Hi everyone,

This thread is for all you incessant worriers out there, not necessarily limited to IVF-ers, although I get the feeling the people who have had trouble TTC are more prone to worrying than others!

OP posts:

keep congratulations on completing on your new house and yaay to getting your bed back. I am in awe that you have toughed it out with an airbed and grumpy cat (not sure which is worse) for so long.

fairy I hope all goes to plan and minipangolin arrives quickly and easily.

noks I hope you've got your first class upgrade pass sorted out for your normal commute though it doesn't help with other journeys. There are some graceless individuals about. A month or so ago I saw a woman having to ask, twice, for someone to give up their seat for her 90 year old mother, who was using two sticks and clearly in no case to stand for the 55 mins to the first stop. (I was already sitting on the floor, as no seats, but not massively showing at that point so wouldn't have expected anyone to notice.) Eventually someone sitting in one of the "please give up this seat for..." seats grudgingly and with much fuss picked up his beer and ipad and shifted his lazy backside. So if that's a measure of fellow rail travellers generosity of spirit and thought for others, the pregnant but otherwise healthy-looking don't stand much chance!

crisps glad you are feeling a bit better, retching aside and comparatively speaking. buzzy are things any better with you?

And with your DD1, *onion", who was also on the sick list?

Painting is making progress and my DH is home this pm, but not showing much sign yet of delivering on promises to climb ladders to do the hard to reach parts. Hmmm. My cat has been very interested, though, so probably only a matter of time before he gets creative and we have little painty paw prints everywhere!

fairypangolin · 18/10/2013 15:13

Hello everyone- v pleased to say mini pang born at 9:43 am and perfect in every way. 3cm dilated at 7:30, in the pool, out of the pool at 9:30, 3 more pushes and voila! So so so much easier than first. Home birth highly recommended. Hurt like the bejesus though, can't pretend otherwise. More later! X to you all.

keepitgoing · 18/10/2013 15:16

Yay! Congratulations!!! Grin can you share a name? X

MotorcycleMama · 18/10/2013 15:17

Oh congratulations fairy - that is wonderful news!! So , so pleased it was easier and so much shorter this time. Love and hugs to all!! X

keepitgoing · 18/10/2013 15:20

Am a bit teary xxx

SweetieTime · 18/10/2013 15:20

congratulations fairy sounds like an amazing delivery

Nokkie73 · 18/10/2013 15:51

fairy oh I'm now doing a keep and am a bit teary. I am going to make a cuppa and shove a biscuit in my pie hole. I can't cry. I'm from South London.

Huge congratulations. Give her a kiss from her cyber aunties. Xx

Ginestas · 18/10/2013 18:45

Hurrah fairy! I'm so so bloody pleased for you. Hope you are both doing well and mini pang enjoys her first evening in the world :) :)

OnionRing · 18/10/2013 19:14

Fairy ANY NEWS?!!! Hurrah! I've only just had chance to check. Congratulations! Millions of them! And that's so quick and I'm delighted it went as planned. I just missed you posting as you were contracting at 4am but I was having a better night. Anyway, I'm sure she's an absolute doll but we need a picture just to be sure and you have to tell (at least me) the name you went with!

(Actually as I'm not on Facebook could someone PM me and tell me what expat called her baby too?)

Hello to everyone else. noks glad you popped in. ceara happy decorating. Why do we do that? Having moved house at 22 weeks gone we still have only painted two rooms, you just don't notice really after a while.

shazza happy last day at work. You are so next lady!

Shazzamattazzerly · 18/10/2013 19:57

Oh My goodness many many Congratulations Fairy. Well done you and it sounds like the perfect experience. Hurrah for a happy homebirth! I hope that you all settle in together and have a good night. How is DS? Is he enamoured by his beautiful sister? So would you recommend a sweep? do you think that it what brought it on? Did the water help? Did you go with the gas and air? so many questions. I've realised that this means that I'm next up and quite frankly I'm shitting it!

Sorry to have been offline for a bit. I've been so tired this week that i've been dozing on the bus and so missed my posting time. The good news is that I'm now on Maternity Leave! Woohoo!!

So I'll try to catch up.

Sweetie, I hope that you sorted out your parking ticket. It is such a bummer to get one. Well done on upping the iron levels. Did you do anything in particular or just take the supplements?

Motor any news about the CMV? I hope you enjoyed the rest of your hols.

Buzzy I hope that you have recovered from your trip to A&E. You have had such a rough ride. I really hope that you get a break soon. Are you signed off?

Onion I've also got freezer envy. I hoard food too. I can't help buying food. Especially now when I'm expecting never to leave the house once Shazlett has arrived. Is DD better? Poor little thing. It is miserable to have a persistant cough. Is Ringlet still sleeping better? How are you coping with not responding so much? I'll PM you the name of Expat's DD.

Crisps good news that both babies are head down. Hopefully now you will feel abit better. Hurrah for the genius physio. At first I wondered if your consultant was abit sweaty but then realised that you meant that he was fit! A nice distraction.

Gin We also thought that the BFing class was good. She was such a good teacher. I can't believe that tomorrow is the last NCT class. Looking forward to lunch afterwards Smile. Hope you are feeling ok.

Dildals Good news that Bella is a good weight. She is such a strong fighter. Her monkey suit sounds unbelievable cute. Do you think that the cranial osteopath helped?

Foody are you feeling better? Its good that you got signed off. I had booked 2 weeks off in the early days and it was lovely. I was very tired so got to rest and get my head around the whole being preggers thing. I know it is hard by try not to concentrate on what can go wrong. It is so much more likely to go right. I hope that pottering around the house and resting will help. You could always get addicted to Geordie Shore. That is Crisps chosen distraction Wink.

Ceara how is the decorating? I've got my mum coming back tomorrow to do the kitchen! I really am very lucky. Then we are going to get the whole flat sorted out this week. My goal is to get everything done by next weekend. Sorry about your little emby but love your positive thought that we should take it day by day.

MrsH how was your BFing class? I was so jealous about your NCT teacher. How did you pool testing go on Sunday night?

Keep Congratulations on your house. How exciting. You will be in and able to nest before Kip comes along. Good that your MW appt went well and I hope that the physio helps your back. Thinking about it, my MW said that my John Lewis incident could have been the baby getting head down and trying to engage. 2 weeks to go til mat leave and counting!

Noks Lovely to hear from you. I've started asking for seats now. I'm so sick of stupid people not getting up. That said a blind man got on a very packed bus the other day and no one got up. So I did, he sat down and even after seeing me give up my seat, STILL no one got up. Unbelievable! I hope that DP helps with the decorating and you feel less frustrated.

Hello to anyone lurking.

phew I think that is me caught up. Now that I'm on mat leave, I've got plenty of time to keep up. no more commuting on packed buses for me. I'm soooo happy about that.

I'm going to make my dinner now. Have a good evening everyone.

xx

putthecrispsDOWN · 18/10/2013 20:10

Hee, yes yummy hot not sweaty!

I don't mind the retching or sickness much any more...I really have got used to it actually after six months! Genuinely could carry on for a while as long as it was nice and early in the morning.

Hooray for the arrival of minipangolin. Congratulations fairy! How was the hot tub? That was quite a quick labour! Would also love to secretly know her name... Much live to you and the family, enjoy the bubble x

ceara · 18/10/2013 20:21

Many congratulations, fairy, and I'm so so pleased mini-p arrived so quickly and to plan, after all the anxious waiting. Looking forward to seeing a picture when you're ready to show her off.

Buzzybee123 · 18/10/2013 20:42

fairy yay to a quick and safe birth, prays to birthing gods a photo and name would be lovely

keep yay to getting your bed back and closing on your house

ceara to be honest I feel worse and sleep about 16 hours a day Hmm

shazza yay to mat leave, I have been on sick leave for the last 2 weeks, as I sleep so much I am unable to do anything, my to do list gets longer Hmm if I was able to do stuff while off I wouldn't mind but nothing is getting done,

crisps sorry you are still chundery, I am unable concentrate on the TV, I just fall asleep Hmm

dildals looking forward to seeing Bella in her Halloween outfit

noks the butcher has had another go at my yoni, I can no longer see what is going on down there without a mirror, I plan to book in for a professional trim in the New Year :)

well Barry is making dinner and he made banana loaf too so best try and do something

waves to everyone else

Buzzybee123 · 18/10/2013 21:57

dildals quick question, which nipple shields do you have ??

OP posts:
Dildals · 18/10/2013 23:48

Bloody hell fairy nothing like the New Statesman to help dilation! Personally I prefer the Financial Times or the Economist though to entertain me through labour, who needs hypnobirthing.

CONGRATULATIONS! It probably hurt so much because it was such a fast labour? But you basically sneezed it out, didn't you? ;-)

Post a picture (and name) up soon!

buzzy I bought the NUK ones, but that's just because those were the only ones on sale. As long as they're thin silicone they're OK. Are you already stocking up? You shouldn't need them, technically, if baby's latch is good and not premature. (Then again, who would want their nipples mauled ...)
Barry made banana loaf? Good man!

I went for dinner with a friend today. Bella normally likes to get a few good feeding sessions in in the evening though, so that was interesting ... I fed in the restaurant, the train home and as soon as I hit the doorstep ... The wine, food and dessert were lovely though ...

I can't believe all your bad seat experiences. I almost without fail had people offering me their seats on the trains! You guys must be so super unlucky!

shazz I don't notice any change in Bels yet, but she's only had one treatment. It can't hurt.

OnionRing · 19/10/2013 10:24

I must admit that I would prefer almost anything than to have to read New Statesman. I think we should find the best high brow magazine to read in labour though. I think the London Review of Books would act like pethidine, especially if there was a five page review of a book about international financial instability.

buzzy you must treasure your baking man.

dildals how absolutely lovely to go out! I didn't go out but have a hangover after drinking most of a bottle of wine. (sorry for the pissed up pm shazz, I vaguely recall answering you but would rather not look!) Was lovely though and in my drunken state I did not respond to Ringlets demands which, interestingly, meant she went from 9pm until 3am without a feed so she can do it. I can't get pissed every night though...

No have to find a rainy day activity for DD1 who is much recovered but full of malice.

Hope everyone has a good day (especially fairy though!)

Buzzybee123 · 19/10/2013 12:33

I have decided that Barrys man cave is now the kitchen and there is no need for me to enter Grin

dildals I like to be prepared for everything, if I don't use them then I shall flog them on Ebay.

I have a bit more energy today wahoo hope it lasts, I've also had a shower for the first time in 3 days Hmm
I have also been busy on Ebay, have a nice Red Herring winter coat and just got a sterliser for .99p :)

OP posts:
Buzzybee123 · 19/10/2013 13:43

ladies another quick question, I know you have discussed this in the past, prams and slings, any recommendations ???

OP posts:
OnionRing · 19/10/2013 16:44

I heartily recommend the Mamas and Papas Sola travel system and I also recommend the Maclaren Quest lightweight buggy. I have both and am very happy with them.

I had a mei tie (sp?) sling until Ringlet was about three months. It was comfy when on and she slept happily in it but it was a faff to get in and out of. I hired it though so no great cost.

MotorcycleMama · 19/10/2013 17:01

Mmm. I feel like a right idiot. Having returned from Cornwall, fretting and wasting valuable holiday time sitting in strange GP surgeries, I have checked my CMV blood results taken in April before IVF. They show that I tested positive for the antibody, not negative, so there really is no reason for concern at all. Sorry for taking valuable support from you all for no valid reason! I am very relieved!

Glad you have got some energy buzz - it shows how we normally take it for granted.

Good for you for downing a bottle of wine (nearly) onion - I am jealous! It will have done you the power of good.

Buzzybee123 · 19/10/2013 18:33

onion thanks, its a bit of my mine field out there, these are my two big purchases MIL is buying pram so don't want get them spectacularly wrong, we need to go and have a play with them both, I forget that you can hire some things

motor its hard not to worry about about things, slap on the wrist for thinking you have wasted valuable support Wink

I have had a bloody amazing 24 hours, no need for a nap or a cry, did well with most of my purchases on Ebay, next Ikea trip planned. I finally feel in control of my life, prays even harder to the preggo gods to let this feeling last

Thanks for listening to me moan :)

OP posts:
Dildals · 19/10/2013 19:35

buzzy LOL at flogging nipple shields on ebay .. you better keep them in their packaging. They're only £3.85 new!
I forget where you're based but there are sling libraries where you can hire one for about £3 for 2 weeks. Try before you buy. I have a Hana wrap which I am happy with it, but some people struggle with the origami skills required to get it on.

Re prams it really depends on what you are looking for. For me it was between the Uppababy Cruz and the ABC design Cobra, but I wanted a parent-facing seat, a separate carry cot (because she's so small), a three wheeler (because I jog) and not too heavy. So that's quite specific requirements. DH vetoed the Uppababy because of the 'garish colours' ... read: red. So I got the ABC Design in manly dark colours... :-)

Hopefully the non-teary not-tired not-sleepy phase persist!!!

Buzzybee123 · 19/10/2013 20:13

dildals I'll flog anything on Ebay Wink I am not the most coordinated person which is why I am unsure about some of these slings, Barry Jogs so maybe a 3 wheeler is worth considering, thanks I shall have a look :)

slightly disturbed as I have just witnessed walruses mating Shock

OP posts:
Nokkie73 · 19/10/2013 21:16

Fecking hell buzz are you going through one of your 'phases' again ? Step away from the internet animal pornos and look at travel systems instead. Grin. Good to hear that you are feeling much better. It must be Barry's banana cake.

It's the Uppababy Vista all the way for me. I tried it in Kiddicare in Croydonia and it rocks. dildals my other half pulled a face when he saw it on the interweb in red too. He wants it in black. It must be an alpha male thing.

motor glad all is well with you. At least there is nothing to worry about and not the other way round. X

onion I am well jel that you got shitfaced. What was the occasion ? You absolutely must tell us what maize based snackages you had with your wine, dahling.

Hello to everyone else. I am in bed. What a loser. I have to be up at the crack of sparrowfart for the christening tomorrow. I am also a bit miffed that the job I entrusted to 'im indoors (to clear under the bed in the spare bedroom and sell the guest bed so that we can get the nursery sorted) has still fucking well not been done. I think I want to smear his face with a big custard pie and knee him in the nuts.

Buzzybee123 · 19/10/2013 21:33

niknoks Barry has just come into the room asking me what I am laughing at Grin don't waste the custard pie but knee him in the nuts for not doing his bit

I have been watching kitty porn, Barry hates it when I make him watch it too, the walruses have scarred me for life, did you know they have 2 uterus horns Hmm

what time does this christening start
