cogito massive congratulations! Thanks

ZingBoy1 is 12 today! I'm glad BabyCog shares his Birthday with him!Wink

so who's still going - reebok, tom, marushka, waves...anyone else?

Let's go babies, do your things!Smile

ZingWidge · 27/07/2013 14:40

and PFE of course.

marushka82 · 27/07/2013 15:42

I'm so sick of waiting for something to start happening! So so bored and tired. It's too bloody hot to go anywhere, all my friends are busy and I'm just dying of boredom. I know once the baby is here I will probably miss those lazy days but seriously, I've had three weeks of this now and I'm done.
Rant over.

TomDaleysTrunks · 27/07/2013 16:06

Happy Birthday zingboy1. Sounds like a superhero. Have you been doing lovely things today?

Congratulations cogito. Glad to hear you are both doing well. Are you home yet?

marishka make the most of this time. Go for a swim, go out for lunch, shopping, read the paper...! Try and take your mind off things. That's what I've been doing and I feel better for it. Baby has to come soon! How far along are you?

Chin up reebok. Really feel for you. Was wondering if it was worth getting a midwife to examine you so you know how things are looking?

marushka82 · 27/07/2013 16:59

Tom - I'm 40+3 today, I know I've still got time and I think it's the constant heat that's not helping me either! eh.
How far along are you?

Reebok · 27/07/2013 17:37

Hi ladies

Firstly congrats cogito! So pleased for you. Since Wednesday! Ouch! Long labour or what!

Nothing so far today except a constant dull back ache and slight tightness now and then. Have decided to just ignore it all. Went out today with friends for lunch and a walk in the shops. Has cheered me up to feel a bit normal for the day.

I have a midwife app on Monday so will see what they can do for me then. 40+5 today. Baby will come when she wants to...cogito, you've shown me that today so thank you!

Reebok · 27/07/2013 18:40

Got a sudden burst of energy too despite the lack of sleep which is so odd. Feel to clean but house is already clean so am just walking around in an attempt to tire myself out.

ZingWidge · 27/07/2013 18:49

Reebok
I think we should be given a Best Before End date (not a due date), so instead of being late we could only ever be early!

and if baby is not born by BEE, that is the day for induction or ELSC and there would be less pressure to deliver on time.
and noone would ever have to feel like a failure for being late!
(like me, every time - bar ELSC)

what do you think? Smile

Reebok · 27/07/2013 19:22

That's a brilliant idea zing! Lol made me laugh!
Got this irritating stitch like pain in middle of my back now that comes round to left of my bump. Maybe I over did it today.

cogitosum · 27/07/2013 19:34

I know it's a cliche but please please please sleep! One of the reasons my labour stopped was because I was physically exhausted. Also despite eating normally on the Wednesday I was starving on the Thursday (had keytones in urine) because I was using all my energy on contractions

Reebok · 27/07/2013 19:36

Wish I could cogito but my

Reebok · 27/07/2013 19:36

Pains come out at night until early morning so only managing few hours here and there. Can't sleep in day because of heat.

cogitosum · 27/07/2013 19:58

I know I was the same. Just try to rest when you can and eat well. I really hope things happen for you soon

ZingWidge · 27/07/2013 20:12

and you can take paracetamol tablets.
it will ease pain just enough so you can have a sleep!
people worry that taking painkillers will stop them from feeling any pain or knowing when in labour, but I promise you it won't.

if they did, we wouldn't need anything else, ever!

cogito is right, even if you don't sleep, lying down will conserve your energies.

shineypeacock · 27/07/2013 20:19

Hello ladies,

Im due baby no1 on tuesday and since last sunday have been having pains, which ramped up yesterday afternoon, went to hospital and was told i was 1cm dialated, 40% effaced and 2/5 palpaple, the hospital told me to go home, rest, walk if possible, take paracetamol bounce etc.

Well i have been doing this for last 26 hrs, and am still getting pains, also shooting pains in my back, that go through my neck and into my head, dont know if this is because baby is back to back, have been having browny discharge all day and think my waters may be leaking, have a pad on to m

shineypeacock · 27/07/2013 20:23

Sorry--
To monitor, i called the labour ward again this afternoon as i was concerened about the headaches, blood pressure was up yesterday and they told me to have a bath, and take paracetamol! Pains are gradually increasing, but nothing dramatic and not enough to go back in, i had abt 3grs sleep yesterday and dont think i can cope with another night like that, am very emotional and dint know what to do really, some advice woukd be good x

wavesandsmiles · 27/07/2013 21:13

Rubbish connection here so no personals but my little DS, Caspian, was born naturally at 1707 this afternoon weighing 7lb 3. Was a frustrating labour process but after observing me this am I had stretch and sweep at 10 when they found even erratic cx had got me to 5cm dilated, then at 1.30
I had ARM as was at 9cm still with erratic contractions. However, did the whole thing pain free as planned and birthed in water as planned, with the exception of gas and air as I delivered but little monkey had been back to back and head turned to transverse so it was challenging getting him out!

Airfryer · 27/07/2013 21:23

I had a show earlier......went toned at 6.30pm and woke at 8pm with belly ache. Had massive clear out (Tmi).....braxton hicks now as is normal for evenings

marushka82 · 27/07/2013 21:29

Congrats Waves!!!!

TomDaleysTrunks · 27/07/2013 22:56

Evening all

shinypeacock sounds a lot like early labour. If you are worried, call the MW again and ask to be seen. Try and take some paracetamol and get some rest while you can.

waves congratulations. Well done you, sounds fairly epic!

TomDaleysTrunks · 27/07/2013 22:59

reebok how are you doing? I second and third zing and cogito advice about resting. Try not to analyse every twinge / feeling. I found I was doing this a lot and it was stopping me sleeping and just making me very anxious. Easier said than done, obv.

BH tonight but nothing else.

ZingWidge · 27/07/2013 23:40

waves wonderful news, congratulations! Thanks

and a lovely name too, well done, mama!Smile

ZingWidge · 27/07/2013 23:49

shiny

how are you doing? you are allowed to be emotional, I think pg, labour and childbirth are very much like a roller coaster. you are exhilarated, then scared shitless and back again!

it's really hard to cope with pain, especially if it is irregular.

I wonder if shooting pain is to do with baby shifting and pressing on some nerves.
if you have any doubts definitely check with MW again. They won't mind!

hopefully it wil speed up soon.

leftover birthday cake anyone?
I still can't believe it was 12 years ago that I was going through this with ZingBoy1! my PFB!

ZingWidge · 27/07/2013 23:51

airfryer any progress?

Tom, Marushka, Rebook - are you ok?

marushka82 · 28/07/2013 00:11

Nothing to report here, just frustration over no BH, no contractions, no waters breaking... eh. I'm going to book an app with a hairdresser on Monday, if Murphy's law works I should then go to labour right before that, heheh. Good plan? :D
