Choc that definitely qualifies as seriously bloody annoying! Aaaargh! I suppose you are 'lucky' they can do it on Monday. Feel your pain and hope the weekend races by for you X

BlackholesAndRevelations · 06/06/2013 18:39

Oh how annoying choc!! Really grr Angry

Slapped geek- hahahah! Poor geek Grin I was off work for a while last time as there was slapped cheek in my class- luckily I turned out to be immune. Hope you're ok too jmf!

And happy birthday!! Flowers

I hope you don't mind (if you've even noticed?!) I haven't done my stats as feels like tempting fate.... Sorry. Maybe after the 12 week scan.

dillonsmummie · 06/06/2013 18:47

Hi everyone I don't no if right but I'm in but I just started my period after 4 years but I'm on and off everyday is that normal plus been have brown discharge would be helpful if anyone can give me advice Smile

Kittykatmoll · 06/06/2013 18:55

'Checking In' for the evening! I'm still bleeding on and off. It's going to be a long wait until I return to the EPAC on the 18th.

I'm not sure how to add my stats but here they are;

1MMC, EDD 4th Feb, Next Scan June 18th.

Everything crossed for all of us.

Vixjane · 06/06/2013 19:06

choc how frustrating! Hope you got a busy weekend to keep your mind off things.

Fingers crossed for you kitty

I'm at the stage that normal clothes are getting too tight but don't have a bump for maternity clothes!

Just out of curiosity, how long is everyone thinking of taking for mat leave? My new boss is asking me so he can start with the mat cover etc and i'm not sure how long to say!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 06/06/2013 19:30

Vix- you don't have to tell him at all! He has to assume you're taking the full year and if you go back any sooner than that, you just have to give 28 days notice. You don't know how you're going to feel; I've got friends who saud they'd go back after six months but then changed their minds and extended to the full year. I guess to help you work it out you could do some sums? How long can you afford to be off?

BumpKitty · 06/06/2013 20:21

vix I said a year as I thought it would be easier to shorten it than lengthen it iyswim. I'm thinking I'll take 9 months this time, still not 100% but it was very hard leaving DD when she was 11 months as they say separation anxiety increases then, though she was always a clingy baby so may have been just as hard to leave at 9 months too. It's pretty hard to decide before you are actually in the situation isn't it?

Vixjane · 06/06/2013 20:57

Thanks both. I want to be as open as poss with my new boss given the situation and want to work well with them so happy to give him a rough idea. We think we can afford for me to take a whole year off if we're careful and don't go mad on spending during that time so it's just about balancing time off off/baby going into childcare with money.

I thibk i'll say the full 52 weeks at this point with a rough idea of beg of November for going to give them an idea. They'd prob be happier with me coming back sooner than asking for mote time off!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 06/06/2013 21:08

Ah yes that makes sense! It's easier for me in a way because I've been lucky enough to be able to base my time around term times/hols and that's given me a structure, if that makes sense?! Had whole year off with DS but we'd saved up while I was preg with him. This time I think I'll take less time for various reasons but I too want to be as open and accommodating as poss with my head so understand where you're coming from. I agree itd be better to go back earlier as long as they don't end up giving someone a year's contract and then having to pay two if you... Could that happen?

Bodicea · 06/06/2013 22:35

Hello for evening,

Choc that is strange. I forgot my green notes too but they are just your own copy. The hospital should have it's own set. what a load of shit! thats really mean.

I have two contracts for two different jobs even though i work for the same trust, which has always been a pain in the butt. two different sets of holidays etc. So thinking of taking advantage of the situation and going back after 9 months on one contract and a year on another. but need a minumum of two days in each job. not sure i really want to work that many days so might have to give up one of my jobs. am gutted cos it will probably be baby scans that goes which I will miss like crazy.

vix they sound tough at your work. mind you i got asked in the tea room the other day in front of loads of people if i planned to go back full time! just said i don't know.

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 06/06/2013 22:38

Vix - I took 9 months last time, and will take 6-9 this time, depending on whether I can get my old job back or not.

Kittykat keeping fingers crossed for you. Is the blood dark red, bright red or going brown? There are lots of reasons for bleeding early on (cervical erosion for example) so not necessarily bad news, but vv worrying all the same.

hi Dillonsmummie - I'm not sure if you've posted on the right thread as this is for people pregnant after having a miscarriage. But if yiu've not had a period for 4 years, I'd not be surprised if the first one was a bit weird. I would make a note of when it started and then see how long your cycle is until the next. It could take a few months to stabilise. Hope that answers your question?

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 06/06/2013 22:45

Hi Bodicea I was hoping you'd be on tonight as I did think it was really "jobs worth" of them not to do the scan. The lady on reception said that they "might not" do my scan without them, which suggests that they have done them before. Was super frustrating, but didn't think it was worth causing a massive scene over (though DH was wanting to)

In other news, DS appears to have started his willy obsession early, hand down his pants when he came home from nursery, and have just been into check him, and there it is again. Is it weird DH is proud of this? Grin

Pentagon · 06/06/2013 23:03

choc how annoying! I'm sorry you have to wait till Monday. I don't remember anyone going through my notes at my 12-week scan aside the midwife who confirmed that my booking blood results were fine... oh and they attached the scan report onto the notes...that's all but maybe it differs from area to area? Where I am the notes stay with the hospital between the booking appointment and 12-week scan and you only get them after the scan (provided it's a successful one of course, when I had my missed miscarriages I didn't...they probably got recycled)

happy birthday jmf - I hope you've had a nice day and an even nicer evening! And fingers crossed you're immune to slapped cheek. Indeed, there's always something to worry about!

kitty I hope the bleeding trails off soon.

Good night everyone!

Bodicea · 06/06/2013 23:17

Choc I guess it does vary area to area how things work but I think it is over the top. We dont like to scan people that havent been to their booking first and havent had time to think about downs screening but even so I have never refused anyone a scan I my life as i know how much people build themselves up to them and would prob get in trouble if I did. It's not like its radiation. Notes go missing all the time and I alway scan people anyway. Hope you get sorted soon.

Happy birthday jmf xxxxx

Kitty also hoping bleeding stops soon xxxxx

Bodicea · 06/06/2013 23:19

Ooh forgot to mention had my first bump grope today! Sure there will be more to come :-)

IBelieveInPink · 06/06/2013 23:33

snort bump grope. I am getting this all the time!! Literally everyone wants a feel! I clearly need to work on my glare!!

Happy birthday jmf! Flowers

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 07/06/2013 08:27

Oh chic you poor thing. How bloody irritating :(

Happy belated birthday jmf! Hope you're going to milk it all weekend like I normally do!!

I had a dream last night that we had our baby, it was a boy with lots of brown hair. Was really sad when I woke up and he wasn't there! Maybe the crazy dreams are starting!

Happy Friday everyone xxx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 07/06/2013 08:27

Choc* not chic!

Oh and the bump grope gives me shivers Shock feel them back next time

LuckySocks13 · 07/06/2013 08:45

Yuck at the bump groping! I'm almost 16 weeks now and am massive. Def popped now and people offering me seats etc! kitty hope the bleeding has stopped. I've had se ed bleeds now of all colours including red. It is very unsettling but lots of reasons for it. Big hug. Happy belated birthday JMF :) Home from hollybobs today. Boo. Where Re you off to Janie? It's. even just what I needed after all the stressful hospital visits.

LuckySocks13 · 07/06/2013 08:47

Sorry for the mistakes! Oops! Hope your weekends are nice everyone. Keep busy choc and not long to the scan. Very frustrating!

IBelieveInPink · 07/06/2013 09:18

Oh my god the dreams!! Seriously I have had some MESSED UP dreams recently. I figured it was a symptom, but they just keep getting weirder!! Ha!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 07/06/2013 09:31

Welcome back lucky :) glad you had a nice relaxing time, I can't wait, we're going to sicily for a week on Monday, never been before bit I've heard good things! Bring on the gelato!!

andadietcoke · 07/06/2013 12:23

Argh. I need slapping with a fish. I've just booked a scan for Sunday. Yes, Sunday, 9 days before my next NHS scan. I think the babies have moved and although I can feel movement on one side it's really muffled and like I'm imagining it. Don't know whether to cancel it and see if maternity triage will just doppler me but don't want to waste their time...

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 07/06/2013 13:19

Oh anda I sympathise, I think you know that we would all probably do the same thing so I don't feel you deserve to be slapped at all. Why don't you try to get a hospital dopple too and if they can see you first then you can maybe cancel the other one?

IBelieveInPink · 07/06/2013 14:10

Diet - definitely try hospital first. Thats what they are there for! Sure everything is okay but best to just get checked. Don't feel bad about it!
