ChristineDaae · 02/09/2013 19:59

Great news Kat!! And hello to any newbies I've missed.
Gary lovely name. And god job on getting a well behaved DH! A friends DH went to register their DS last week and came home with an extra middle name on baby's birth cert that friend hates!Shock

TeaAndANatter · 02/09/2013 20:03

Yay kat and kitten, very pleased for you!

Could someone possibly add me on to the list whenever a new one gets done, if that's okay? I'm a DS, DD, 1MMC, 20th April (ish)

kjh5 · 02/09/2013 20:51

Oh fuckity fuck! Just been to the loo and am bleeding a little. Light pinkish colour. I'm trying very hard not to panic and remind myself other people have had this and it has all been fine. Am at work as well which is the worst as I'm having to pretend everything is ok. God I just want to lock myself away somewhere and cry.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 02/09/2013 21:13

Hurrah Kat!

Bump, I had words with Kate & Wills, I think them using it is what put me off it for so long (it was always top of our shortlist).

Christine, that's terrible (how bad was the name?), DH really wanted to use his mum's maiden name (it's a boys name, not a surnamey name) as a middle name & I sort of expected it to make it onto the certificate!

(((kjh5))), have you got any cramping? How much blood? Please try not to panic (I know, I know...) Keeping my fingers tightly crossed that it's nothing, when are you off work? x

Rockchick1984 · 02/09/2013 21:13

Please don't panic Kjh I'm sure its nothing to worry about! How far along are you, have you already had any scans? I know its tough being in work but at least you can stay busy - although if you can't face being there then honestly, but yourself and the baby first and just go home - vomiting and diarrhoea is a reason to go suddenly that no one will argue with!

ChristineDaae · 02/09/2013 21:18

Kjh - I had some bleeding last week, all is fine, in fact my DD got to feel baby move for the first time yesterday. Is there a lot of blood.

Gary - it was pretty awful to be honest! I'd have gone MENTAL if it was me!

impatientlywaiting · 02/09/2013 21:27

Hi all,

Stumbled upon this thread this afternoon and had a quick read through. Popped back tonight to see how you'd got on Kat and so pleased to hear that everything was going well.

I also got slightly confused when I thought that everyone was saying what a lovely name Gary was? I have nothing against the name, but can't imagine a little baby being called it. It all became clear that you were all saying what a lovely name Alexander is which made much more sense as that's a gorgeous name and congratulations on his arrival Gary.

Kjh sorry to hear of your spotting, I know this is easier said than done but try not to worry, get in touch with your EPAU tomorrow and try to remember that so many people with healthy pregnancies have spotting at some point.

I'm here after a miscarriage at 5 weeks in July. Now 5 weeks pregnant again, had a bit if a wobble today when I saw some beige/brown discharge as that was how my MC started last time, however it seems to have passed and not turned into anything else so I'm trying to stay positive and take my own advice and not worry.

Due date is 1st May 13 - this will be first DC.

MotorcycleMama · 02/09/2013 21:34

marthasharbour just to let you know that seeing your name led me to putting on my All About Eve album (vinyl) on Sunday - great to hear after all these years! Glad to hear that the bleeding has stopped.

kat that is fantastic news! Congratulations. Hope you can relax a bit now.

As for me, 12 week scan was fine. Baby is measuring as it should, with strong heartbeat and lots of wriggles. I am so relieved. I now feel that I can put the past behind me and get on and enjoy this pregnancy. I've been living with and tormented by memories of the mmc since I got my BFP so it has been impossible to relax, but hopefully I can move on now.
Can I wish you all the very best for healthy pregnancies and happy endings, and thank you for wonderful support.

kjh5 · 02/09/2013 21:37

Thanks ladies - it was just a light pink bit if spotting and I'm not really having any cramping so logically I know I needn't start worrying just yet but this is how the last MC started so the panic is settling in a bit. It seems to have stopped now so I'll stick it out at work I think rock and go to the hospital tomorrow just to put my mind at rest. I did do a 50min workout for the fist time in a month today. It was a low impact ante natal one but it might have triggered a bit of bleeding.

I have an early scan booked for Sat (I'm 7wks on the nose today) so at least it's not too long to wait.

christine I remember you being worried last week - so happy to hear all is good with you.

Gary my last post was meant to be an enthusiastic one about your lovely name choice until I went to the loo and had a self-induced panic attack! Alexander is one of my top choices! Excellent name :)

kjh5 · 02/09/2013 21:39

motor just read your post and it cheered me up no end! So happy to hear all is well with you!

Welcome impatiently everyone here is super lovely and supportive so grab a chair and settle in.

BumpKitty · 02/09/2013 21:40

ooh brilliant news motor i'm very pleased for you.

kjh sorry you are having a worrying time but everyone is right - this is most likely to be absolutely nothing. Call the EPAU tomorrow and get seen xxx

gary I'd have definitely still gone with Alexander, after all how many middle names of any other royal do you know!

BirdsDoIt · 02/09/2013 22:43

Hello ladies, just catching up after a weekend away and wanted to say YAY to brilliant scan news for kat and motor! So pleased for you both!! Hope you are both having a well deserved happy evening now!

(Although fish slap for you kat after your POAS frenzy!! how much did your DH spend on pg tests this morning? Hmm?)

kjh try not to fret (I know, easy to say, but everyone's right that it's almost certainly nothing) - and as bumpkitty says do get it checked out at your epu - they may well offer you a scan to put your mind at rest.

martha I hope you're doing ok now and you too lucky.

Told close family this weekend (I'm 9 weeks now) as it was a big boozy three days away together and eyebrows would have been raised if I hadn't been drinking - all very happy but still felt a bit weird, like it might be on false pretences - maybe this will change after 12 week scan.

On a very unglamorous note, I am SO bloated! Quite nauseous and intermittently retching/sicky burps (mmm nice) but the near-constant indigestion pain and barrel like tummy is really doing my head in. I look about 20 weeks pregnant and it's just air. DH calls it my wind baby. Anyone got any tips for dealing with this uncomfortable state of affairs? Mint tea seems to help a bit but not exactly a miracle cure. Midwife said I just had to put up with it. Great. (Though obviously pleased to have some symptoms!)

BirdsDoIt · 02/09/2013 22:44

And welcome to the batshit crazy gang, impatiently!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/09/2013 00:52

Birds my mum has been doing some research recently, and apparently, peppermint relaxes your stomach and its valves and can actually make reflux/biliousness worse. Try some fruit flavoured rennies or the non mint Gaviscon. Ive been told to sip warm water. That might also help a bit.

Birds - you can also get Ranitidine tablets on the supermarket shelf now - tesco do an own brand. Have not checked if ok when pg but one little tablet makes a massive difference to me if I have indigestion.
