Morning all,

Keeping my fingers crossed for you lucky and for everyone else.

Hoping this week is better than last, otherwise I think we might have to start a new thread on account of the fact that this one may be jinxed.

So, hopefully starting in the right spirit and bringing some posifrickitivity to the group, but I had a reassurance scan this morning (£70) and all was absolutely spot on. Healthy heart beat, a blob that the sonographer assured me was a baby (looked like a blob to me) that measured bang on for dates (9+1). Really hoping that I can start relaxing a bit now - obviously nervous about the harmony test in 3 weeks (wonder how they will calculate it for me, given that I'm going to turn 35 the day I hit 12 weeks?) but I'm now so much further along than the previous two, and the stats are right down there with second trimester losses now (less than 1% after a heartbeat seen at 9 weeks).

My exercise life has fallen off a cliff due to tiredness and a complete lack of motivation - I was really active before, but I've never really enjoyed exercise, so any excuse to give it up... having said that, I'm going to try to get back into it this week.

My sex life on the other hand has gone mental Blush. Its as bad as rape week at home at the moment, partly me and partly DH. I have NO idea what's got into him - at least I can blame hormones. Poor thing though, he's all happy about the giant jordanesque norks that are reappearing (literally growing out of bras within a day - up 2 cup sizes within the past week, and think I've got another 2 to go) - but they're so sore, he's not allowed to touch them Grin.

So, old wives tales - putting on lots of weight = a boy??? I'm putting on a pound a week, am horny as a hell, my skin is really bad and I'm far less nauseous than with DD.

andadietcoke · 28/05/2013 10:59

santa yay! Congratulations. Brilliant news Grin

Re the NT test - they go off maternal age at term I think. So it shouldn't matter about your birthday at 12w.

IBelieveInPink · 28/05/2013 11:04

Fab news Santa. So pleased to hear it. Yeah those statistics help a lot don't they :)
Ooh, perhaps a boy! I'm dying to know. My friend has just found out she is having a boy, and my other friend has just had a girl. Can't wait to know!!

Mummytothearkbuilder · 28/05/2013 11:06

Great news Santa x

Pentagon · 28/05/2013 11:11

Lucky I hope all's OK!

Santa great news about the scan!

ibip I have an anterior placenta too and if I remember well it was the same with DD. Felt movement with her at around 17 weeks but wasn't too obvious or constant till beginning of 19 (which is when I started feeling confident that it was the baby). With this one I think I started feeling something at around 15 weeks - 17 now and still not constant/too obvious.

jmf I would call them. They're likely to have the results by now (I think most of the time they receive them after about 10 days). Good luck!

No exercise for me, I'm waiting for my 20-week scan and if everything is OK I'll take up something mild like pregnancy yoga which is what I did with DD as well.

Sex drive has increased compared to my last pregnancy but maybe it has to do with me not being totally terrified this time (after the 1st trimester of course).

I don't believe any of the boy/girl old wives tales! I've heard and seen so many contradictory instances of boy/girl pregnancies, I only trust the scan :-)

shellsocks · 28/05/2013 11:18

That's brilliant santa Grinobviously more for you but we all need that lift I think Smile

pink no I don't but as anda said I felt DS very early so not surprising we're not feeling anything yet, just wishful thinking!!

LuckySocks13 · 28/05/2013 11:46

Hi all,
I have a scan at 1.40pm. Feel so sick with worry and nerves. I had to go into work for a bit this morning as couldn't let this family down again. I'm sat waiting to go now and feel so alone :( Will take me an hour to drive there and park so will leave about 12.30pm. This is so horrid.

Pentagon · 28/05/2013 11:51

good luck lucky! I know, waiting for a scan is nerve-racking! Cyber hug. x

Vixjane · 28/05/2013 12:53

great news santa so reassuring to see the scan pics.

Good luck and fingers crossed for yours this afternoon lucky!! we'll be waiting for your update.

jmf prob best just to ring and find out if the results are back. I'm sure they'll understand you're anxious to know the results.

DH and I are going swimming tomorrow - first exercise i've done since bfp!

BumpKitty · 28/05/2013 12:58

Good luck lucky I have everything crossed for you xx

Ace news santa looks like you're going to be having a baby Grin

jmf have you called yet! X

GaryBuseysTeeth · 28/05/2013 13:03

Good luck lucky!!

Congrats Santa on your blob! I put on far more weight than is recommended (lose it all quickly!) and this will be DS2 so I think more weight=boys is right (for me anyhoo).
Very jealous of everyone having sex, my hips are terrible (I can't even sit cross legged on the floor atm) so there's not any action here atm.

JMF, good luck if you choose to call them today, hope they have the results.

Shell, with the buggy you buy a rearseat adaptor so both seats can be used from 6months+.
It's also lighter than most other doubles on the market....had fun in Kiddicare trying to lift some of the buggies they had!

Woman here who has given birth after 19MC, she must be on Cloud 9 atm (and I had a little happy, hormonal, cry for her)!

Hope everyone has a good week, weather is meh!

jmf294 · 28/05/2013 13:16

Well I called and their IT system is down so no results- they said to try late this afternoon. It only took 10 attempts to get through.

Great news Santa.
Thoughts with you Lucky- hope you have good news to report later,

On another matter- I have a rare week off work this week and am at home with the children. My son is driving me mad- his latest thing was to delete all the educational games from the iPad as they are boring. Between that and fighting with his sister- I need to escape!!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 28/05/2013 15:46

Congrats Santa! Grin

Thinking of you, lucky- hope all is ok Flowers

stitchinline · 28/05/2013 15:56

Santa Great scan news Santa Grin

Lucky Thinking of you - hope you have good news to report later

JMF Same goes - hope you get some reassurance soon.

Was very sad to see the news last week, thinking of you baking, aoife and zeux.

Went on saturday to the epu as was just not feeling right and saw a little bean with a hb measuring 8+3 which is spot on for my dates (using my longest cylcle length of 35 days). Now I feel like I've jinxed it as then went ahead and did a massive shop at kiddicare Confused
(we are moving OS and have been told to stock up before we go). Not planning to get a double but bought a board for dd and a new carrier.

I didn't feel dd til about 22 weeks, going to be a long wait and lots of frantic dopplering if this one takes that long!

Have my booking in appointment on sunday - yes sunday Hmm

Am pretty sure that i'll go to fmc for my nt scan like I did last time but will wait to see what they say on sunday.

LuckySocks13 · 28/05/2013 16:00

Scan showed one live and active baby at 14.3 days. So happy that baby is alive and seems ok. Can't find any reason for bleed although I did have another among of spotting after the scan! Dislike! Just been advised not to over do things and rest when I can. X

GaryBuseysTeeth · 28/05/2013 16:05

Lucky, hurrah for your scan news! Grrh that there doesn't seem to be a reason AND it happened after scan, nothing like being able to relax Hmm

stitch, hurrah for your scan too, and a big kiddicare shop Sunday apt?!

JMF, hope you had more luck getting through & that their IT systems were back up.

Just introduced DS to drawing with marker pens, he only tried to eat a pen once! Then tried to feed me the pen but at least we've got a nice scribble to give to DH on Fathers Day!

pumpkinsweetie · 28/05/2013 16:14

Lucky Smile so happy to hear everything is well Smile

stitch congrats on your scan too.

Nice to see such lovely news, roll on postitifrinctivity!!
Got my scan for the 13th-unlucky date i know, luckily it falls on a friday, phew!

My sex drive is zilch and i never fancy hows your father unless dh initates itGrin, don't think he's impressed!

Gone off bbq food, dh did a barbi yesterday and it made me heave, couldn't eat a morsel of it! Can only seem to eat bread, everything else makes me feel ill, downing dinner is always a struggle!

10 weeks tomorrow, trying to relax as much as i can without worry.

LuckySocks13 · 28/05/2013 16:25

Hurrah indeed for lucky scan news! Long may it continue. Ive jist eaten mu body weight in chocolate to celebrate! 13 is my lucky number :) Marker pen fun sounds great Gary. Very organised making Father's Day card!

GardenWorm · 28/05/2013 16:29

Great scan news Santa and Lucky, glad we are back on the POSIFRICKINTIVITY track!

IBelieveInPink · 28/05/2013 16:29

Oh lucky I'm so pleased! Yaay!

Just had my 16 week appointment (at 15+2). It was very unexciting. She didn't even listen to heartbeat. So I may have played with the doppler when I got home. I know why I have just grown a bump now, baby had moved up! Going to be hard to hide it at work now, might have to share the news before someone outs me by spotting the football I am smuggling!

Vixjane · 28/05/2013 16:43

yay for scans for lucky and stitch!!

jmf hope you get your results soon. have you rung back?

Every month there is a staff project meeting...my Deputy Director only announced i'm leaving (i haven't handed my notice in yet!), they've found a replacement (as they were interviewing for another post) and the new job has nothing to do with my 'other news'. so yeah...cats pretty much out of the bag on both job and baby fronts...thanks for that deputy director...not! Shock

Pentagon · 28/05/2013 17:07

congratulations lucky and stitch!

jmf I hope you've rung the FMC back, had some good news and can now enjoy your week off work (I'm jealous)

ibip unless you listen to the heartbeat, midwife appointments are pretty unexciting indeed! But at least you have a doppler!

Vix sorry to hear the way it was announced at work- I bet you're pissed off.

Gary very organised indeed! I don't even know when Father's Day is this year...

jmf294 · 28/05/2013 18:16

I called back but no news until the appointment on Thursday- I was convinced that's because it's bad news and they don't want to tell me over the phone!! Hate the wait but I need to chill out.

Vix- that was rubbish of your director. Do you intend to go back to work after mat leave?
IBIP- hurrah for growing bumps!!

Mummytothearkbuilder · 28/05/2013 18:21

Fab news lucky and stitch!!

Vix - that is so bad!! I would be über pissed off!! Xx

Vixjane · 28/05/2013 18:31

Yep really pissed off! I am planning om going back to work after mat leave but it will be to my new job.my deputy director has asked today if i'm not going to hand my notice in till i receive a contract (which ive already told her is what i'm waiting for!) and she said oh good we can keep you longer then! Not doing them any favours, as soon as i have the info in writing i'll give them 4weeks and thats it!

jmf i think they would have rang you if bad news. Thats what they tend to do with nhs so hopefully no news is good news!
