plan's approved! Wink

think of it this way - last few days of freedom!Grin

HJBeans · 28/07/2013 00:28

Congrats, waves! Wonderful news. Enjoy your wee boy.

Reebok · 28/07/2013 01:10

Congrats waves! Great news...bit curious about all HG symptons have gone completely on delivery? Hope you're both doing well.

Having what feels like period pains in my lower back and below bump. I seriously keep thinking I'm going to start my period. Am not bothering to time it unless it gets really bad. Trying my best to ignore it and have sat up watching a movie as a distraction. DH is getting frustrated Everytime I have a contraction though and make a sort of 'ouch mother! sound...I can see him watching me as I try to pretend it doesn't hurt.

Will try to get some sleep...paracetomol hasn't touched the pain though. Happy thoughts right. Ignore the pain until its time!

mrsspagbol · 28/07/2013 04:30

Good luck to everyone in labour!!! Am very very jealous!

Nothing going on here worth typing about.

sending you all labour dust

Isitme1 · 28/07/2013 04:32

Congratulations waves
Yep that should work
Twin have they offered you induction?

Hi zing. How are you?

Everyone else? X

shineypeacock · 28/07/2013 07:53

Thanks for the advice, ive managed to sleep fairly well, think it was a mixture of emotion and exhaustion!

Woken to tightenings in bump, but pad as dry as a bone and no more show (grr) going to get up and get moving, and hopefully encourage baby to shift!

Feeling more positive today, as im not tired, will keep you all posted, sending labour vibes to all!

Also congrats to waves, so pleased your wee boy has arrived x

TomDaleysTrunks · 28/07/2013 09:15

Am in the same boat spag. Glad you got some sleep peacock. reebok hope you managed to distract yourself.

No news really. 40+1. Sweep tomorrow. Pretty pissed off that a friend keeps texting me that her various friends have had their babies now and I'm the only one left waiting. Angry

Reebok · 28/07/2013 10:13

Positive thoughts Tom. It will happen when it's meant to.

Had another rough night but hey this is my life now. Isitme, I haven't been offered anything. Having midwife app on Monday at 41 weeks so I guess I will find out then. Am assuming they will offer me a sweep which I am still terrified about!

Isitme1 · 28/07/2013 10:44

Ooh twiny thats a piss take.
I hope she at least gives you a sweep and books you in quick for iol if nothing kicks off.

Should be going home today as blood levels have come back up :)
Finally!
X

Isitme1 · 28/07/2013 10:46

A sweep isnt that bad.
Its pretty uncomfortable but should set you off.
Just make sure you wear a pad before going as you can bleed a lil
X

Reebok · 28/07/2013 11:05

Glad to hear you're going home. Really hope it's not painful. Women online keep saying how much it hurts and I have a super low pain threshold so am currently freaking out. Can they give you anything like gas n air to dull out the pain?? Stupid question I know...but I'm a right chicken! How on earth am I supposed to give birth???

ZingWidge · 28/07/2013 11:13

reebok a sweep is uncomfortable and you might feel a bit of a pinch, but really nowehere near as painful as a proper contraction.

you want a good, strong sweep so that it will do its job!
in fact with DS5 I was 9 days over and so desperate to avoid another ELSC I told midwife she had my permission to go to town. It did hurt, but I didn't care, I wanted to go into labour. went home, DTD - and he was born in 12 hours!

mrsspagbol · 28/07/2013 11:14

Reebok I have had 2 sweeps and you will be fine. Just try to relax, keep breathing. Flowers

ZingWidge · 28/07/2013 11:15

and yes as about gas & air

and you might want to write on your belly with a red pen that you want an epidural....Wink

ZingWidge · 28/07/2013 11:15

*ask

Isitme1 · 28/07/2013 11:25

If its in the community you might not have access to gas and air but if its at the hosp then yep breathe away!

A sweep (to me) felt like dh was 'too deep' Blush
She kept asking if I was ok. As you'll be over you should feel the benefits of it pretty quickly
X

Reebok · 28/07/2013 11:39

Thanks ladies, you're helping me feel slightly better. Yes twin it's at the hospital so will defo ask about gas n air. Hope the rest of the ladies waiting are ok today?

marushka82 · 28/07/2013 12:10

Hey everyone, quick question... I have a suspicion my waters started trickling out, but not sure... it's more watery than VD and sort of smells semeny (why are most of my posts on here TMI? lol) No pain or contractions though, so I might just wait a bit and then call the birth centre to ask them. I heard somewhere they have tests to determine whether you're leaking amniotic fluid or just normal VD!

TomDaleysTrunks · 28/07/2013 13:12

Waters going tend to give you a huge burst then a trickle. It should be clear and watery. Wouldn't be the consistency of semen, which is thicker.

Hope that helps!

marushka82 · 28/07/2013 13:19

it's watery consistency :) I'll wait for a bit and maybe give the MW a call later! thanks Tom!

ZingWidge · 28/07/2013 13:25

marushka have a wee, wipe yourself with a wet towel, and after drying yourself put a maternity pad in your knickers.
(or even just tissue or kitchen paper)

if it gets wet as you are walking around it's the waters -it will trickle out even if you are "holding in".

there's never TMI when it comes to pg and labour! Wink

ZingWidge · 28/07/2013 13:29

tom if it's hindwaters there's not always a burst! I had that twice, it's confusing!

( imagine a 2l bottle full of liquid.
if you slash the bottom of it liquid will gush out.
if you slash halfway up or above there will be less force and volume.
if you slash it very near the top it will only leak if tilted!)

TomDaleysTrunks · 28/07/2013 13:53

Grin zing. Listen to the wise one Marushka.

marushka82 · 28/07/2013 14:32

Nothing now so I'm waiting, but in the morning when I was lying on my side in bed it was definitely 'pooling' inside (if I wasn't pregnant I'd think I've got my period).
I'll keep and eye on it!

TomDaleysTrunks · 28/07/2013 15:12

Least something is happening for you. Am seriously fed up now! Huge Braxton Hicks over lunch have now stopped.
