How is everyone else getting on? Sorry to be grim after some good news but has anyone else felt really down? I'm only 40+2 but feeling really low - sleeping all the time and unenthusiastic about everything. Crying sometimed. i have had depression before and MW awareof it, though this feels situation specific. I'm in a new area, don't know anyone, worried about the baby and induction. Also my digestive system is wreaking havoc - I'm ravenous / nauseous / heart burning or dashing to the loo all the time. Like a nervous stomach - sorry if TMI! I wonder if could be the raspberry leaf tea because only been having it (1 or 2 cups a day) for last week.

Urgh just annoyed with myself for being such a worrier and not able to finish the last few baby bits. As much as I want the baby to come I am scared all over again like I was at the start. Is unplanned pregnancy and I feel guilty. I thought I'd made peace with and ages ago / had felt so excited.

Sorry for ramble had to get off chest.

Hopeful2013 · 08/09/2013 17:37

Hey can I join in? I'm 40+5 (Ivf date) or 40+2 (scan date) and soooo bored of waiting!!

Rollermum: I think it's really natural to feel down especially towards the end, is this your first baby?

I've got puppp which is a hive like rash all over my bump and just wondered if there are any fellow sufferers?

Spent three hours walking around car boot this morning, eaten pineapple, drunk raspberry leaf tea so just replicating this every day in the hope something will work!

No BH, no show, no signs of any kind so think baby is far too comfy!! :-)

Congratulations to all those ladies at the finish line with lovely new babies I bet all this waiting is totally forgotten as soon as you get your bundle of joy!!

Rollermum · 08/09/2013 18:13

Hey Hopeful welcome :-) That's exactly what it feels like - baby is too comfortable!

Yes, is my first baby. I feel a bit better having gone for a long walk. Hopefully it's just hormones.

Pupp sounds terrible! Hope you can treat it somehow.

Hi guys
I had a little girl (finally!) on Fri night at 7:30pm :) I had to have a pessary, which was pretty traumatic as I find interval exams awful, but it did the job as pre labour started about 8hrs later. I ended up having an epidural, the drip for just 20mins and then the 3rd stage only took 15mins so I was v lucky to only have a few stitches. It wasn't the water birth I'd hoped for but being very honest, after being induced and a long labour, I just wanted my little one out :)
I wanted to say thank you to all on here for your fantastic support. Congrats to those who had their little ones, and lots of luck and bear wishes to those in the run up to their due date (or beyond). It was def worth the wait, but at the end I was thoroughly fed up and uncomfortable so I can relate to all the posts!
xx

Rollermum · 08/09/2013 19:14

Yay! Congratulations Queazy! Sounds like a difficult time, so hope you can enjoy cuddling your new daughter! Thanks

Hopeful2013 · 08/09/2013 21:45

Congratulations Queasy! Shame it wasn't the birth you had planned but at least you are both safe and well now :-)

I've found ranting and moaning to people also helps make you feel better! Yesterday I moaned at my MIL, mum, sister, uncle and nan. Feel much better today and all the annoying texts have stopped (well limited to one rather than multiples)!

If you're feeling a bit down its always good to get out somewhere as then you will meet new people in your area too. My bumps so big with so many strangers stopping to comment it takes 25mins to get a pint of milk now!!

FastWindow · 08/09/2013 22:28

Congratulations queazy!

Gingerandlemon · 09/09/2013 06:21

Congrats Queazy!! Glad it turned out ok in the end and you can finally get on with being a mummy :)

Gerty1002 · 09/09/2013 07:38

Congratulations Queazy!

Rollermum I have been ip and down a lot these past few weeks, I'd guess it's very normal. However make sure you keep your midwife in the loop anout how you're feeling, she may be able to put your mind at rest about some of the things you're worrying about.

40+10 today, never ever thought I'd get here. Sweep this afternoon and lots of crampy pains this morning so hoping to get somewhere before looming induction on Friday. So uncomfortable now, can't even get comfortable in the bath!

Pleased the weather has cooled a bit so I can cuddle up to my hot water bottle like the good old days of simple period cramps :).

Good luck to everyone still hanging in there.

BelleEtLaBaby · 09/09/2013 08:35

Congratulations Tiredemma and Queasy!

40+3 today and totally fed up. Come ON!

Kilkers · 09/09/2013 10:20

Hi all, feeling ready to join the thread after lurking for a while, I'm 39 weeks today. Huge congrats to all the ladies who've recently had their babies and Thanks to all those overdue and going stir crazy.

I'm sitting here bouncing on my ball and watching a ridiculous episode of Jeremy Kyle before going off to do some cleaning/nesting! Have had a few BH, lower backache and the usual stabby pains down below, nothing much otherwise.

Hopeful2013 · 09/09/2013 13:56

Got my fingers crossed for you Gerty!!

So ended up having bloods done yesterday to check my rash isn't anything nasty which put my mind at rest and managed to get a full nights sleep last night for the first night in nearly two weeks!! Then called midwife this morning and asked if she could try another sweep, which again she couldn't do :-( definitely can imagine this all carrying on till next week now. Been ball bouncing and eating pineapple and will go for a long walk later, here's hoping!!

Kilkers I dream of having BH or any kind of pain or sign to show something might be happening so I hope it means good news for you!!

Rollermum how you doing today?? Hope you're feeling better. :-)

Good luck to any ladies in labour!!

Rollermum · 09/09/2013 14:17

Good luck with the extra sweep Gerty.

Belle me too - 40 + 3 today!

Welcome Kilkers sounds v familiar!

Hopeful hope you start to feel something soon. How much pineapple are you eating? I've had 1 whole one spread over five days which probably isn't enough but is such a faff! And the first day I ate half and burnt my mouth.

Thanks for kind words everyone. I'm still quite 'meh' but having read around a bit more online feeling down / weeping and tired all seem normal. I'm setting some small achievable goals so I don't just wear the groove in my sofa deeper - clean bathroom, clean kitchen, laundry and go for a walk. Also have a baby sewing project.

Good luck everyone - hopefully we'll have done new babies to report soon :-)

Gerty1002 · 09/09/2013 15:18

Well ladies I'm finally on my way! Been having contractions since early this morning which increased in strength throughout the day. Midwife came half an hour ago and said I'm doing very well, cervix is paper thin and dilated 4cm.

She did a sweep anyway for good measure and said to make my way down to hospital in next couple of hours (coping ok with pain at home at moment) unless waters go. So we didn't bother booking my induction and she has booked the birthing pool for me instead :).

Wish me luck!

Gingerandlemon · 09/09/2013 15:31

Good luck Gerty! Sounds like it's going great so far so hopefully all will continue this smoothly. Looking forward to hearing about your little one.

Rollermum · 09/09/2013 15:32

Oh lovely news Gerty! Good luck and I look forward to hearing about your baby!

Kilkers · 09/09/2013 17:05

Best of British to you Gerty, I've read about your various ups and downs and so pleased this sounds like it's really it for you, yey! Grin

Gerty1002 · 09/09/2013 18:35

They've sent me home! Midwives disagreed as to how dilated I am, the one in delivery suite said I wasn't quite 4cm so I could either go up to ward or go home... home seemed like a better option.

I knew in my heart it was too soon for hospital but was following my community midwife's advice... so frustrated. Induction now booked for Friday, hopefully won't get that far.

Off to have a good cry, hopefully some sleep and pray something happens overnight!

Rollermum · 09/09/2013 19:05

Oh no Gerty! Sorry to hear that. Hope you can get some rest and get things moving tomorrow.

FastWindow · 09/09/2013 19:11

Ah gerty let's hope tonight's the night!! It can't be long now.

Hi kilkers I'm a day behind you at 38+6...

Kilkers · 09/09/2013 21:38

Sorry Gerty, looks like I spoke a bit too soon, blowing lots of lucky labour dust your way!

Hi Fast Window, have you had any twinges or anything exciting yet?!

Gerty1002 · 09/09/2013 21:58

Thanks everyone, contractions have stopped for the moment, thinking it might be the stress and frustration of being sent home again. Trying to rest and relax and hoping they might start up again through the night.

FastWindow · 09/09/2013 21:59

Kilkers I'm not sure! I have a bit of spd, so getting the stabby pains quite a bit now. With ds my waters went at 36+3 but ended up having to be induced two days later when labour didn't follow. So I really have no idea what to feel for iykwim!! I've got a bit of a dead leg... :-)
How about you, is this your pfb or...?

Rollermum · 10/09/2013 10:05

Hello how is everyone today? Any news Gerty?

I'm slightly freaking out - I was itchy much of yesterday (though mildly, was persistent) so couldn't sleep properly. I wanted to just sleep but about 3am googled it and could possibly be OC. I have a couple of other symptoms too. So I called MW and am going into day assessment unit at midday.

Am impressed so far with response to panics / concerns. Hopefully will be nothing and will back home waiting soon! Though as I'm 40+4 they might induce anyway if is an issue I guess.

About obstetric cholestasis (I don't know much about it): www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/itching-obstetric-cholestasis-pregnant.aspx

Makes it sound not too scary bit mumsnet and othe threads suggest risk to baby - hence getting checked out.
