Ooo sounds exciting milla! Smile how are you doing? Good luck!

I had my second sweep yesterday. Midwife said I was 3cm now, yay! I told her I didnt want to be induced but she just dismissed me and booked an induction for Wednesday anyway. I don't know what to do now. I'm really upset. Any advice anyone?

MonstersDontCry · 19/07/2013 07:51

Xpost milla! I had that with my first. They were really irregular. Have you phoned the midwife?

LittleMilla · 19/07/2013 07:58

Called the hospital who said to ring them back when 4-5 mins apart. Guess I just wait until they're regularly doing that and it all becomes more uncomfortable?

Seems to be much more frequent when I'm up so decided to have a little lie down to just ease them off a bit Wink.

No idea on inductions, sorry. Surely if you're 3cm things ought to kick off automatically? x

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 08:09

Milla you are in early labour.

a little irregularity is no problem.
the uterus is getting ready.

you are doing well and keeping upright will put more pressure on cervix so running around the house and tidying is fab!

MonstersDontCry · 19/07/2013 08:13

Yes rest while you can! Did you get much sleep last night? I'm ever so slightly jealous. Wink

Just think, you could be holding a snugly newborn by the end of the day!

I really hope it does just happen on it's own. Today would be good. Grin

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 08:15

monsters time for DTD.
really.

as I said before a sweep followed by sex does get things going!
3cms is brilliant, I wouldn't worry about being induced!

a 2nd sweep would be great on Monday - can you book it today? just explain you want to avoid an induction.

The worst thing is to get upset.
happy thoughts!

watch comedy or bloopers on YouTube.
try to relax and keep busy.it will happen.

I did predict 2 babies by Sunday 10pm after all!Wink

MonstersDontCry · 19/07/2013 08:26

I'll try my best to make your prediction come true zing. Grin

We've been DTD nearly every day, although DP was too tired last night Hmm

I've got another sweep booked for Saturday, so hopefully that will get things going!

When was/is your baby due zing?

MonstersDontCry · 19/07/2013 08:28

Oh and no chance of me being able to watch anything on YouTube with DD around as YouTube = peppa pig apparently.

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 09:02

oh I'm not pg. I'm just here to support you all! Wink

TomDaleysTrunks · 19/07/2013 09:05

Sorry Milla I fell asleep! How you doing now? Sounds like things are cranking up. Someone needs to have a baby on this thread!! Keep moving if you can.

TomDaleysTrunks · 19/07/2013 09:06

monster good luck with it! 2nd sweep would be good. Impressed with all the DTD. We've done it twice this week. I bled / lost a bit of plug after one episode but doesn't seem to have done much.
Things slowed down here, very few BH though lots of lower back pain and pressure in bum. Fed up of feeling I need a poo.

Reebok sorry things slowed down Sad

Isitme1 · 19/07/2013 09:16

Milla I hope your silence means your pushing lol

Zing im hoping 1 of them babies is mine. Ive just sooo had enough. Last nighy took the piss. I was in agony with the stabbing shooting bottom of tummy into faj pain.
Theb tightenings and I feel like waters are going to go at any time but obv haven't .

Twin dont worry try and relax and it will happen
.eat choc thats the way. Dont think about it.

Tom how are you feeling

Mama how are you?

Hows everyone?

X

Reebok · 19/07/2013 09:29

Milla this all sounds very exciting. Hopefully you will be holding your LO by the end of the day.

Thanks isitme and Tom...I'm sure things will start up again soon enough. I've been in false/slow labour or whatever the hell it is for far too long. Baby will have to arrive soon so back to walking and cleaning like a mad woman again today! Still getting period cramps which is great!

LittleMilla · 19/07/2013 09:33

Not pushing!! Contractions are getting closer together now. Every 4 or 5 mins?

Going for a walk to the coffee shop. Mum is now here and we can whizz to hospital when we need to - only ten mins away. Walking is making them WAY more intense.

Any thoughts on shorter inbetween but also shorter contractions??

Hope someone else shifts soon.

Reebok · 19/07/2013 09:35

How often are contractions supposed to occur for them to take to you? My hospital says 3 contractions in 10 mins lasting a minute each for at least an hour. Does that mean contractions should be 2/3 mins apart? I'm confused!

Isitme1 · 19/07/2013 09:42

Reebok that sounds just about right. Contractions every 3 mins lasting a min or so.

Sorry milla no idea.
Miss smarty pants will come along and answer soon
Grin
Hope things progress soon for all of us.
Its a good thing the hosp is 10mins away.

In traffic it can take close to an hour to get to the 1 im booked at.
Shortest journey time is 20-25min.

Just checked notes. According to growth chart baby is 4100 (9lb) and that was on Monday!

Wow.

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 09:43

Milla that's fine too.
It's not an exact science.

they sound regular and coming quicker already.
excellent progress, A+ from the headmistress! (yep, I took charge. it's a thing)

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 09:43

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 09:48

Reebok bit of womb math for you:
3 contractions in 10 mins - jot down the time each contraction starts.
say: 10.36, 10.40, 10.44
(so could be 4 mins apart, but still 3 within 10 mins!)

isitme1Grin

Reebok · 19/07/2013 10:03

Thanks zing and isitme. Makes more sense now. Thank god for the contraction timer app I have on my phone. Makes it much easier to time the contractions!

Another case of loose bowels sorry tmi! I swear I've never had to run to the loo so fast!

Eatchocolatedrinkgreentea · 19/07/2013 10:07

Reebok - Looks like we could have our first baby by the end if the day!! Yippee. Sadly not mine but keep going us ladies will follow suit eventually.

However I am very jealous.x

Reebok · 19/07/2013 10:12

Eatchoc I very much doubt it. I've had loose bowels for weeks and these stupid annoying contractions too. I have a feeling baby will keep me waiting. She's far too comfy in her own private pool to get out and suffer in the heat like the rest of us. She will come when she's ready I guess!

Ps your name is making me want to eat chocolate now!

Isitme1 · 19/07/2013 10:49

Hope somebody has a child soon lol.

Quite happy this morning ds is singing london bridge is falling down (we've had a lot of problems with his speech and its the past few months thats brought his speech on)

Talking about tomorrow mum wants to come with me to make sure everything goes ok. Think mum and dh will take it in turns to sit with me
X

LittleMilla · 19/07/2013 11:00

They're getting closer together and very intense, esp when walking around.

Just spoken to hospital who are happy for me to go in. I'm not expecting to be more than 3cm but being vbac I'd rather know what's happening. Esp as I'm starting to find it all very uncomfortable. Time to take some paracetamol I think Grin!!

Will keep you all posted x
