That's really interesting blackholes thanks Smile One thing I will learn this time is to take what MW and HV say with a pinch of salt and do my own research etc!

WillSantaComeAgain · 31/05/2013 22:01

If all goes well there will be a 3 yr age gap (possibly to the day!) which is much longer then I wanted. It's crazy but I know I will still get jealous of people and their perfect 18 mth to 2 year gaps, because that is what I wanted so much. There's big gaps between all my siblings (3,3,5) and I hated it (and we are not close at all now - the gaps still feel huge!)

Oh. How I'd love an efficient feeder next time. I had one good boob and one shit one that would take ages! Maybe it will learn from its sister? Weirdly my nipples have grown and got darker this time, when they didn't at all last time, even when feeding.

BumpKitty · 31/05/2013 22:28

Yes santa I wanted a smaller gap too but I didn't get my periods back till DD was about 19 months so it would have been impossible anyway. I stopped BF when I was 6 weeks pg with my mc pg, I mc at 12 weeks but the sac measured 6 weks so I do wonder if it was anything to do with the hormone change from stopping BF. probably just coincidence.

jmf294 · 31/05/2013 22:30

Pentagon- I have a 2 year 9 month gap between my son and daughter and I thought it was perfect.
He was old enough to sit and play and watch DVDs whilst I fed her. Now they are 5(almost 6) and 3 and get on so well most of the time!!
She is just so loving to him when he has to have all his diabetes care, holding his hand for needles etc.

There will be 3 1/2 years gap this time.

My daughter was a cluster feeder in the evening so every night I had to sit and feed her from 7pm to 12pm until she went down. If I tried to stop her she would wake and cry.
It lasted 4-5 months but at the time it seemed forever, but I just went with it and it was ok. Husband was in afghan then, but has since left the army, so if this one is a cluster feeder at least I'll have company.

Finally told my family the news- or I should say my son did. He blurted out to my mum before I could tell her- mummy had a baby in her tummy and she went and got a picture of it!! Mum was happy about the news.

Black holes- I like your way of thinking about life, I'm not often anxious but the whole scan and harmony test thing just blew my mind over the past week. Feel much better now.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Bodicea · 01/06/2013 09:50

Hello guys off to the lakes for our one year anniversary today. It's been a tough year with two miscarriages, my parents splitting up in a very acromonius way and my husbands boss breaking his back and putting the small business he works for in jeapordy but throughout all of it our relationship has only got stronger. Most people say they can't believe it has been a year but feels like the longest year of my life. Things are hopefully looking up now and despite everything I know what a lucky girl I am. I love him to bits. Sorry to gush.

IBelieveInPink · 01/06/2013 10:25

Aww happy anniversary Bod! Hope you have a lovely day celebrating, it's good to take the time out to remember these things :D x

jmf I'm having a hormonal day I just welled up reading about your lovely children and I'm in awe of you coping on our own while your husband was away, DH couldn't help that much with my DD as all she wanted was the boob but it did help having him there, i bet you're very please you have your DH with you for his one :) and vey cute way of telling your mum!

Right, I'm off to a 2 year olds birthday party, see yas xxxx

pumpkinsweetie · 01/06/2013 10:59

Happy Anniversary Bod Thanks
Sounds like a lovely day, you are going to have, jealous muchEnvy

Less than 2 weeks until my scan, getting nervous! Full of postitivity though as i have been getting massive headaches, so hormones must be good!

Bodicea · 01/06/2013 11:10

Bump I know it's a bit indulgent and still haven't unpacked properly from last hol but couldn't let our anniversary pass without doing something special. Just going for one night We are staying in the hotel we stayed in last year when I found out I was pregnant with our first pregnancy. Seems a world away now. Not sure if that's going to feel a bit weird! But it's a gorgeous hotel on ulswater where they invented sticky toffy pudding looking forward to replacing it with new memories x

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 01/06/2013 12:33

Happy anniversary bod!! Sounds like the perfect treat after the year you've had! Hope you have some sticky toffee pudding mmmm might have to get done myself now!! Enjoy xxx

DIYandEatCake · 01/06/2013 14:45

Hello again everyone, on way back from holiday now and just catching up on all the news (no 3G signal where we were). Congratulations on your anniversary bod, hope you have a wonderful time.

12 week scan (well, will be nearly 13) is on Wednesday afternoon this week, trying not to think about it til then but having the odd little panic about what they might/might not find.

We'll have a 2yr 9mth gap between dd and this one too, the one I miscarried would have been a 2yr 3mth gap which is what I thought I wanted but actually I'm glad dd will be a bit older.

jmf294 · 01/06/2013 17:50

Happy anniversary Bod!! Enjoy the hotel and sticky toffee pud- yummy!!
Really hope your year ahead will be blessed with much happier times for you xx

BlackholesAndRevelations · 01/06/2013 18:21

Happy anniversary mr and mrs bod! You really deserve to have a wonderful time! X

Pentagon · 01/06/2013 19:51

Thanks for letting me know jmf! I hope mine get on as well as yours - what a lovely relationship! Glad to hear you mum was happy about the news (I remember you saying she wasn't very supportive when you had the miscarriage and therefore you weren't looking forward to telling her)

Happy anniversary bod and congratulations! Sounds like you had a really tough year but happier times are ahead! Wishing you all the best for the second year of your marriage! Enjoy Ullswater! xx

BlackholesAndRevelations · 01/06/2013 21:52

Oh my god. Just watched yesterday's Eastenders and then the performance by "attraction" from Britain's got talent (posted by a friend on Facebook) and now am a sobbing, snotty mess! Does anyone watch Eastenders? I feel so sorry for Lauren. And that attraction shadow theatre is so amazing and so moving!

IBelieveInPink · 01/06/2013 22:02

Haven't seen that yet Blackholes. Is on record though so will get to it!!

So.... I totally got kicked today. I leapt out of my seat it made me jump so much! Ha... Anterior placenta or not, that definitely wasn't wind!!

DIYandEatCake · 01/06/2013 23:30

Aw pink that's wonderful. One of the best feelings in the world. I so hope this pg works out for me too so I get to feel a wriggly baby in there again (this might sound weird but I almost missed the feeling after dd was born).
blackholes I saw Attraction's first audition and that made me cry.

Mummytothearkbuilder · 02/06/2013 04:28

Hi ladies, hope you are all okay!!

Happy anniversary bod - hope you are having a lovely time away!!

Pink - fab news - I loved feeling my DS kicking, only we will feel every kick baby makes - it made me feel like it was a special bond we had all be it an uncomfortable one at times!!

Regarding age gaps - I have a huge one!! DS will be 4yrs and 8months when this one is due!! I did want a smaller gap but other factors plus the miscarriage meant it wasn't to be. We were never going to have a small gap as we couldn't afford 2 sets of nursery feels so always knew it would be at least a 3 year gap but it just didn't happen. I'm hoping that DS will be able to understand more about the baby and really get excited - fingers crossed!!

Less than one week until my re-scan. No bleeding or cramping so I am hoping that's a good sign. Fingers crossed for a little heartbeat on Friday! Xxx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 02/06/2013 16:37

eek pink that's so exciting!!! i've no kids yet so can't imagine what it must feel like! if only you could bottle all the little positive moments :)

nothing much happening here, just trying on holiday clothes for heading off next week, glad i bought some new linen trousers as my ones from last year defo won't do! my mum is being really sweet, rang me especially today to let me know she's been doing some research online and apparently new look do some really nice maternity stuff! didn't have the heart to tell her i'd trawled through the website a hundred times already!

andadietcoke · 02/06/2013 20:53

mummy hope it goes quickly!

pink that's lovely. I'm much (much) calmer since I started feeling regular movement after my 20w scan. One of my favourite pastimes at the moment is lying down and waiting for them to start wriggling. Have just had to accept I have no idea whether it's one or both!

IBelieveInPink · 02/06/2013 21:52

Aw diet that's cute! This is not regular enough for me to be calm yet. It is one or two little taps a day (apart from the boot yesterday!) for some reason today I have been really stressing again. I have no idea why. I think maybe because we have started planning and getting excited now, my instinct is to freak out and panic again. Wish I could just enjoy it more, but I guess we all know how that feels!

Bodicea · 03/06/2013 08:55

Pink that's awsome. So early! I have been looking out for kicks as hae posterior placenta but nothing yet. Had my hand on belly last night and thought I felt something until I realised it was my pulse I was feeling! Doh

janie have you looked on asos for maternity. They have got lots of nice summery dresses that look a bit younger and less mumsy than some of the other maternity sites. I have got a couple of t shirts from there which are nice.I have also ordered some linen trousers from jojomamanbebe but not arrived yet. I am getting to the size where I am embracing my bump and showin it off rather than hiding it which feels so much better.

Had a lovely weekend in the lakes his weekend although overdid it a bit with a 10 mile walk with pub inbetween. Conked out when I got home.

shellsocks · 03/06/2013 09:32

Happy belated anniversary bod sounds like you had a lovely time Smile

Ah pink that's brill, made up for you Grin

gary I started a thread abt that pram if you are interested....it's in the pushchairs section.

Off to MW now for 16w (17 tho?!) check....hoping to get to hear the HB Smile

Pentagon · 03/06/2013 10:45

It's lovely being able to feel the baby move! DIY I also missed this feeling after DD was born (by the way, it looks like we will have the same age gap between children) pink don't worry, it will only get stronger and more frequent from now on. I started feeling something when I was 15 and a half weeks but I wasn't 100% sure it was the baby (it was only 2-3 times a day and very faint...some days it was barely noticeable). But I'm more confident this is the case now, it has become a lot more evident in the past week (I'm 18 and a half weeks now so since 17 and a half) - so reassuring especially after not listening to the heartbeat at my 16-week midwife appointment, which totally freaked me out.

bod 10 mile walk?!?! No wonder you were knackered afterwards!
