Could I join too. Mmc in feb. now due march.

Struggling to be optimistic about scan next wed but I think I'm burying my head in the sand and don't want to think to far ahead as a self protection thing if you know what I mean

Other thread has a lot about names and scans and don't want to jinx myself but needed to go somewhere that gets it!!

It's so nice to read all your stories x

Chocolateteabag · 21/08/2013 21:14

Hi Poppyseed congratulations on your BP! And lovely to have you here.

Bump - how old is your DD? I've been finding DS (2.7) is starting to have "moments" with his best friend - who he spends a lot of nursery and preschool time with. Have been warned he may get worse when this one arrives (oh joy!)

Pixie - I have been to both scans this time expecting the worst (eyes clamped shut) to try to cushion the potential blow. It really sucks doesn't it!

PoppySeedBun · 21/08/2013 21:15

Hello total - I know what you mean. So nice to be among people who get it! Fingers very much crossed for your scan - how many weeks will you be?

TotalShock · 21/08/2013 21:24

poppy I should be 12 + 3. It seems a long time coming!! I know the weekend and bank hol will go slowly for a change!

kjh5 · 21/08/2013 21:29

Welcome Poppy and Total - have a great mantra here: Today you are pregnant. I find it helps sometimes to think about the now rather than worrying about the future we can't control!

Poppy I'm also 5+2 so know exactly where you are right now! And Tea is one day ahead of us. DH convinced me to book an early scan and strangely (today) I'm finding that a good point to focus on.

Fx for your scan next week Total xx

PoppySeedBun · 21/08/2013 22:04

Hello kjh5 - I figured we must be close from your previous posts! I like the mantra. 'One day at a time' is working for me (for now)

BumpKitty · 21/08/2013 22:08

thanks all - I was feeling less stressed after yoga but I think DH is trying to make me explode by telling me he needs to book his paternity leave now - erm right. I'm actually not that sure when the baby will arrive, surely people don't book paternity do they? he's saying - well if too many people are off already I'll not be allowed it - arrrggghhhhhhhhhh

choc snap - well nearly - she is 2.8! She does have her moments but today sounds way off the scale, I need to get tougher with her :( (she was very cute falling asleep in her beans though!).

Big wave and welcome to poppy and total
Hi gary - is DS1 liking the baby yet?

glad your DH has sorted you out janie! step away from the emotional baby programmes!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/08/2013 22:13

Welcome Poppy and Total.
Total do you mean the March antenatal thread? They were very nice but I was just too cynical to stick around there. Far to naive and innocent about pg! and long may it last for them!

sleep wonderful news!! It sounds like you had a lovely sonographer too Smile Enjoy your holiday!

welcome poppy & total and congratulations! Scans are terrifying after a MMC, aren't they? (I've had two MMCs) All the best!

gary so good to hear from you! How's life with two? Has your older DS warmed up to the baby?

bump sorry you had such a stressful day, glad the yoga helped. What's got into your DH? How are you supposed to know? And November isn't exactly high holiday season! (unless it is where he works!)

rock I thought your scan was today but obviously got it wrong...good luck tomorrow!

DIYandEatCake · 21/08/2013 22:33

Welcome poppy and total. There are so many of us here now, here's hoping for lots of happy endings. janie glad you're feeling better and your other half is being supportive, bump that sounds like a rubbish day.
Still living up to my name (finally!), finished decorating dd's new room and have now started on the dining room. Feels good to be doing something productive.

Rockchick1984 · 21/08/2013 23:32

Welcome Poppy and Total

Total I'm also due in March, am 12+1 today, scan tomorrow. I like the March thread as I can try to absorb some of the innocence and optimism on there - also need this thread for my darker depressed times when you need people who understand what you're going through.

Janie shopping always cheers me up - generally for shoes though, not washing machines Grin

Scan is 4pm tomorrow, however I was playing with my Doppler from when I had DS and I think I heard a fluttery heartbeat!! Not certain, but tried it before my 12 week scan when I had the miscarriage and couldn't hear anything, this was a definite something (although could just have been blood flow or something) so feeling a teeny tiny bit better than I did earlier... Still trying not to cry each time I think about scan tomorrow though.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 22/08/2013 08:00

Good luck today rockchick x x

BirdsDoIt · 22/08/2013 08:16

Welcome to poppy and total and congratulations on your BFPs!

rock tons of luck for today. Will be thinking of you at 4pm x

TotalShock · 22/08/2013 08:23

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Saggy and rock I read the march thread and everyone seems lovely, I just couldn't find something really jolly to post or bring myself to look to far ahead so one day at a time seems good to me!

It's nice to have somewhere as we haven't told anyone incase so I feel a little like I'm living inside my head a bit!

rock good luck today xxx

IBelieveInPink · 22/08/2013 08:47

Kat I originally said I wouldn't tell anyone this time around, but have needed other people's support not just DH's (he took the MC very badly last time) so have told close friends and family.

Thanks everyone, will update as soon as possible after the scan.

Welcome total and poppy and congrats on your BFP's.

Sat chilling on my glucose tolerance test. Hoping it will be ok as we have a bake sale at work and dying to dig in! Came out of uniform as snotty collegue said she could find me some work to do in between the tests but midwives told me I need to rest in between tests. So reading through a bit of work stuff in canteen in case anyone says anything. Gets me so cross. Anyone else in the world would just take the morning off and be done with it. Sometimes it sucks working in antenatal dep! Have hardly taken any time of for this pregnancy. Just snatched the odd half hour for my appointments, a lot of the time not cancelling any slots and iust fittingthe same no of pts in in less time! Anyway so taking a stand today! Knackered at the mo. can't wait for mat leave!

Good luck with your scan today rock x thinking of you xxx

andadietcoke · 22/08/2013 10:12

Rockchick and the others debating telling people - in the very first part when we started the graduates thread someone posted something they'd read on another board - the lady had had 6 miscarriages and each time she had shared the news of her pregnancy at a very early stage because no matter how long she carried her babies for, she wanted them to know that they were loved, and wanted, and that people were excited to meet them. That really resonated with me, and helped me when I finally told my mum and sister at about 9 weeks.

Bodicea · 22/08/2013 10:23

Diet totally like those sentiments. I told a lot of people early on as they new we were trying, what we had been through and I new I would need there support if it went wrong again anyway so seemed daft to hide it from them x

Bodicea · 22/08/2013 10:31

Knew not new. Gosh where is my brain?

pumpkinsweetie · 22/08/2013 10:32

Hello total & poppy wavesSmile, congrats to the both of youThanks

Goodluck for you today rock xx

I agree re telling people early on, although i didn't i could have really done with the support and it's nice when someone aknowledges your pregnancy too.

Nervous about my anomaly scan tomorrow, especially as i will be going on my own. Dh is looking after the dc, who are not permitted to be in the room.
