Ha garden that would be so funny if I did!!!

Bump I'm glad you said that, makes me feel a lot better for giving away the machine that does a quick wash in 8 hours ha!!! It'll have a lovely slow paced life on that farm x

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 17:36

Yes Janie there is a washing machine sanctuary down the road from me! You can see them all roaming free in the field when you drive past! Wink
I've had the other end of the hormonal spectrum today! DP got both barrels after attempting to Hoover. He does it regularly, and NEVER empties the drum. It's a brand new Hoover. The crap was pro lapsing back up the hose! I went POSTAL! Blush

I feel like we're all sat on plastic chairs in a waiting room nattering about washing machines whilst waiting for anda's twin news Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 17:57

I know! I've never been so excited about a complete stranger having babies I will never see! Grin I do feel like we are all virtual friends though! That's just as good!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 18:21

Watch out for 3rd degree burns, and it tastes a bit chicken soupy, I don't think the nozzle has been cleaned in a while...

GardenWorm · 29/08/2013 18:22

I often think this (i.e the story of the thread and it's people) would make a hilarious film...and I'm not just saying that because it would be a good marketing tool for my maternity advent calendar Grin.

I've got sugar rush from the 5 chocolate bars I've had from the virtual vending machine in this waiting room, saggy does you crap coffee machine also dish out that minging powdered orange juice?

....just popping out to speak to Richard Curtis about the script Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 18:27

OP posts:
JanieLovesLuckySocks · 29/08/2013 18:30

kjh5 · 29/08/2013 18:34

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 18:43

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 18:44

All joking aside, I've just remembered that I have a knitting pattern for the CUTEST, baby ugg boots in a really gorgeous soft lambs wool! I really have to find that!

Hi... I've been trying to get up the courage to post for the last few hours.

Charlotte was born at 10.52 this morning weighing 5lb5oz, followed by her sister Sophie at 10.54 weighing 7lb13oz.

Both are currently in the neonatal unit on drips for fluids and antibiotics plus oxygen as they're struggling with their breathing. I've not been able to see them yet, but Stu is with them. I'm on a ward upstairs with other mums and their babies and I feel a bit bereft - every time a baby cries I burst into tears. Should get my own room in the morning though. I feel empty and quite distant from everything. Need more painkillers!! Everyone is being really lovely, but the sympathy is killing me - I'm fine until someone is nice to me!!

We've only told family so far that we've had them - I can't cope with the barrage of texts that will inevitably follow, but at the same time I can't bear to suggest that everything's fine.

Meh. Sorry. Feel like I've let the side down somehow! Will hopefully update with better news after I've been down to see them.

You're all lovely - I read Stu all your messages earlier. It helped us a lot to know people were thinking of us xxx

BirdsDoIt · 29/08/2013 18:49

Hello ladies, can I join the party in the waiting room? Cup of stale tasting orange juice for me please. Ye gods, is that a wild washing machine I see in the field outside?

You're all quite nuts and I love this thread Grin

Read everyone's posts this morning and cried a little bit (on the Tube) when I read anda's. Actually welling up now thinking about her babies arriving (and i'm on the train again - are these public transport linked hormones?) I can't believe she may be giving them a cuddle as I type!! anda your pre-op outfit sounded pretty damn sexy, I hope photos were taken Smile

jmf294 · 29/08/2013 18:52

Andadietcoke- congratulations my lovely on your 2 wonderful girls. I can't begin to imagine how hard it is when they are in SCBU but they are great weights and I'm sure they will be fine very soon. They are safe and being looked after and you look after you, get strong and you will be home very soon with your girls.
I love love the names- not that I'm biased of course ( having a Sophie myself, and my 2nd favourite name being Charlotte.
Will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers and hope you all are doing better very soon. Xxxx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 18:52

Don't be sad! You've got two amazing babies! Just think how far you have come my love! If I get as far as you I will be overjoyed!
You've had an anaesthetic, and surgery, and weeks of worry and anticipation. You are bound to be feeling tired, shocked and emotional. Turn off your phone and try and rest. The rest of your life starts here! Grin {{{hug}}}

BirdsDoIt · 29/08/2013 18:53

Oh anda disastrous cross post of mine, sorry! You poor thing. We'll keep you company, don't worry, and I'm sure your beautiful babies are getting the best possible care. Big hug xxxx

BumpKitty · 29/08/2013 18:54

anda don't you dare think you've let us down - you've been through an operation and you're separated from your babies no wonder you are feeling very fragile and out of it.
Do you know when you'll be allowed to go and see them? They are both with their daddy though and I'm sure they are being very well looked after.
Huge amounts of love to you all xxx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 18:55

Sorry, just saw the bit about sympathy....
Come on now, chin up, get some rest... Wink

OP posts:
GuffSmuggler · 29/08/2013 19:22

Oh well done anda you have done brilliantly and they are fantastic weights!!

I understand it must feel totally surreal having them in SCBU, it felt strange enough when I had DS next to me, I just still couldn't believe I'd had a baby and I cried and cried. It's a crazy, emotional, hormonal explosion having a baby let alone 2!!

Be kind to yourself and don't feel like any of your emotions aren't normal, they are I promise you.

GuffSmuggler · 29/08/2013 19:23

Oh and I'm off to pack as we're on hols tomorrow and I'm going to have an internet break.

Look forward to catching up on lots more news when I'm back.

kjh5 · 29/08/2013 19:24

Oh Anda I ran out the office to get some food and am currently crying in nandos after reading your post. But it's happy crying because your beautiful babies are here and to echo what everyone else has said - I'm sure they are being well looked after and watched over by their dad. You have done such an amazing job! I hope you rest up an that you will be holding your beautiful girls in next to no time xxx

RainbowConnections · 29/08/2013 19:33

Congratulations Anda. Your girls have very beautiful names. It must be so hard for you at the moment but you'll all be together soon. Your babies will be being looked after so well. Lots of love to you all. xxx
