Morning ladies!

reebok how you doing?

bear sounds like things are slowly progressing. You'll have your baby very soon, how exciting.

Any news from isitme?

TomDaleysTrunks · 22/07/2013 02:38

Hi to tinky, Moomin and HJ. How Are you getting on now?
Can't sleep. Not sure why, still niggling away. Just sat watching Big Bang theory and eating shreddies. Exciting eh?!

moominmaiden · 22/07/2013 05:33

How is everyone this morning?

So... I think my waters have just broken :-o

Not dramatically or anything. I woke up at about five and was drifting back to sleep again when I felt a warm gush. Trickled out when I was on my way to the loo and when I squeezed as if peeing more came out with a small time of blood. Put on some knickers and a pad and it continues to trickle out.

No contractions but feel very ... dazed I guess, thinking we might finally be in business.

Not sure if I should wake DH?

(And this after me confidentially telling sisters last night that most women's waters don't break until well into established labour...)

ZingWidge · 22/07/2013 08:05

Tom

it all started with a big bangGrin

Reebok · 22/07/2013 08:28

Lol zing

Hello newbies and good luck moomin!

No news Tom. Baby is well settled in me so it does not look like anything will happen for me today. It seems our fellow pregnant royal though has gone into labour!

RememberingMyPFEs · 22/07/2013 08:34

Good luck Moomin!

Hope we see more bubs arriving today tho I'm unlikely to be one of the lucky ones, still very few signs and 8 days til due date... Very impatient to meet her now though! DH is getting last big job finished in house today so I'm wondering if after than I might relax enough to start - she's certainly low enough to pop out and seems to love head-butting my cervix regularly (ouch!)

HJBeans · 22/07/2013 08:48

Thanks for late night advice all. I tried and managed to get back to sleep and no more excruciating jabs this morning. Will call to get MW advice, though.

Exciting we've got a few here in with a shout of some commemorative royal pennies, surely top of everyone's priority lists during labour! Good luck to those progressing and those who aren't yet.

littleacceb · 22/07/2013 08:57

So... for the first time I'm envious of Princess Kate! Had such vivid dreams that it was coming last night, only to find that he's still sitting in my lung-space. DS1 was born the equivalent of tomorrow, so I'm praying that his brother has the same idea... But we shall see.

Yay, Moomin! Hope all goes swimmingly :)

Reebok · 22/07/2013 09:05

Littleacceb, me too! Today is my due date...and although I figured baby would be late, I'm kind of frustrated that Kate has managed to go into labour before me...while here I sit...still pregnant and uncomfortable. Having dreams about the labour process which I think has put me off!

moominmaiden · 22/07/2013 09:16

Home from hospital now. Waters gone, but only mild contractions so am back to my cleaning, although must admit first thing I did on arriving wash home was wash my hair and trim my lady garden, which has become wild in the last few months ;)

DH refused to help with the latter as he is still not quite recovered from me pissing on him whilst trying to instigate sex last week (do not recommend this as a seduction tactic) and he's not particularly keen on me dousing him in waters too Grin

Good luck all - hope I'm not the only one today!!

Reebok · 22/07/2013 09:18

Lol moomin! You have just made my day with that hilarious post!!

moominmaiden · 22/07/2013 09:25

Thanks :) And sorry your LO is still keeping you waiting ... at least it is not as hot today!

You could always try the labour yoga dance Grin

Reebok · 22/07/2013 09:32

Thanks moomin. Ah I knew my LO wouldn't come on time today although DH is still convinced she will arrive soon.

It's so hot today! I'm already roasting! Want to take another long walk but dreading the heat. Lol@the dance. I'm tempted to just start jumping up and down on my bed as I don't have a trampoline.

moominmaiden · 22/07/2013 09:36

Oh no! It's lovely and drizzly here in Yorkshire - wish I could send you a few clouds!

Well I was doing a very sedate interpretation of the dance (vague squats next to the bed) at 2am and waters broke at 5am, so you've nothing to loose by bed bouncing (beyond a few springs if you're anything like me!)

[Grin]

Reebok · 22/07/2013 09:43

You lucky woman! We had a thunderstorm in London but now it's hot again. :(

I'm been squatting daily but doesn't help. Lol although I'm all bump, I think I may break my bed!

Eatchocolatedrinkgreentea · 22/07/2013 09:46

Hi ladies, so here we start another day of frustration that our little ones are way too comfy!
Had a couple of sharp stabbing pains at at 22.50 last night and then nothing. Not sure what they were but baby is still inside so mustn't have been anything urgent.
Hope your all well and hello to the new ladies in the thread! X

ZingWidge · 22/07/2013 09:56

you all know that Kate's in hospital, don't you?

Reebok · 22/07/2013 10:01

Yes zing (cries silently)...

Eat choc...I think I may drown my sorrows and spend the day eating choc. Need something to cheer me up.

Funnily last night was the first night in two weeks I didn't have any contractions! Maybe baby has jumped back up!

HJBeans · 22/07/2013 10:33

Two questions for you moomin:

How did you manage to see enough of your lady garden for self-trim? I need to do this, but am struggling to get a reliable view and figure overgrown is better than prematurely wounded!

And what's this magical yoga labour dance of which you speak?

I, too, am a wee bit jealous of Kate. Though there's a pretty good trade-off in the world's press having no interest at all in what's going on with my cervix...

ZingWidge · 22/07/2013 11:24
Crown
TomDaleysTrunks · 22/07/2013 11:43

Grin Moomin! Any more contractions?

Can recommend mopping for triggering BH. Just cleaned like a mad woman for an hour! Woke up feeling like I needed to poo, lots of back pain. Nothing's really seems to be progressing though. Muggy here in SE Wales.

moominmaiden · 22/07/2013 12:08

Contractions coming every 15 minutes but not too painful, just menstrual crampy...

Sister foolishly came and perched on toilet for a chat while I was in the bath, so lady garden was trimmed with her giving instructions from a distance. After some acrobatics I managed to get a view of the results in the bedroom mirror - suffice to say I will not be submitting that Toni & Guy application any time soon ;)

Pregnancy yoga dance is a few posts up this thread Grin

TomDaleysTrunks have you tried hoovering the stairs? -ignores health and safety guideline- that's my next port of call :)

SourSweets · 22/07/2013 12:11

Ha, I agree with HJ, I'd hate to think the world was picturing my cervix. I just keep thinking of the midwife who has to scoop her poop.

I've just eaten an entire pineapple (is there any truth to that at all?!) and now my mouth kills.

Good luck to everyone contracting, lets hope we get at least one baby by the end of the day. It definitely won't be mine.

HJBeans · 22/07/2013 12:21

Hilarious, moomin - but am so full of baby that it hurts to laugh properly....

Well done on mass pineapple ingestion, sour. Had a full 'small juicy pineapple' which was just manageable. Now DH has raised the stakes by skipping the 'medium juicy pineapple' and bringing home a 'large juicy pineapple'. There's no way I'll get through it in a day.

Of all the bringing-on-labour bumpf I've read, the pineapple overdose seems among the more plausible - apparently some compound in it that softens the cervix?

HJBeans · 22/07/2013 12:26

Don't know if any of you are statistics junkies or if anyone's mentioned this previously, but if so / not, respectively, have a look at:

spacefem.com/pregnant/daily.php

for daily likelihoods of going into labour.

Numbers stay depressingly low, though. Due the 30th, I've only a 1 in 8 chance of going in the next 3 days. (impatiently drums fingers)
