Best of luck rock chick! Fx for you this afternoon.

Need to ask you ladies about cramping. I woke up this morn doubled up in pain with cramps across my belly and lower back. Stayed in bed but still pretty much writhing in pain here. Will ring the hospital but doesn't look good does it? :( I'm 10 weeks

Rockchick1984 · 22/08/2013 10:55

Omri I had the same in previous pregnancy - hurt as much as labour pains and turned out to be trapped wind Blush so don't worry too much but definitely get checked out.

omri · 22/08/2013 11:11

Thanks rock. Just talking to lovely lady in the hospital and she said actually rather than just presenting at the main reception just go straight up to her and she'll sort me out :)

I'm in my parents house today so dp coming straight over and we'll leave ds here so at least don't have to worry about childcare. He loves his granny's house Smile

omri · 22/08/2013 11:49

God I hope so!! Keep up the positivity in the meantime. Thanks all Smile

kjh5 · 22/08/2013 12:07

Omri hope everything is ok - at least you are being seen straight away. Sending hugs xx

Good luck for later rock xx

pumpkinsweetie · 22/08/2013 12:14

Have my fingers crossed for you omri. Hope it turns out to be nothing xx

TeaAndANatter · 22/08/2013 12:22

Hello poppy and total

Yay sleep

Good luck omri

Things that I'm doing/not doing to be superstitious as I associate them with the MMC:

  • Not epilating my legs. Probably had nothing to do with it, but they are now 6 weeks hairy and look, well, words defy.
  • Not eating M&S beef jerky. Nothing to do with it, but I loved it when last PG, so I'm avoiding it now.
  • Not taking iron tablets (hanging head in shame and awaiting telling off), but I got so constipated, and I still don't know if the pre mc pain was mc or constipation pain, so I don't want to risk constipation, then get anxious.

Anyone managing a more bonkers superstition?

TotalShock · 22/08/2013 12:44

Good luck omri. I'm pleased your getting seen straight away x

Pixielady83 · 22/08/2013 13:37

Hope you're ok omri. Glad they are being lovely to you, makes all the difference when you're worried. Sure all will be fine xx

Pixielady83 · 22/08/2013 13:42

pumpkin hope you're ok tomorrow, that sucks having to go on your own. Sure everything will be fine but its nice to have a hand to hold. We are in at 11 tomorrow. Feel a bit weepy and scared today but trying not to panic like I did last time.

andadietcoke · 22/08/2013 14:33

Good luck omri - I'm sure I read that cramping should follow bleeding so fingers crossed everything is okay.

tea - I don't think you have any idea of the level of crazy you're dealing with on this thread Wink
Mine are:
Swimming. I went swimming in Tunisia the day before my mc started and haven't been since (October 2013)
Indian food. Had it last the night before I found out I was pregnant with the baby I mc'ed, haven't had it since

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/08/2013 14:47

Hope you're ok omri xxx

My main superstition is keeping hold of the three positive tests I did with this pregnancy- will only throw them after baby is born (safe and sound- check the positivity!)

andadietcoke · 22/08/2013 14:55

Oh god, I forgot all the used pregnancy tests in my bedside table Confused

I also forgot to mention the whole heap of crazy that I keep in my handbag...
We went to New Orleans for NY. I was pregnant, but didn't know it at the time, and there's a massive voodoo thing going on there so I bought a fertility thing. It's a little sack of rice in a blue sequinned piece of material. The idea is that you put a piece of your hair in the rice as well as other bits - I put in the pendant from my wedding necklace - and then tie it back up, and keep it on your person for nine days. Whenever you see it you're supposed to visualise whatever it is you want. So the next morning I did a test, and that was it - it's been in my handbag since. I had a bit of a breakdown when I found my friend's dog dragging it around after she'd been in my handbag, but so far so good. I'm too scared to take it out of my handbag. Utterly ridiculous.

Pentagon · 22/08/2013 15:52

anda, tea I think that's normal Grin (anda I love the fertility charm story, I would have done the same!) I'm not taking Pregnacare because the 2 times I took it during early pregnancy I had a missed miscarriage (I use a different brand). Also with my first miscarriage, I took a few baths in the early days - since then whenever pregnant I only take showers! And more crazy stuff I can't remember at the moment...

Yes, rock how did it go?

And omri are you ok?

dirtyface · 22/08/2013 19:20

hi all i have just found this thread! can i join you?

i had a MMC in april at 12 weeks. it was twins but i lost them at 6 weeks. now pg again about 5 + 3 i think. i am terrified. can't think of anything apart from what happened last time. i have my first scan 2 weeks on saturday, have had to pay for private one

have only managed to read last few posts (dcs need putting to bed!) but saw rockchick was going for a scan today, i hope it went well x

omri · 22/08/2013 19:30

Hi all. Thanks for all the messages. Strong heartbeat and progressing on target. Phew!!! They said probably bad stretching of the womb pains and to take it easy for next few days. They were so lovely in there. When I came in there was a note on my file to see the doctor immediately and I was bumped up to next in line and avoided a 3 hr queue Smile

Rock- how did u get on? Fx

pumpkinsweetie · 22/08/2013 19:36

Smile Omri brilliant news, so glad everything is well xx

PoppySeedBun · 22/08/2013 19:37

Hi dirty - welcome, and sorry about your MMC. Mine was at 9 weeks but also stopped at 6, and they suspend it was in the process of dividing into twins that it stopped.
I'm scared too - but finding this thread very helpful and calming. just trying to check off one day at a time at the moment, and waiting to get to a stage where I might be able to see a heartbeat. I'm 5+1.

omri so pleased for you - and glad they sorted you out quickly.

Love the stories about the crazy superstitions Smile tho I think mine is not telling anyone!

rock hope scan went well today

pumpkinsweetie · 22/08/2013 19:37

Welcome dirtyface & congrats on your pregnancy, wishing you an uneventful smooth pregnancy this time x

How did you get on rock ?

BirdsDoIt · 22/08/2013 19:56

omri really glad to hear you're ok and they were so nice!

I've been having an uncomfortable day today - nausea, crampy tummy and trapped wind (sorry tmi!) combined with what I think & hope are just stretching pains...feels a bt like period pains. No bleeding at all though. At a few points I wanted to lie down on the floor in the office and give up. I bloody hope there's a baby in there next week and that I'm going through this for a good reason.

Love everyone's crazy superstitions. I think mine is to carry on cycling and exercising and having sex because I didn't really do any of those during last pregnancy (too paranoid). Reverse psychology: if I behave this time as if I'm not pregnant maybe I will be... (Obv this doesn't extend to drinking alcohol!)

dirty welcome to the gang and congrats on your BFP. Join the rest of us very impatient ladies counting down the days until our scans...

Right. Weird question coming up. Anyone else getting a much yellower discharge than normal?? This started today and coupled with the period type pains got me a little freaked out but after a little googling I think (hope) it's nothing significant...(It's not thrush)

omri · 22/08/2013 20:07

Hi birds, yes have a thickish yellow (nearly slightly greenish) discharge recently... Eep tmi back at ya! Sorry!!
