I'm due on the 17th...2nd baby and so excited. Currently in slow labour so contractions in the evening completely irregular and turning into a disappointing nothing!!!
How are you getting along??

Go go Milla! Good luck... We're all living vicariously through you right now :)

cogitosum · 19/07/2013 11:21

Is everyone on this thread in some kind of labour (albeit slow or false)?

I'm a week over today and haven't had a single contraction or show Sad

Is it possible to go from nothing to proper labour within a day or do you always have the slow contractions etc first?

LittleMilla · 19/07/2013 11:21

GrinGrinGrin Thanks Zing!

BraveLilBear · 19/07/2013 11:28

Hi cogito I had been having niggles but nothing for a few days now. No plug nothing. So it's not just you!

cogitosum · 19/07/2013 11:30

I thought I'd been having nighles but tbh I don't think I'd have noticed if I hadn't been looking out for then iyswim

I did have diarrhea for nearly a week but I think that turned out to be just a bug as I hadn't dilated at all and I'm now back to constipation (apparently there's nothing inbetween!)

RememberingMyPFEs · 19/07/2013 11:31

Go Milla Go Milla Go Milla
Reebok hope things keep moving for you too.

cogito I'm not showing any signs yet either but I'm only 38+3. 2 of the mums from my ante-natal classes went from no signs to full blown in less than 6 hours - no 'latent' phase for them at all. Will keep fx for you. Thanks

wavesandsmiles · 19/07/2013 11:51

Good luck Milla and Reebok I really hope that things progress.

cogito, I am now a week into on/off contractions, but for now the baby seems quite content where he is. Frustrating really, but then I am, like Remembering, only 38 + 3 (although DD was born at 38 +1, and DS at 39, so kind of hoped that there would have been an appearance by now)

I wonder if mowing the lawn would help move things along, or whether I should use this time to keep my feet up and relax?

Reebok · 19/07/2013 12:08

Thanks ladies but things seem to have slowed down today aside from the occasional twinge.

I wouldn't worry cognito. My sister went from no signs to full blown labour in 24 hours a few years back.

Still no show. Hmm... Decided to go for a walk and help things along. Plus I needed chocolate desperately for some reason this morning (thanks eat choc! Lol)

Much cooler at this hour than it is later otherwise I have to wait until after 7 to be able to cope with the heat.

RememberingMyPFEs · 19/07/2013 12:14

waves after the torrid time you've had I'd really recommend taking the time to relax with your feet up m'dear - you have most definitely earned that! Thanks

Eatchocolatedrinkgreentea · 19/07/2013 13:18

Sorry Reebok, my name is my theory, if I drink green tea and keep the weight off I can eat as much chocolate as I like lol. Works for me! Smile hope you keep going and baby is with you soon.

I got a bit upset this morning and had a full blown crying session, since then I've had pressure down below and feel like I've been to the toilet every 2 mins. I'm now bouncing on my ball. Think I needed a good cry!

Reebok · 19/07/2013 13:21

Lol sounds like a good idea eatchoc! Wish I liked green tea. Sounds promising with the loo trips! Keep bouncing!!

Isitme1 · 19/07/2013 13:40

Eatchoc thats your hormones playing up which can happen before labour

woooop woooop go milla

Reebok its zilch here again. Nothing at all.
Im shocked that waters haven't gone! With ds they went at 38weeks!!

Im guessing tomorrow or sunday is the day for all of these babies including kates lol.

Isitme1 · 19/07/2013 13:41

im officially serving all these babies an eviction notice. You have 48 hours to leave the body!

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 13:43

Isitne1 or else?Grin

Reebok · 19/07/2013 13:46

Lol isitme! Here's hoping they listen!!

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 13:50

greentea

I made up the phrase "emotional wank" yesterday to define a "big cry to calm down"

it's based on the film "There's something about Mary"

there's a scene when Ben Stiller goes out with Cameron Diaz and he is utterly nervous.
Matt Dillon (I think) tells him that he should knock one out quickly in the bathroom - that would take away pant up tension and help him calm down and relax.

so having a big cry is just like that, it calms you down, takes away the stress.

I had one yesterday. felt much better after!

*pent up

mamachelle · 19/07/2013 14:06

ooh milla, how exciting! good luck!

isitme- i like it! i am tellin my baby now!

TomDaleysTrunks · 19/07/2013 14:27

Right, tightening every 4 min last 45 secs or so. Going into back, uncomfortable but not painful. What do we reckon? Fully expecting it to stop again. Going to take DD for a walk.

Reebok · 19/07/2013 14:34

Not sure but keep walking...maybe it will help to move things further along. Sounds promising! Fingers are firmly crossed for you!

TomDaleysTrunks · 19/07/2013 14:37

Thanks. Not holding out much hope of it carrying on after so many false starts!

Reebok · 19/07/2013 14:38

I know how you feel. Maybe try squatting? That's what I'm doing today on top of walking.

Isitme1 · 19/07/2013 14:49

I had an emotional wank today :(
After last time ive just realised im petrified of giving birth again. Ive been giving a section second thoughts. But if I have that I wont be mobile quick enough for ds1.Im scaree that ssomething will happen and I end up leaving 2 kids behind.

Feel really shitty.

Walking is very good to keep contractions going tom and Reebok.

There was a nice breeze before dont know where its gone x

Reebok · 19/07/2013 14:57

The heat is back out again so I can't deal with walking outside. Am just walking around the house like a mad woman every so often.

Aw isitme you will be fine. Try not to worry. Don't want it slowing things down! Sending you a twin hug x

Isitme1 · 19/07/2013 15:00

Thank you. Ive packed some clothes for ds1 and will take them over ti where he'll be staying.

Hes at nursery and I miss him loads!! Shouldn't of sent him today. He could of stayed home and kept me company.
Actually the rest is nice lol

I have to sit on the loo to feel the breeze in my house lol.
