 years ago. trendsetter me Grin It was fantastic! Go for it! I lived in mine some days! The only things Id say are 1/ peeing at 3 am is a pain unless you get the ones with rear access, and 2/ don't bother taking it to hospital for when you have delivered. Every man and their dog wants to "just check your stitches if I may" So you need ease of access! Grin

IBelieveInPink · 21/09/2013 23:50

Bump - I have the exact same onesie! DH bought it for me when I was first pg, in big size so there would be room for bump! I finally fill it :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/09/2013 00:46

I have apalling heartburn tonight. im scared to lie down! Sad someone told me to take a spoonful of honey. it has definitely helped!!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 22/09/2013 01:03

Ooh I'm so excited it's nearly cold enough to bring out the onesies!! I have an incredibly attractive leopard print one, I'm hoping it's going to fit over Le Bump, might go and try now :)

Bump was yours a maternity one or just a size or 2 up? My problem is I'm 5'9'' so I think mine is the biggest size from primark...otherwise it's wedgie central!

Hope you all had a good Saturday, out dinner guests are just away and I'm a zombie! Good fun though :) Night night all xxx

Rockchick1984 · 22/09/2013 01:19

Saggy cheap vanilla ice cream gets rid of heartburn for me. Apparently love hearts are good too, however the only ones I've seen so far this time around have been One Direction special edition thingies, I couldn't bring myself to buy them!
