Birds first pg, generally around 20 weeks. Subsequently often at around 15/16 weeks. Although every one is different.

I'm sure I've felt some tiny little bubble like sensations already which is how I first felt DS (but it's probably wind isn't it?)

GardenWorm · 28/08/2013 15:50

Great news Birds and Total, hang on in there Swan...

Pentagon my day was boooooring! I have decided I don't like work which will please DH as he's trying to convince me we can afford for me to stay at home (he's not good with money though so our opinions differ on this!). Can't remember who asked but I get up that early to start at 7 and have to commute from Kent into London. I'm going to invent a maternity leave advent calendar to reward myself with chocolate for every boring day I spend at work before the end of October - any buyers?!

shellsocks · 28/08/2013 15:51

birds I'm an oddity (or my children are Grin) as I felt DS at 15+6 but didn't feel this one till 17+5 and I didn't panic about that at all, no so you might be lucky and be early like I was with DS Smile

IBelieveInPink · 28/08/2013 16:04

Birds - I wrote this all down for when someone asked!!
Is my first dc;
First movements (wriggles not kicks) 15 weeks-ish
Definite distinguishable kicks; 18 weeks
DH felt kicks at 18+3 - but not regularly until 20+1

Hope that helps!!

Diet - I keep thinking about you, and the fact that you get to meet your babies in less than 24 hours. Will be wishing you all the best for tomorrow, and excitedly waiting (until you are ready) for a lovely update :) good luck lovely. X

ChristineDaae · 28/08/2013 16:15

Total and birds - great news!
Hoping for some good news coming in from Swan.
Kjh - I never had any symptoms when having my daughter, not till about 16 weeks in when I couldn't face greasy foods! No sickness, no sore boobs, nothing. Wasn't really convinced I was preg until the scan.
To all those talking about movements, I have been feeling flips for about 2 weeks now, and today is the first day iv felt definite little bumps Grin 18+4 today and ignoring the fact that scan is coming up

Bodicea · 28/08/2013 17:50

Congrats on the fab scans total and birds.

Garden 4:55 start!! that sucks. what time do you finish? Hope you at least get home relatively early. I don't envy london commuters. Must be getting tough hauling yourself out of bed every morning. At how many weeks are you going on mat leave? Don't leave it too late to go on mat leave. you need to rest up.
So many people push themselves to work as long as poss up to their due date these days. Why do we do it to ourselves? To think our parents generation all used to go off at 28 weeks!

I had my whooping cough jab today. Didn't realise it it also tetanus, polio and diptheria so at least now I am up to date on everything. Also have a bit of a dead arm.

GardenWorm · 28/08/2013 18:53

Finish at 3 Bod so home for 4:30 to pick up DD (not all bad). I'll be starting my maternity at the end of October but have quite a few random days off in Sept and Oct due to the childminder packing it in. Not sure looking after DD will be restful but I won't miss my alarm clock!
Need to book my whooping cough and flu jab too, well reminded Smile

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 28/08/2013 19:27

GardenWorm · 28/08/2013 21:43

Excellent scan news birds, swan and total Grin

I'd like a maternity leave advent calendar please garden and as I have 24 days left its quite fitting! Will there be nipple cream and ear plugs in it?
Good god your commute! I'm tired thinking about it, I would definitely be snoring on the train if I was you!

And the good news is my dead arm is back to normal - until I have it jabbed on Friday :)

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 28/08/2013 22:26

Excellent news about yhe scan, swan! Grin

Friend of mine used an advent calendar to count down to her mat leave- an actual one (obv) as she was due late nov/dec I think! I winder when they come out in the shops?! Although I do have a lovely felt one with pockets that I bought for my classroom (and is now going to belong to my own kids!!) in which I could put things like sweets and maternity knickers, hahaha! Grin

andadietcoke · 28/08/2013 23:40

Saggy you just made me cry a little bit. You're all so lovely. Thank you for all your kind words and for all your good humour and unfailing support over the last few months, and before, those of you that were on the TTC thread with me.

I've had a slightly traumatic last day - went for the pre-op this morning and hadn't felt Ethel for a while which I mentioned. I then proceeded to keel over having bloods taken. The mw couldn't find a trace on the ctg so sent me down to u/s, where I nearly fainted again waiting. Around then the mw turned up in u/s to check that I'd had steroids because it wasn't in my notes. I explained that no, I hadn't - I'd asked the reg at 36w and he'd said he'd checked with 'the boss' and she didn't want to give me them. Mw asked me to confirm that he'd checked with a senior several times then disappeared, and then after the scan I was summoned back to the ADU and told I needed steroids and had to come back at 10pm for the second dose. Glad I've had them but cross it's literally been on the last minute and they could have had longer to work and benefit the babies.

Will try and update when I can tomorrow but realistically it's unlikely to be until early evening at the earliest. I so hope I have good news.

Congratulations on the successful scans today - hope we're on another posifrickintivity roll!

Love to you all, you're all brilliant, and best of all, today you're all pregnant xxx

Pentagon · 29/08/2013 00:12

yay, more good scans! Congratz total and swan!

garden I love the advent calendar idea! And respect for your commute!

janie I was an indie kid too! Wink aahhh, those were the days....

So good to hear from you gary - I love the "looks less than Dobby every day" comment! Grin

Thinking of you anda! I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight - all the best for tomorrow, my lovely! xxxx

jmf294 · 29/08/2013 05:50

Andadietcoke - will be thinking of you today my lovely and your special girls as they make their arrival. Sorry to hear you had a worrying day yesterday. Lots of calming happy thoughts, when i had my c-sec with my daughter visualising i was on a warm sunny beach in the indian ocean really helped keep me calm as they did the epidural etc. cant wait to hear your news!!

Congrats to swan, total and birds!!

GardenWorm · 29/08/2013 06:09

jmf I have just put my towel on the sun lounger, not for a cs but I've decided to stuff the big pants in the maternity advent calendar on your Indian ocean beach. Yum. Tis lovely here!

Oh Anda, no more sleeps. I really hope they don't keep you waiting all day. Little Ethel sounds like a tinker! Please have my biggest warmest hug to give you a little boost. I feel privileged to have been a part of your journey xxx

shellsocks · 29/08/2013 07:23

Sorry abt yesterday anda but none of that will matter soon when you have your babies Smile Will be thinking of you x

Rockchick1984 · 29/08/2013 07:51

Good luck for today Anda - not long now and you will be holding your babies!! I'm so excited for you!

Re feeling movement I felt DS at around 18 weeks, have already felt some flutters this time (now 13+5) for the last few days. Only if I lie very still though, sure it'll be ages until DH can feel them!

I've got just under 4 weeks until my next scan, can I have an advent calendar for that? Chocolate may distract me from my scan doom when that kicks in!!
