My scan is exactly a week away, already nervous! My new symptom is banging headaches and affection with sausage rolls, definetely not good for my waistline!!

Strange you should say that about waters breaking, with my pfb, dd2 & dd3 i had to have mine broke artificially but with dd4 my waters went before anything else in the middle of the night! It isn't very common for waters to go first, funny how Eastenders and the like make us think its common lol!

Hello "liesl" and "kitty" - really pleased to have some more graduates. Its been a bit thin on the ground recently, so hopefully you have started a trend. Its a lovely thread here to everyone.

My waters went first - I thought I might have had an accident, as it was just a trickle and not a flood. 12 hours later and still not a sign of labour, so luckily the MW gave me a sweep (apparently they're not supposed now).

Labour pains are horrific, but the thing to remember is that they only last a minute and then the relief when they go is like a mini-high.

Think we need a new stats list to help out all us women with crap pregnant memories!

Just added myself to the stats, yay for a EDD and scan buddy Santa and scan buddy bump

Was very pleased with yesterday?s scan, so happy I decided to go back to the FMC. Plus it means that DH can come to the next scan as the time of the hospital one just doesn?t work for him.
I?m a very uh oh about the giving birth thing again, was induced at 40 weeks with DD and she did not want to come out. As they?ll probably want to follow a similar plan for this one I?m going to push for an elcs. That should give an indication of how I feel about it all?..

My waistline has popped ? look proper preggers already, although I think it?s mostly bloating and a bit of swelling from the fragmin injections.

I hate surprises too so we?ll be finding out ? had a scan at 16 weeks last time so might well do the same ? bit of a scan addict her . Been thinking of names and we had enough trouble with DD so this is going to be near impossible. I do like lots of the names mentioned but DH has vetoed most or family and friends have already go there before us. I love Francesca lucky but it so doesn?t go with our name ? our surname rhymes with Fran.

oooh anda your mouse story is pretty horrid! i love your animal saving skills though :) and love the mouse ramp idea!! my cat has 3 legs and dreams of being able to catch birds...i think he has given up though, he shares his breakfast dish with a magpie!

we won't be finding out the sex...well DH really wants to but i'm not wanting to. i was advised by the hospital that i had to make a midwife appointment at my gp surgery at 16-18 weeks. just called the gp and they said they don't have a practice midwife but they could get the nurse to take my bloodpressure. is that all they do at that appointment or is there something more ?! i thought they would do something more exciting

We have 2 James's in the family already so I think a third would be pushing it (also, I cannot stand Jim, irrational dislike!)

I was induced and when they broke my waters I did 'sploosh' everywhere, and continued to sploosh for most of the labour, MW commented on how much water there was.

Janie, it was just blood pressure, wee & a stomach prod at my 16wk appointment so I can't see it 'needing' to be a MW, although it would be helpful if you have questions a general nurse might not know!

We didn't find out the sex with DS, DH says it was lovely to be told he was a boy (I can't remember!) but we found out with this one, and tbh, it doesn't feel as exciting knowing what it is. I don't think we'd find out the sex if we ever had another!

My waters broke with a gush after two days of contractions being stuck at 1cm and the intenstity of them went nuclear and I thought YES this is it! Got to hospital and was still only 1cm...for another 12 hours aaagghhhh

stitch I have been thinking abt CS after last time, but with having DS to look after too I have kind of thought it might be hell for a few days but then I 'should' be able to pick him up etc. soon after, whereas with a CS I'd be worried about the effect on him?

janie I had mine on Monday and they did BP, wee test and listened to HB...they have to ask all the usual mental health questions too. I would be asking more of my GP tbh as you will need a community MW (unless you future MW appts are at the hospital in your area?) as your PG progresses and they measure your growth, palpate the baby (see how engaged you are) and possible sweeps etc?

It's my birthday today!!
Been at work all day and looking forward to going home to have birthday cake with my children and going out to dinner later.

This morning my daughter had bright red cheeks which led me to thinking she may have slapped cheek. Not good news in pregnancy as it can cause miscarriage and other complications. Hopefully I will be immune but I had to speak to the midwife and had an urgent blood test today. If I'm not immune it's lots of monitoring and scans to ensure all is ok.
Fingers crossed but it seems there is always something to worry about!!

Feeling odd today, nervous about my impending scan next week (my 1st one), part of me feels optimistic, part of me doesn't. Saw a really nice babystyle pram for sale for £10 on fb , such a bargain as a spare for bus and days out and don't want to miss my chance buying it, but then a voice in my head says "don't buy it, things could go wrong thurs...". I never was like this before, but since my mc i can't seem to decide or plan anything incase the unfortunate happens and my world comes crashing down. Silly i know, but can't help feeling like it.

Happy birthday jmf I had a slapped geek freak out a few weeks ago but turned out my nephew had baby eczema so I didn't have the tests, hope you are immune.

pumpkin good luck for the scan, the anxiety always ramps up to crazy levels running up to scan day. Last time I convinced myself everything had gone wrong as the dog kept doing a sad face at me! If the pram will freak you out don't get it or get someone else to buy it and keep it for you xx

I can have a cs if I want as I had a 3rd degree tear, I'm ok about trying for a natural birth again so far but may change my mind nearer the time as pushing gets closer! I have a consultant appt before my scan to discuss it.

Well I had a shit day - raced home from work to make it in time for 12 week scan at 3pm, only to forget my notes and they refused to scan me Apparently there is key information in my notes which they need to know that clearly I couldn't just tell her as I did the booking in form myself so have to go back on Monday afternoon now. So annoyed with myself as now stuck in limbo over the weekend.

Pumpkin know what you mean about the feeling of not wanting to jinx stuff, as hoping to buy some new maternity stuff as my fat tummy is starting to feel a bit squished.

Oh how annoying choc I hope you have a nice weekend to take your mind off it x
