TeaAndANatter · 29/08/2013 19:36

Hi anda, and congratulations! My first went into SCBU on CPAP (ventolation kind of support for breathing), and it was on a different floor and building in the hospital, and I couldn't go see him unless I was 'allowed'. It felt really surreal being surrounded by other people with their babies and visitors, and my 'visitors' were at SCBU checking on the baby. Very, very weird time. I heard my next-door bed visitors whispering loudly , 'where's HER [my] baby', and then they had a loud hissed discussion about whether I'd had it adopted or it had died. Grimbo.

Amazing job carrying and bearing your babies, and hoping you are together very soon. All my love x

MarthasHarbour · 29/08/2013 19:36

Before i introduce myself i want to give anda a big hug. I haven't yet read the entire thread but just the last few posts and feel a bit rude joining in at this stage, however i wish you all the best and know you will be hugging your baby girls sooner than you know it.

Thanks Thanks Thanks

Sooooo. I have wanted to join this thread for about two years, i keep seeing you in my active feed and get all Envy as i wanted to be part of you. (the pregnancy bit not the MC bit IYKWIM)

I am 40 years old, had my first MC at 9 weeks in March 2011, then two CPs, and then I sadly had a stillbirth MC at 21 weeks in September 2012. We have basically been TTC since January 2011. We have a DS who has just turned 4 (starting school next week - )

Anyway, I got a BFP this afternoon Grin DH and i are still shellshocked. Funnily enough i used your mantra (which i remember from the MC boards) 'today i am pregnant'. We have both agreed to some positivity this time, and every day we are going to thank our lucky stars that we have made it (if we do make it)

I have already worked out my EDD is 7 May. I am only 4+1 but meh! I am going to plan plan plan and be positive. I really dont know whether this is going to work out or not, but i have to be positive. too-many positives!

So may i join in? If it helps i cook and make an awesome lemon cheesecake

Smile

Anda, congratulations on your frickin amazing news!! Rest assured what you're feeling is totally normal; you've had a massive upheaval and you aren't with your beautiful girls. But no sympathy here, pull yourself together! Wink only joking because of what you said. They are amazing weights for twins, really they are, and that is all down to you. I hope you get to see them and hold them soon as I can't imagine how it feels having them
In a different place Sad

We are all thinking of you and sending you loads of love xxx

Welcome, Martha!! you've come at a good time. This thread = babies Grin fingers crossed yours will be one of them xxx

shellsocks · 29/08/2013 20:08

anda so so happy for you GrinGrinGrin I'm sorry you are not with your two little girls but as others have said take this time to rest and hopefully you will be with them soon. What a lovely family you have made, be proud of yourself and big love to you, Stu, Charlotte and Sophie xxx

ChristineDaae · 29/08/2013 20:32

Anda, massive congratulations!!! I can't wait for the snugly baby update Grin
Martha, glad you finials got to join us (again, the pg bit, not the MC bit!)

Right, I need some virtual slaps I think. I had a nightmare last night about losing the baby. I have just been the toilet and there are bits if spotting blood, discharge is a bit pink-ish. Iv not been feeling baby regularly enough to judge if all ok from that. Someone please tell me it's all just a silly coincidence?

Forester · 29/08/2013 20:47

Anda congratulations. Hopefully you are already giving them cuddles. My DD was in NICU for first few days and remember trying to give her cuddles while she was attached to numerous wires. But all that was soon a distant memory once she was home.

Really pleased you've been able to join us Martha. I also have a 4yo (DD) and have been TTC since Jan 11 - but with one MMC earlier this year. Not sure whether your DS is similar but my DD has been nagging for a baby brother or sister - admittedly because it's something all her friends have rather than her understanding what it would really mean to her!

I'm sure it's just a coincidence Christine - I had MMC but I think an earlier post said it's only heavy bleeding where you need to be concerned.

I've finally got a date for my 12 week scan - 11 September. Still feels an awful long time away but at least I can start counting down the days. It's been good to read about the positive scans that have happened over the last couple of days.

IBelieveInPink · 29/08/2013 20:53

Diet - lovely it's completely understandable you feel that way. Major operation and all! Congratulations though! You have your girls (beautiful names - I would pick those 2 exactly if DH didnt have a say!) and you will be with them as soon as possible. So proud of you for getting here, well done. X

Martha - congratulations, wonderful to have you here.

Christine - it is a silly coincidence. Honestly. However if you are worried, call midwife. It may put your mind at rest and make everything okay. X

MarthasHarbour · 29/08/2013 21:13

Blackholes i think we were on the same MC boards (the moshpit) as i remember your name (i was the Muse fan whose DH got crushed at Glasto for 9 hours to see them in 2004!).

Christine with all due respect (as we have just met and all) but i am going to slap you with a wet fish about the dream, but give you a virtual soothe of the brow regarding the spotting. How far along are you? Could it be old blood? I agree you should give the MW a call - i had this with DS at 10 weeks and the MW told me to rest up for 24 hours and call again if it got worse. She did say that this happens ALL the time and you might just have been overdoing things.

YY Forester my DS has been nagging for ages for a baby brother or sister. He has talked about it loads though in the last 2/3 weeks (telling me that i have a baby in my belly Hmm - although that is just because i have put a bit of weight on and am a bit flabby!! Grin). It was so sad last year as he knew i was PG, and kept talking to my belly going 'hello babyyyyyy', then we had to explain to him what had happened. Amazingly though the little ones seem to take news like this in their stride.. he still asks about him now Sad However we will tell him about this latest development when we tell everyone else (approx 8-9 weeks when i get the bump) as he needs to know if there is upheaval if it happens again

DH and i have just worked out it was a year ago tomorrow that we had the 20 week scan when they said Baby J was poorly - the anniversary of the MC is next week (he died in-utero a few days later)... it's like a weird circle of life.. Hmm

But lets look forward - Happy times ahead Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 21:30

Martha welcome! Why an epic wait you had! I'm so glad to see you here today. Xx
Christine its probably just an erosion. The hormones thin the akin of the cervix and make it friable. It doesn't affect the pg at all.
It's always worth getting checked out, and who knows, you might get an extra scan but a bit of spotting is quite normal!

GardenWorm · 29/08/2013 22:01

So many congratulations on the arrival of your beautiful girls Anda. You have done an amazing job nurturing nearly 14llb of baby. It must be awful being away from them but they have their Daddy looking after them now and he will be doing you proud I'm sure. I hope you get reunited very soon. Be gentle on yourself, the hormones are raging, you've had a massive operation, and you have been under a whole load of stress for the last 8/9 months, what you are feeling is totally normal. Congratulations again to you and your family sweet pea xxx

Bodicea · 29/08/2013 22:11

Congratulations anda. so happy for you. I hope you will get to be with your lovely little girls soon. Sending you lots of love and hugs. How awsome to have our first twins xxxxxx

Pentagon · 30/08/2013 00:50

anda huge congratulations!! I'm sorry you're apart from your baby girls, I can imagine how hard and upsetting it is but they're with their daddy - you've done all the work, let him do something for a change! Wink - and they're being look after in the best possible way. I'm sure you'll be reunited very soon and then everything will seem better! We are soooooooooooo proud of you! Please keep us updated! Lovely names too, by the way Smile

martha welcome & congraz on your BFP! What a journey you've had to get here - you sound amazingly strong and I love your posifrickintivity! I hope you have a boring, uneventful pregnancy!

Christine, I'm sure it's just a coincidence and it doesn't sound like anything bad but call your midwife in the morning just to put your mind at rest. I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.x

pumpkinsweetie · 30/08/2013 04:08

Massive congratulations anda welldone on bringing 2 beautiful babies into the worldSmileThanks
I hope you are reunited with your girls soon so you can become your own little family! And i absolutely love the names you have chosen, they are beautifulSmile
I'm sure your girls are getting the bestest care and they will hopefully be out of special care soon so that you can be with them, must be very hard to be parted from them.
Best wishes on being a great mummy to your girlsSmile

Chocolateteabag · 30/08/2013 07:36

So happy that your little ladies are out safe Anda - hopefully you have been able to see them by now and are in your own room Flowers

IBelieveInPink · 30/08/2013 09:00

It occurred this morning that we are all now one step closer to the top of the list!! Whose next? Bump, shell, pentagon, you all ahead of me aren't you, which one is closest? :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 30/08/2013 09:04

WOOHOO! I am 12 weeks today! Grin
Now, do I go public now? Or wait another 10 days for my scan?
What do you think girls?

OP posts:
shellsocks · 30/08/2013 09:10

Ooo pink the list...are you on a computer to update for our lovely new additions?

saggy I would wait now, but we told everyone first time before scan and I don't regret it at all even tho it was MMC, so it's up to how you feel? You sound posifrickintive so maybe just go for it Grin

shellsocks · 30/08/2013 09:10

How are you all this morning anda hope you all had a restful night x

Rockchick1984 · 30/08/2013 09:11

Congratulations Anda they are brilliant weights for twins!! Beautiful names, hope you're having lovely snuggles with them now.

Saggy whoop whoop, huge achievement!! I felt like 12 weeks was a real milestone. Personally I went for telling a few more people at 12 weeks but most after scan, purely because mine had been a MMC so didn't feel truly happy until after the scan, but its really up to you.

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow, so I think that means today is the last day of my first trimester???
