Great news Pumpkin!!

Hope you are ok Pentagon- hope you can take your mind off your scan and try to relax. What about some chocolate or nice cookies for a mid morning snack xx

Pentagon · 13/06/2013 09:52

Thanks jmf Smile - I have a chocolate muffin on my desk but I'm so stressed I feel sick...I've just been reading a different MN thread about problems detected at the 20-week scan which hasn't helped...silly me, I knew I should have skipped it (not that it mentioned anything I didn't know but still, reading it wasn't a good idea)

pumpkinsweetie · 13/06/2013 09:55

I meant 2013Grin lol, goodluck for tomorrow pentagon x

IBelieveInPink · 13/06/2013 10:22

Pentagon - I did the same. Actually googled it. When will I learn?!

jmf294 · 13/06/2013 10:37

Pentagon- read a celeb magazine or dailymail online instead, read about Tamara Ecclestone's wedding or Kim Kardishan's latest drama. Will take your mind of your worries maybe.

Can you tell I'm very very bored at work today- meant to be writing reports and letters and I can't be arsed!! Already eaten my lunch of 2 rolls and salt and vinegar crisps!!

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 13/06/2013 10:42

Great news Pumpkin, hang on in there Pentagon - And don't forget your notes Grin

Brill news pumpkin Grin

Bladder update: continually desperate for a wee but only producing a trickle has started a lot earlier than with DS Angry Grin

GardenWorm · 13/06/2013 15:58

Fab news Pumpkin! Grin

Shellshock I have a similar problem at night time, keep waking thinking I need a wee but after going once I refuse to go again as I know I can't possibly need to! I was thinking to myself this morning that I'm sure I wasn't like this until 7 or so months last time....must be getting old! Lol!

GardenWorm · 13/06/2013 16:02

Good luck for tomorrow Pentagon, hope you manage to get just a little bit of sleep tonight x

GaryBuseysTeeth · 13/06/2013 16:32

Congrats Pumpkin!! Grin

Good luck for tomorrow Pentagon...hope you've managed to take your mind off it.

jmf, hope you managed to get some work done! I really can't see Kim & Kanye lasting, they never seem to spend any time in the same country, I've been on the DM sidebar of shame today & I'm not proud. Blush

Hope everyone manages a wee soon! I find sitting with my feet on DS's stepping stool helps to move things along....

BumpKitty · 13/06/2013 18:17

Brilliant news pumpkin did you think you were 10 weeks something or weren't you sure? Ace that you get another scan :)

Good Luck Pentagon I've forgotten are you finding out the sex? And good tip about staying away from that thread - I will remain ostrich like for now! Do you have a morning scan?

BlackholesAndRevelations · 13/06/2013 18:20

Congrats on the scan, pumpkin Grin

pumpkinsweetie · 13/06/2013 18:27

Thankyou everyoneSmile. Hi bumpkitty, i'm 10wks 6 days, was supposed to be 12 weeks today so a week and a day out, but i'm not worried as with my dd1 i was out by 2 weeks. Couldn't quite remember the exact day my last period started so took a rough guess, hence my dates being out. So glad i'm still going to get another scan though, i will get to see my little bean lotsSmile

Pentagon · 13/06/2013 22:08

pumpkin it's great that you'll get another scan in a couple of weeks' time!

Thank you all for your wishes! I had my chocolate muffin in the afternoon and that cheered me up a bit. Most probably I will get some sleep, simply because DD woke up at 5am today and I'm shattered!!! Notes and hospital letter in my bag... bump my scan is in the afternoon (it'll be a long day for me!) and we will find out the sex, all being well. Indeed, it's wise to avoid threads like that; and ibip definitely stay away from google!

Good night all!x

BlackholesAndRevelations · 14/06/2013 06:42

Good luck pentagon!!

andadietcoke · 14/06/2013 07:10

Good luck pentagon will be thinking of you this afternoon. Try and enjoy the scan!

I've got my anaesthetic review this afternoon because I have a weird rare condition where my throat closes up. Then scan, mw and 'consultant' on Tuesday and then the raised BMI clinic the following Tuesday which I'm exceptionally pissed off about. I know it's for my own good, but I've put on 20lbs which is good for a twin pg, and I'm only just now in the higher BMI bracket, which should really have only gone off my pre pregnancy weight not my 'I'm carrying around two babies' weight. And at 29 weeks they're unlikely to suddenly make me healthy, are they?! Oh well. It seems I don't have gestational diabetes though - would have heard by now I think. After how ill I felt after it I'm a little bit surprised!

Rant over, sorry. Today we are pregnant Wink

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 14/06/2013 07:28

Good luck today Pentagon

I'm also in the frequent wee gang, really annoying waking up every night at 3am - I guess it's good practise for what is to come. I have got too used to DS sleeping through that when he wakes up in the night it throws me for the next day.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 14/06/2013 07:29

Hugs Anda Flowers

Throat closing up sounds terrifying! Is that with general anaesthetic? Hopefully you won't need one?

Tuesday is taking aaaaaages to come round, isn't it?! Sad

IBelieveInPink · 14/06/2013 07:29

Good luck today pentagon. Will be thinking of you!

GardenWorm · 14/06/2013 07:54

Thinking of you today Pentagon

Anda in my experience things tend to either get ramped up or missed. I am very lucky in that my usual midwife has years of experience and doesn't do either. I would try and take the BMI thing with a pinch of salt (maybe not literally as they'll find something wrong with your sodium levels next), there is a lot of 'arse covering' that goes on nowadays probably not assisted by the compensation culture (my rant). If you feel that strongly about it then tell them - they can't make you go to the clinic, don't feel pressurised into doing something you don't want to. It's hard when it's your first (and second in your case) as you feel like everything they say must be right to a certain extent because you've not done it before. As I'm on number two I am happily pre armed and won't take any crap this time!

On a similar note has anyone had a hooping cough vaccination mentioned?

andadietcoke · 14/06/2013 07:55

Oh no blackholes it's not related to anaesthetic at all - they just need to check my condition in case it impacts what anaesthetic they can give me (it shouldn't!).

It's a condition called eosinophilic oesophagitis - I'm allergic to something, but they have no idea what it is - in response to it I produce too many eosinophils in my throat which then irritate it, it swells up, and I find it hard to swallow food. When it gets really bad I end up in A&E to either have it removed surgically or to have an IV muscle relaxant. It's awesome!

andadietcoke · 14/06/2013 08:02

Thanks garden - I'll go. I'm doing exactly as I'm told! I know it's for the best, tbh it was just the information they sent with it about risks of stillbirth etc that unsettled me.

I'm having the whooping cough jab - need to ask about it at my 28w appt next week. As I said, I do as I'm told Wink

shellsocks · 14/06/2013 13:22

Good luck pentagon hope you get to find out the flavour Smile

garden I have escaped the night wakings thus far...and did with DS too, had some bouts of insomnia but once off I'm off Smile

anda that sounds scary! And it must depend what PCT you are cos I put on 4st last time Blush and no one batted an eyelid?!

I will have the jab too, it's non active I think and the effects of WC on a new born baby are more terrifying to me than any possible side effects of the jab?

Pentagon · 14/06/2013 17:10

Thanks ladies, I've just got back from the scan - all is well, thank goodness, and it's a girl!! Very happy and relieved! Smile I have a brother (always wished for a sister though) so having 2 girls feels like unknown territory, no idea what it will be like...wonderful, I'm sure!

I think I will have the whooping cough jab as well as the flu one (had neither during my last pregnancy)

anda how did your anaesthetic review go? I understand why you're pissed off about your appointment next Tuesday, if 20lbs is normal for a twin pregnancy and you've only just hit the higher BMI bracket, I don't understand what the point of it is. It's not like you're way off the charts - and you're carrying two after all! Don't dwell on it too much, they're just trying to look after you I guess...

I can't believe how sunny and warm it is this afternoon (in London at least), I hope it stays like this for the weekend. x

GaryBuseysTeeth · 14/06/2013 17:45

Hurrah Pentagon, and yay for a girl! John Lewis have lots of lovely little dresses in atm Envy
Really annoyed about the weather, looked like it was going to pour all day so we didn't bother going to the park (and DH did a half day!) & now look at that sunshine! Grrrh!

anda, that sounds really scary, hope appointment went well today?

Garden, I had the whopping cough jab a few weeks back, still bruised & was itchy for over a week but aside from that no side effects.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
DH is working, boo hiss etc.
