Pregnancy

I'd forgotten what early pregnancy is like ...

God it's tiresome! Am only five or six weeks, but exhausted, no energy, constantly wanting to eat, brain feels utterly fuzzy and am finding it impossible to concentrate at work ... just want to go to sleep! I can't remember it being like this before - is this what it's like?? This is my third pregnancy but it's been a while - my littlest is 5.5 - so perhaps I am just getting old Smile Remind me this is normal (especially the constant eating to stave off the nausea)

Thanks AlmondFrangipani! It's good to be reminded that it does pass ... as it's hard to remember. Though as Saggy said earlier, all the nausea etc is also an oddly comforting thing - in that things must be ticking along OK. It's such a disconcerting time, these first few weeks of pregnancy, when as you say you have to keep it all secret - there are no outward signs, you have no idea what's going on in there really, and you just feel so rotten!

Urgh me toooooo. I'm feeling so pathetic. I was just as bad first time but now am (badly) entertaining 2yo DD and longing for my bed. I've been feeling ill for ages now - since before i knew for sure that i was pregnant. I remember last time it all settled at 13 weeks. Fingers firmly crossed but still another 6 weeks of this fills me with dread.
Hope everyone's sickness fades soon!

I agree! So tired. This is my second so learning that it's a lot harder to deal with the tiredness when you've got a toddler to entertain all day who woke up at 5.20am today

I do remember the tiredness passing but right now it's that 'in your bones' tiredness where you ache with it and could sleep all day.

I've been standing in full sun working all weekend. I'm off today. I have spent the last 2.5 hours curled up on the bed in my east facing, delightfully cool bedroom, with the windows open, sparko! fighting the nausea and the urge to pee! This my friends is what early pregnancy is all about! Grin napping whenever you want!

hi can i join please.
not sure on dates. i was ttc 18months and was disappointed again when af came but it was bright red and just when i wiped and kept stopping and starting. i did 3 tests over 6 days all faint positives but getting a tiny bit more visible each time. i think i'm 5/6 weeks. i am now scared everytime i get a twinge, had period pain yesterday and still spotting on and off when i wipe so scared to go to the toilet but mainly pink and not blood anymore. called drs today and i am goin for a scan on wed at early pregnancy unit. i know i will hardly see anything but just to know there is something there and rule out ectopic will put my mind at rest. other symptoms are sore breasts, can't sleep past 5am but then want to sleep all day, silly things turn my stomach...even lookin at a quiche i'd made.
things us women do....i just want a healthy pregnancy and baby x congratulations on your pregnancies ladies x

7 weeks here too and also feeling like death. Saw midwife earlier who seemed to be suggesting that me feeling like death was an excellent thing Wink

Thrilled to be pg but oh my gods the nausea! And I never realised how many micro climates of bad smells our flat had!!!

saggy I'm the same. 2 miscarriages in 6 months and now about 9 weeks. Feel totally rotten and this bloody heat is making me tired and headachy. Symptoms are sort of reassuring but every time there's a twinge or a new symptom I start to fret! DS is nearly 3 and luckily I think the heat has sapped some of his energy or else I'm no sure how I'd cope!

I had forgetten some bits. The tiredness is worse than the 'had no sleep for months' newborn days.

I haven't forgotten the sickness. I had hypermesis first time round and I'm waiting in terror for it to kick in again.

I thought I would worry less in this pregnancy, be less worried about mc etc, but I am completely paranoid. I've taken about 10 tests and have booked a scan for as soon as I hit 7 weeks.

Saggy, I remember reading about your mc. So pleased that you're pregnant again. Congratulations Thanks

I wonder if it was actually someone struggling to get pregnant and upset about this thread?

if you're reading this ovarian, I also used to struggle with pregnant women moaning but I'd also stay away from mothers sites for that reason. we have to complain to someone.

I found the forum www.fertilityfriends.com a great sense if comfort

Fair point. However, even when it took ages to get pregnant I was still thrilled for everyone else that was, even if it was painful.

Don't really see it as an excuse to hijack a lighthearted thread.

These threads keep me sane when I'm lying on the bathroom floor vomming up my dinner Grin

Am 6 weeks and like many of you fellow madladies am also pg for the 3rd time.

Have been experiencing hotness, dizziness, palpations, constant nausea, tiredness, wanting to wee all the time and the urge to eat constantly & wanting to throw up if smell anything that doesn't sit well with me, but despite all this am glad as all these means all is well and things are progressing.

Has my 1st encounter with a MW today as my GP insisted I had an early booking in session, due to having low blood pressure (dizziness & palpations being associated with this). She was not the most helpful of MW and didn't do any of the stuff that I thought she would be doing at this session, so not sure what the point of the appointment was really. However have got the Green Booklet - so makes it all seem more real. Smile Did get paranoid as didn't want anyone in RL to see me with it so wrapped it up in my coat and carried it around town before stuffing in my car boot so the kids wouldn't get to see it accidentally either! Grin

Am wondering how long it will take for others in RL to twig what is going on, particularly as not sure how long I can mask my symptoms.

With you all. The constant desire to gag is doing my head in! I'm 10 weeks and fed up with the unrelenting-ness of it (even at night!). Grrrrr. It wasn't this bad first 2 times.

bigred I hope all is ok. I had an ectopic last year - good luck for the scan.

I seem to have developed unpleasant cramps. Not down low or period like, but like I have been doing sit ups! Sad around and below my navel and round the sides! Confused Anyone else feeling these?
