Welcome ladies, new and old. Grin May we all have dull and boring pregnancies. Pull up a chair, crack open a bottle of (non-alcoholic) wine and settle in for mutual handholding, fishslapping and neurosis.

OP posts:

Good for you Saggy, I think it's lovely that you are thinking of other ladies out there rather than winding yourself up by gunning for someone. I hope it makes a difference and stops someone else going through what you went through and means that midwife actually learns right from wrong x

fod27 · 20/09/2013 22:36

Totally think your doing the right thing saggy hooe your taking care of yourself cxx

blargl · 21/09/2013 06:43

Hi everyone, can I say a very tentative hello? After an ectopic last year and a mmc in july I got a faint line on an Internet cheapie today....
I'm v v nervous....

randdom · 21/09/2013 07:18

I'm feeling a bit anxious about posting anything to be honest. I got a positive test this morning which would put my edd at the end of may. I had a spontaneous mc at 7 weeks in may. Am worried it will happen again :(

omri · 21/09/2013 07:54

Welcome randdom and blargl! Congratulations on your pregnancies! Grin You're in the right place for handholding. We're all still going through the fear but have great support and chats on this thread.
The mantra is today I am pregnant Smile

blargl · 21/09/2013 07:57

Thanks omri - yep I think I can only look one day at a time. I was lucky and got pg on the 2nd cycle...hope the luck sticks...

Pixielady83 · 21/09/2013 08:20

Firstly welcome new ladies! Congratulations on your bpfs xxx Smile

Wow some very astute thoughts here helping me sort my own out this morning, thanks ladies!

martha I totally understand why you would want to remove any uncertainty after your experiences, that is totally on my mind after only one loss, and is a pro in the c section list. Also you verbalised my biggest fear about vbac perfectly. It's unlikely to be water based (unless they agree to home birth) as they have told me they really want continuous fetal monitoring due to previous section. That was always my preference especially with my SPD, its meant to be the best way to ease hips and pelvis. Last time I couldn't open my legs very far or support my weight for very long. If its like that again how likely am I going to be able to find good pushing positions? So I'm scared stiff of forceps and possible long term pelvic damage from use of them Sad as you say, if a natural birth can't be all birth centre and candles due to other complications maybe it is time to accept c section. Also, it struck me this morning, and then I came and read saggy's post that this is not primarily about me, it is about getting our baby here as safely as possible. But I am going to read the website rock put here yesterday and I am going to try and find some ladies who have given birth naturally with SPD to talk to also. On the other hand the thought of staying in hospital post section makes me Sad because it was rubbish last time and I fear it would be game over for breastfeeding again, my milk never properly came in despite weeks of trying (including days of only bf) and I think the sleepiness of DD from drugs had a big impact on that, and possibly the shock for my body after a section. However I know others have bf successfully after cs, I just don't know how likely it is for us Sad

Sorry completely self centred post but although I'm only 17 wks tomorrow I am agonising over this. I've got vbac clinic and consultant in next 2wks as well so I guess that's why I'm a bit anxious about it. Sorry ladies Blush

Pixielady83 · 21/09/2013 08:24

On a lighter note, garden the thought of you giving birth in your garden stream made me Grin that would be very very natural!

Also when I read birthing centre my head always thinks garden centre and that makes me Grin too.

Chocolateteabag · 21/09/2013 08:25

Morning all - this is a completely off topic post but have to share

50% off lovely wooden toys etc on Letterbox

It's from the Christmas bargains thread - as I'm super anal organised have been starting to get mine already. Have got DS a Space Station and stocked up on present drawer things but they have some lovely wooden kitchens and accessories too

Garden - my nearest hospital has just started consultations again to get rid of their consultant led part and just be MW led. While I didn't need a doctor with DS, I did like the idea that they were a 2 min corridor ride away and not a 20 min blue light ride in potential snow. Not sure what we will do when it comes to it.

Pixielady83 · 21/09/2013 08:33

Ooh I need to find that thread thanks tea love a bit of early Christmas organisation me Grin why aren't there any Christmas emoticons?!

fod27 · 21/09/2013 08:38

Welcome newbies!! Congratulations on your pregnancies!!!! Take care of yourselves, they are all wonderful on here and no concern or question goes unanswered xxxxx

Chocolateteabag · 21/09/2013 08:50

Totally addictive!

Hello to all the newbies and congratulations on your BFP's Flowers

Tomkat79 · 21/09/2013 09:15

Welcome blargyl and randomm, congratulations. It's ok to be scared but we all know what you're going through. Vent any concerns and ask any questions, we'll listen Grin

Love the letterbox stuff, bargains!

Pixielady83 · 21/09/2013 10:07

choc that's awesome, I've already seen three things to buy for Christmas! I have DD birthday in Nov too although pretty sorted for that already. I want that wooden space rocket on letterbox for ME let alone DD! Grin

Tomkat79 · 21/09/2013 10:12

Quick question...week 7 and I'm itching like mad! Especially back and legs....got little bumps come up where I've clawed myself silly. Anyone else had this?

fod27 · 21/09/2013 10:15

I had that in my last pregnancy... Are you itching on the soles of your feet? Palms of hands?

Tomkat79 · 21/09/2013 10:25

No fod, just everywhere else!

omri · 21/09/2013 10:30

Hi tomkat I had that too- so annoying. cold damp facecloths on my legs, arms etc were the only things that soothed. Went after couple of weeks

fod27 · 21/09/2013 10:34

I have a question.... I may be worrying about nothing but I've recieved a letter through the post - its a appointment notification at the maternity ante natal clinic ( its doesn't say why or what it's regarding) we already have our anomaly scan booked for November... Is this normal?

fod27 · 21/09/2013 10:35

That's good then tomkat If you do itch There contact you GP straight away www.life123.com/parenting/pregnancy/miscarriage/pregnancy-rash.shtml this may also help

Pentagon · 21/09/2013 10:51

fod congratz on your 13w scan! They should have invited you for a repeat scan early next week in order to get the down's syndrome screening done - you don't want to wait 3 more weeks for the other blood tests...don't remember what it's called and it's less reliable I think...sorry to hear you're being messed around with your results - what's up with that?! You should definitely complain to your lovely GP.

garden the midwife led unit is part of our hospital so I don't have the dilemma you're facing. I understand your concerns though, I would feel the same and wouldn't know what to do. I hope you have more answers after your visit.

thanks for the link choc - awesome!

Pentagon · 21/09/2013 10:59

I forgot to say saggy well done for complaining (can't believe you wasted 10 days and ended up having a CVS anyway due to someone's incompetence) and I hope you have lots of distraction this weekend, making the wait less torturous.

anda where are you?! I hope everything is OK!

fod27 · 21/09/2013 11:21

Goes anyone know who I can ask about my letter situation?

Pentagon · 21/09/2013 11:38

fod isn't there a phone number in your letter to call in case you can't make the time and date suggested?

Could it be an appointment to just view the facilities? That's the only thing I received at around that time (if I remember well)
