Welcome ladies, new and old. Grin May we all have dull and boring pregnancies. Pull up a chair, crack open a bottle of (non-alcoholic) wine and settle in for mutual handholding, fishslapping and neurosis.

Grin Thank God for that kjh. Sooo pleased everything is ok. What a relief xx

kjh5 · 16/09/2013 11:31

Try not to worry too much Nobodies the HGC levels in early pregnancy can vary quite drastically from person to person. At least she checked you out and you have a scan booked in for Wednesday. Keeping Fx that everything goes ok for you xx

christine and chocolate there is no way she will have forgotten - she is a ninja that one Grin

kjh i have been thinking of you this morning and am delighted that you saw your bean. Onwards and upwards and posifrickintivity Smile

nobodies hang in there - i agree with the others that they are just being cautious and your hcg does vary from person to person.

I have been stuck in a training course this morning (three hours !!) and felt sick and dizzy the whole time but also

Good luck tomorrow katatonic Smile all the way x

Rockchick1984 · 16/09/2013 12:36

KJH so glad it went well for you!

Nobodies please also be aware that if you are only 5-6 weeks you may not see a heartbeat yet - that's completely normal at such an early stage! I'm sure you already knew this, but thought I'd mention it just in case as I know it'd make me panic in your shoes. Good luck for Wednesday.

I've ordered a proper Doppler rather than just using the cheap Summer one I had when I was pregnant with DS. Not cheap but can recoup most of the cost selling it on when I no longer need it. However, last night felt external kicks (well, flutters) for the first time! I've felt them occasionally for the last few weeks, but last night was the first time DH has been able to feel them! It was the first time I've actually let myself think that I may get a baby at the end of this pregnancy...

GuffSmuggler · 16/09/2013 13:06

That's greats news kat, what an awful worry for you though. Being PG after MC is a whole load of new stress though isn't it!

nobodies glad they have booked you a scan, try not to worry doesn't sound like the gynae had any basis for her concern..

Welcome sazza congrats on your BFP.

BumpKitty · 16/09/2013 13:33

So pleased for you kjh, just typical it all had to happen at the weekend.

Welcome sazza :)

Pentagon · 16/09/2013 13:40

great news kjh! I was thinking of you this morning (had an antenatal class) - so glad everything is OK! 3 more weeks to go till your 12-week scan but bear in mind that the risk is miscarriage is now very, very low.

welcome sazza and congratulations! I hope everything goes well!

nobodies I know very little about hgc levels but I think the important thing is that they're doubling rather than the figure itself. Good luck with your scan on Wednesday!

kat and blackberry (I think you enquired about it yesterday or the day before) good luck with the harmony test. I had it done in April and it was money well-spent. kat I also had a late afternoon appointment - needless to say I couldn't concentrate on anything that day!

kjh5 · 16/09/2013 18:25

Thanks so much everyone, just at home taking it easy. DH has taken the day off work so it was really nice just to mooch around at home - and he is currently cooking me dinner. Although I keep shouting instructions to him from the sofa, he is not appreciating my backseat cooking! I told work I wouldn't be in until tomorrow evening... boss was lovely. Said he was worried about me and not to come in if I am not up to it. But then all he knows is I have been at the hospital. I am going to have to tell him what is going on tomorrow and just ask him to keep it under his hat until the 12 week scan... feel a bit nervous about that.

Mind you, almost all our close friends know now - all have guessed due to me not drinking. martha I'm such a dreadful liar that I just couldn't blag my way out of everyone finding out at the wedding I went to on Sat! So clearly not as good as you. Hopefully ninja friend keeps it quiet for you! DH's parent's still don't know which I feel bad about but he really doesn't want to tell them until we know for sure everything is going to be fine. Lord alone knows what they thought when I was sobbing my eyes out in the spare room on Sat night.

Kat I am sure everything is going to go really well for you tomorrow afternoon. Admittedly waiting can be really nerve-wracking, hope you have lots planned to keep yourself occupied x

Swangirl · 16/09/2013 22:14

kjh Great news on the scanGrin

Kat Good luck with the scan tomorrow.

IBelieveInPink · 16/09/2013 23:16

Well, that was a fun evening in hospital, due to reduced movements. Of course, baby gave the heart monitor a good kick.
Scan tomorrow for reassurance. So why does this terrify me?!
Hope everyone's days have been good ones, and we are all staying posifrickentivity! (I am, of course, Being prosifrckentive and not scared at all, no no).

fod27 · 16/09/2013 23:51

Sounds scary Ibip I'm quite worried myself atm as my energy levels are up and other than constipation I have no pregnancy symptoms ;(

Tomkat79 · 17/09/2013 00:12

fod isn't it supposed to be that way in the 2nd trimester? X

fod27 · 17/09/2013 00:34

tom I hope so ;( it's been 10 years since I last gave birth and I can't remember anything,,, I wish I felt crsppy and pregnant than well and not

GardenWorm · 17/09/2013 07:25

How you doing this morning Pink? I'm sure all is well in there, it's about now that the movements change a bit/lessen due to them growing. Mine have become more of a hoofing combined with some uncomfortable turning instead of the more pleasant flurry of gentle kicks and punches! What time is your scan?

Someone else has one today too I think? Sorry cant remember who (slaps wrist). Good luck!

xxx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 17/09/2013 08:07

Aw pink sorry you had a worrying time, glad they're bringing you in again for another wee look today. Let us know how you get on. As garden says its more than likely due to less room for the wee imps to lash out, I didn't notice anything yesterday as I was so busy at work and started to panic when I realised, then as soon as I sat on the settee last night it gave me a right good doof in the belly button.

After my trip to the hospital for the same reason, the EOU advice was: If in doubt, do the coke test: have a really big glass of ice cold coke (or similar sugary drink-not diet), then lock yourself in a darkened room and lie on your left hand side for 2 hours minimum with NO distractions. No tv, no radio, no nothing. If you feel no movements at all then call the midwife and they may ask you to come in just to double check. They also advised me that all pregnancies are different so the numbers and timings if one persons kicks can be totally different to the next persons so try not to compare your kicks with those of others. Here Endeth today's lesson!

IBelieveInPink · 17/09/2013 08:12

Heading in for a scan now. Got a nice early appointment! Of course she is giving my ribs a good kick this morning! Monkey.

Yeah they got me to do the ice cold water test yesterday. Got a few more wriggles, but nothing like the usual party that goes on, so they wanted me in anyway.

On the plus side - the hospital so lovely and reassuring, nothing too much trouble. I didn't feel like I was making a fuss at all if that makes sense, was nice.

jojopea · 17/09/2013 09:19

Hello everyone, hope you don't mind if I join you. And congratulations for all your bfps and good luck to those of you with upcoming scans or waiting for test results.

In theory I am 6 wks although I'm not convinced I'm properly pg or it's gone already. I've had a couple of MCs last one in May (over the spring bank holiday so nothing open for three days!) and I'm terrified now about this one. I was felling a bit sick last week but now nothing other than being tired, although that could easily be due to not sleeping. We have just moved to a new area so I don't know how things work here, I saw new GP last week and explained my history and she said she would refer me for an early scan but I've not heard anything since, where I used to live it was self referral so at least I knew I was on someone's list somewhere, now I wouldn't even know who to call if something did happen. I feel absolutly helpless.

sorry for paronoid opening rant, I will read back and catch up with how everyone's doing. Thanks for having me xx

IBelieveInPink · 17/09/2013 09:33

Hi jojo, welcome to the gang!

So, scan update. She's huge! And in a weird position, hence lack of movements. Bless. But all healthy which is the most important thing of course :)
But already (at 31 and half weeks) 4lb 8! Bit scared about the whole birth bit now!
