kitty the stomach bug shouldn't affect the baby nor should carrying your DD. But I understand why you're worried! I was the same when I got an upset stomach at 11 weeks. My bump also felt flabbier a few weeks ago so don't let this freak you out.

choc good luck today!!

janie enjoy your holidays!

Most of my maternity clothes are from GAP, Mamas & Papas or Jojon Mama Bebe (either on sale or off ebay). I managed to hide my bump till about 13-14 weeks this time but after that it became really noticeable! I'm definitely much bigger at this stage than I was with DD (when I announced it to work and most friends after my 20-week scan)

LuckySocks13 · 10/06/2013 11:27

Kitty I had a nasty tummy bug when pregnant with DS and all was fine. Just keep hydrated. I would call your midwife to put yur mind at rest. Janie, happy holidays my lovely :) I'm just back but want to go again! Got my lucky cow socks on at the ready for my 16 week appointment today. Am hoping she will listen for a heart beat as I'm feeling so anxious. I gave up at the weekend as I figured I'm going today anyway. I got a few summer cropped jeans off ebay from Dorothy Perkins which were great when I was away and also a maternity skirt. Have been wearing loose normal tops with these so far.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/06/2013 12:55

Congrats on the scan anda!
Good luck for today choc, and I hope she'll Doppler you today Lucky!

Welcome Eeyore

Belated happy birthday to miniGarden, I hope to get DS a kitchen for his birthday this year so very jealous you've got one to play with!

Re. Maternity jeans, I bought a pair of 'normal' jeans 3 sizes bigger than my normal size & have been wearing them with a hairband. I don't find over the bump comfortable & my underbump jeans don't have pockets in the front!
Got some really nice stuff in Dorothy P when I pg with DS but they don't seem to do maternity stuff anymore!

jmf, Boden maternity was really awful quality last time I bought (2011!), sent everything back to them. I bought a pair of M&P jeans for £10 in the sale (free delivery) & am v.impressed with them.
John Lewis have some Seraphine dresses/tops reduced atm, not sure how their prices compare to elsewhere.
There's some budget stuff on ebay now, they did have loads more Figleaves underwear a few weeks back, so might have some more in the near future?

((Kitty)) hope you're feeling better asap. Do you think you'll phone the MW?

Have a lovely holiday Janie!

31 weeks here & feeling it, going to have a talk with MW about SPD as I can't really do anything physical atm, I know it gets worse with each pg so I'm aware another pg would probably be a really bad idea for me.
And it's my mc edd this week so there's an awful lot of moping to be done.

Hope everyone has a lovely week!

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 14:42

Is anyone there to give me a giant fish slap please? I am stressing. Again.
No real reason. Just that 20 week scan is coming up and I am worrying about what they might find. I know the chances are everything will be okay, but odds haven't worked out well for me so far!

I know this is ridiculous, and is worrying for no real reason, unlike poor unwell bump who clearly has a valid (but at the same time very unlikely to be a problem) reason to feel worrried.

But I just can't concentrate. Please, someone slap me. :(

Gary - sorry to hear how painful your spd is. Must be something they can do to help?!

Pentagon · 10/06/2013 15:14

cyber slap ibip Wink and one for myself too! I feel exactly the same... When is your scan? Mine is on Friday and the stress is slowly building up!

gary 31 weeks - wow! Sorry to hear about your PSD (is there something you can do or take that will help?) and impending MC EDD....just think that you are successfully pregnant and how much worse it would be if that weren't the case...

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 15:27

Pentagon - thank you. It is a week on Friday, so ages to wait! The fear has got me though, I literally can't sleep/concentrate etc. nightmare.

LuckySocks13 · 10/06/2013 18:51

Fish flapping its way to you IBIP! Although I'm sure everyone worries just the same. So hard not to. Sorry to hear of your Spd Garry :( I had that with DS. Most miserable. Hope you can get some relief. Had my 16 week appointment and heard heartbeat which was amazing :) tried at home with my Doppler again and I just can't seem to do it! Very frustrating! I am so tired today and am in. Ed already. DH is home so be will have to put DS to bed. Feeling nauseous again too! Anyone else got the nausea back at 16 weeks ?

andadietcoke · 10/06/2013 18:58

ibip there is no way you're getting a slap from me. Instead have some virtual sympathy hair stroking and a hug. I know exactly what you're going through. Try to stay busy, especially this weekend. I kept myself (very) busy doing baby shopping research. I have a very intricate spreadsheet that kept me occupied between weeks 18 and 20. I had to get prices from three different retailers for each item (DH is a hard task master who works in the public sector!!). And guess what, making it didn't jinx anything (I was supposed to be starting to buy stuff after 20w. I'm 27w tomorrow and still haven't bought anything!).

BUT... First day of the third trimester today GrinGrinGrinGrin

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 18:59

Lucky - fab news about the heartbeat!! That's great! still bitter my midwife wouldn't listen

Yep I got the nausea back too. At about 15/16 weeks. Not badly. Although I did vom at work today. Turns out baby doesn't like jelly babies!!

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 19:03

Yay diet!! Hello third trimester!!!

Ooh, shopping, that's a good idea. We have already picked our pram and car seat. Not sure what else we need really!!! Can you tell it's my first and I have no idea?! Ha!

I am very busy between now and then, but I just can't stop thinking about it. Argh! Sorry, I know it's the same for everyone. Rant rant rant.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/06/2013 19:11

Great news about heartbeat, lucky! I heard it at both my 16 week appointments with dc so will be very disappointed if they've decided to stop hearing heartbeats at 16 weeks round my way!

Pink- oo what pram have you chosen?! (pram fan!)

My 12 week scan is a week tomorrow... I am 12 weeks today. Was hoping the tiredness would ease off but it hasn't.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/06/2013 19:12

How exciting about third trimesters! Woop woop!

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 19:23

Blackholes - we have chosen the uppababy vista. Just not decided which colour yet!

Ooh good luck for scan tomorrow :)

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/06/2013 19:32

Aw I wish it was tomorrow... It's a week tomorrow! Oh well, I'm telling myself that means I have less time to wait until the 20 week scan...... Posifrickintive mental attitude.....

Off to google uppabavy, never heard of it! Smile

GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/06/2013 19:33

I'm happy to fish slap anyone Grin feeling very hormonal & ratty today.
Nausea keeps on popping up here without any warning, sorry to hear baby doesn't like jelly babies IBIP....send any spare this way!

Great news Lucky!
Hurrah for 3rd trimester anda!

Good luck for tomorrow Blackholes!

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 19:35

Sorry Blackholes, totally misread that!! Week tomorrow then. Let's hope this week goes really really quickly!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/06/2013 19:38

Thanks! Grin

The uppababy looks awesome- I google imaged it and especially like the idea of the rumble seat AND buggy board being used at once- would bs great to transport three under fours!! Wink where stocks it? X

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 19:41

John lewis and kiddicare are the 2 I have found so far. And some smaller local stockists too. Mothercare and mamas and papas don't- they are missing a massive trick there!!! Isn't it fab!!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/06/2013 19:45

Yes it is! There's a new kiddicare near me, woop!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/06/2013 19:48

Hmm I think IBIP & I are sharing our brain cell today! Misread your post too Blackholes!

I do luff our Kiddicare (Lakeside), just wish they did more in the way of clothes & feeding stuff!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/06/2013 19:53

Lol Gary! It's ok, my braincell is long gone! Grin

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 19:59

Blackholes - new one near me too..... You not in Bristol are you?!

BumpKitty · 10/06/2013 20:09

Evening all, I'm back home now and exhausted! Thank you all for your messages and sorry for going off on one! I didn't call my midwife, I think part of the reason I was so stressed is because I was just with my Dad and DD and my Dad is a real worrier so I didn't want to say how concerned I was, which meant I had no-one to rant at!
Everything I have read says stomach bugs should not be a problem, and (tmi alert) I haven't had any more diarrhoea since this morning so maybe the worst bit is over. I'm still concerned about lack of movements but it wasn't as if I was getting really definite ones before so I'm not sure what to think. if only I had a Doppler!
Also I just had pasta with tomato and pepper sauce and looks like the heartburn is on its way back!
So generally feeling better but still a bit nervous, I will see what tonight and tomorrow bring.
ibip hypocritical :) we can do our countdown of mounting scan doom together. Re stuff you'll need, somewhere for the baby to sleep? Unless you're cosleeping. And some clothes :)
anda great news about your scan, makes complete sense why you couldn't feel anything on one side! I could never tell which way DD was lying and there was only one of her! And happy third trimester! go and buy some stuff!
lucky yey for heartbeat Grin
gary boo for SPD, can you see a Physio?

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 10/06/2013 21:38

Evening all, scan was all good - little wriggler is still there and still wriggling. My Nt measurement was 1.6 which she said was pretty normal for my age (36) and at 13.0 weeks (EDD 16 Dec) so fingers crossed that the test comes back ok. Was a different woman to Friday which was good as SHE DIDN'T BLOOMING LOOK AT MY NOTES SAVE TO GET A BLOODY ADDRESS STICKER - I couldn't look at DH - he was fuming but was under strict orders not to say anything. Plus she was lovely and not her fault her colleague is a stinky jobs worth.

Can now finally order some maternity clothes! Need some kind of trousers desperately!

Ibip - see if you can get Moses basket and baby bath from friends? You'll need a new mattress, but you only use the Moses basket for a max 3-4 months (DS was into his cot at 3 months) and people always seem to have one in the loft which a good steam clean can help with. And baby baths - stopped using mine by 8-19 weeks last time and got a big baby shaped sponge (Mothercare have them) for DS to lie on in our big bath.
There isn't then a massive need to buy too much stuff, you will be able to go shopping a week or so afterwards or send DP/family out or order online. They will use 2-3 sleep suits and vests a day (taking into account puke and poo seepage), and you'll need nappies, wipes, bum cream (Metanium is good) calpol, something to help with colicky wind like Infacol or Dentinox. But all stuff you can get in a supermarket.

Gary sorry about the SPD - did you get any referral to see a physio? Did it help if you did?

Bump - good that you are feeling more positive, I had bad food poising when 14 weeks with DS - proper dehydrated bombing etc. As someone else posted, babies are very good parasites and can make sure they get their rations before you get anything (it is a pattern which will last long into their adulthood I understand!)

IBelieveInPink · 10/06/2013 21:53

Wow, thanks choc! And fab news about your scan. So pleased :)

I wasn't going to bother with a Moses basket- the uppababy carry cot is suitable for sleeping, so was just going to use that for day naps and a cot for nighttime? Does this seem sensible?

Have been freaking out about scan all evening. DH doesn't know what to do with me. Going to be a long 10 days.
