haha, I never thought I'd say this but I want to see the plug! Grin

Eatchocolatedrinkgreentea · 18/07/2013 05:04

I'm loving the responses I should give. Thanks ladies. Here's hoping the sex I've just had works a treat. This heat is suffocating! Hope the waiting game ended for someone this evening. X

mamachelle · 18/07/2013 06:47

please can i come and play? dc4 is officially cooked today yet obviously far too snug to want to vacate Grin

ive got a midwife app at ten so will ask for a sweep

have a nice day all Smile

Eatchocolatedrinkgreentea · 18/07/2013 07:54

I'm off for another sweep today. Here's hoping this works. Baby is very low today, hope everyone has a cooler day. X

LittleMilla · 18/07/2013 08:24

Good luck for sweeps today ladies. Nothing happened for me last night although more plug this am.

Just called assessment unit as baby isn't moving as much this am and I'm worried. Couple of small/weak moves but that's it. Had breakfast, tea but not much else stirring.

They've said NICE guidelines are to lie on my side for two hours and drink two pints of water. Thing is, I've been up for 2 hours, drink loads (inc a sugary drink) and he's still not dancing Hmm.

He's moving, just not as much as normal.

MonstersDontCry · 18/07/2013 08:38

Hi can I join? I was due on the 10th and still no baby. Sad I'm having my second sweep tonight, I really hope it works! My DD was 12 days late, hoping this one isn't the same!

Isitme1 · 18/07/2013 08:51

Good luck to those having sweep. Hope it worjs for you.

Midwife just rang my mum for me and its not even 9!
Trying to get hold of her but the number is busy.

Will catch up soon x

Isitme1 · 18/07/2013 08:55

Phew.
Its just to change the time I was given for induction. So we are not waiting around.

Milla at this stage they cant really do much in there. This lo has been quite but still having his mad moments where you can see limbs poking out of my tummy. If your worried go up and ask to be put on monitor.

It could also be a sign of labour!

X

Isitme1 · 18/07/2013 08:57

Ooo monster!
I really hope it works for you

Miss smarty pants
The advice you are giving really helps all of us so don't worry about it and
thanks Flowers

Hows my long lost twin x

LittleMilla · 18/07/2013 09:06

Isitme - just had my second 'loose' loo trip in an hour and also lost more plug. I'm now wondering if he's chilling ahead of the main event.

No cramping as yet but feel a bit queasy? Thankfully DS1 is at nursery today so I can just chill the f*ck out all day!! Hooray!

When's induction booked for?

Isitme1 · 18/07/2013 09:27

Lol my ds is at nursery today too!! But I've got some cleaning to do lol.

Induction booked for Saturday at 1pm. Im going to ask for the drip as its more successful. Im not waiting around all day lol.

Isnt lightening supposed to make you feel comfier not heavier??
X

mrsspagbol · 18/07/2013 09:39

Am soooo jel of all of you losing plugs! I keep checking (!!!) but nothing!

Nothing but period pain crampy things and mega swollen feet - nothing!

Sad
RememberingMyPFEs · 18/07/2013 09:54

Morning all, can I join in please? I'm 38+2 but measuring 43 and struggling. I have major threat of induction at 40+0 due to being primip and 40 so VERY keen to get things going asap.

Getting some cramps (lower than BH) and lots of loo trips but no show or anything else yet. In this heat its just no fun anymore Sad

I'm bouncing on my ball, quaffing my raspberry leaf, doing the 'one in and one up' with EPO and went to an acupressure workshop last night that is supposed to help get things going. I just want to meet her now...

Fx for those of you further along and with more symptoms - hope we get some arrivals soon x

Waves at waves Thanks

MonstersDontCry · 18/07/2013 09:57

Thank you isitme1, me too!

Mrsspagbol, you might have already lost it without realising.

Is anyone else not going to be induced? I already feel under loads of pressure to be induced.

MonstersDontCry · 18/07/2013 10:11

Also, I was 2-3cm dilated when I had my first sweep on Saturday. Do you think it's likely that I'd have dilated even more since then?

LittleMilla · 18/07/2013 10:21

Monsters- that sounds very favourable! I was only 1cm on tues.

I won't be induced due to previous c section. Having another sweep next week and then seeing consultant a week today to have waters broken (if all looks ok). That's as far as they'll take me. Last resort will be a c section which I'm keen to try and avoid.

At least I'll have my boy by the end of next week. Hopefully sooner though, would love more than anything to do this all spontaneously!

Reebok · 18/07/2013 10:22

Welcome to all the newbies! Such exciting news about all those losing their plugs.

Twin, nothing to report here except I'm very grouchy again today. Slight period cramps, back ache as usual...no damn plug! This baby seriously doesn't want to come out. Think she knows there's a heat wave and is avoiding the awful weather!

Isitme1 · 18/07/2013 10:55

Remembering thats my gestation on Saturday 40weeks. Atm I want to be induced. I want the medical intervention so im being looked after and hopefully I will feel 'safer' with drs around.

im not too happy with them not actually making a plan for bloods though. They made a plan for c section if I ask for it but I think they should give me a blood transfusion as soon as they can after birth as levels are already low and will just drop more.

hi to all the newbies here

Twin in this heat what do you put on a newborn? ?
Just a vest and nappy or a romper no vest and nappy???
Ds1 has a short sleeved top plus shorts on n nappy but no vest.
X

Reebok · 18/07/2013 11:02

Honestly have no idea! First time mum here. From what I've read and asked other mothers, I think in this weather it would be a nappy and vest and even then the vest is a stretch. Have been advised to check baby's temp and if they feel hot, lose the vest.

ZuluWarrior · 18/07/2013 11:06

Morning everyone!

So many people with days of niggling contractions. After my DS I genuinely thought you just went into labour and had a baby. DD was much more drawn out and this one even worse! You all have my sympathies Flowers.

Meanwhile, chez Zulu, we have trickling waters and contractions! I am so hoping that this isn't another false alarm. Off to do the hoovering Grin.

Eatchocolatedrinkgreentea · 18/07/2013 11:10

Ok so been to see midwife for sweep no 2 and she couldn't do it as baby is no longer in my pelvis!! Gutted is an understatement!

Isitme1 · 18/07/2013 11:13

zulu thats brilliant! ! Fx something more happens soon!! Keep us posted!

[Hugs] chocolateandgreentea how far gone are you? Assuming your term or over would they not book you in for induction?

Twin thats what I was thinking. Will have to just wait and see lol
X

ZingWidge · 18/07/2013 11:23

in hot weather a nappy is enough and I used to use a muslin as blankie.

babies can't regulate their own body temperature efficiently, so err on the side of them being a bit cool in this weather.

if you think baby has a fever check skin on back of neck - better indicator then forehead skin - or bottom, ear or mouth ( not in that order! Grin choose one method)
a feverish baby's skin will feel dry, not clammy.

good luck with all the cramping, deplugging and sweeps!

any if any of you goes into labour please promise you'll drop a line!

just say "showtime" or something. ok?

Reebok · 18/07/2013 11:27

Thank you zing for all that great info! Very helpful. ;)

LittleMilla · 18/07/2013 11:29

Oh no chocolate - that's so annoying. What's the poa now?

Zulu - wow wee that all sounds exciting!

I'm lounging in bed like an overweight walrus. A sight to behold!

Planning a trip to sainsburys in a bit to stock up (again) and enjoy their air con. So sad that I'm planning excursions based on air con availability!
