You will all be pleased to know I have had a bath Grin and ds has been napping in his cot for forty minutes Smile

V thinks her basket is for night-time only, so refuses to nap in it!
She's currently napping in the pushchair in the kitchen to the sound of the washing machine and DP baking bread! (equals massive amounts of swearing on his part Grin)

BonaDea · 13/04/2013 11:16

DH just took then t-bear and let me have a nap. 90 minutes of me being totally zonked!! I do usually catch a nap in the afternoon but usually with lo asleep on me so it is never really that restful!

Oops - not sure what happened there, sorry!

BonaDea · 15/04/2013 02:13

Is everyone still alive?

Puds - are you home?
Hoping - how are you feeling ?
Everyone else/. ???

SpottyTeacakes · 15/04/2013 02:54

I've got another blocked duct and ds is feeding every 2.5 hours tonight...

OP posts:
BonaDea · 15/04/2013 05:55

Ouch spotty. Sounds miserable. What do you have to do to unblock the duct, do you just sort to of massage through as he's drinking?

mylittlepuds · 15/04/2013 06:09

Ha!!! You can tell we've got babies at the time these posts are written!!!

Thanks for asking after me Bona!

Yes home safe and sound and deliriously happy - it's starting to totally freak me out!!! Feel like I've gone to heaven. Totally different experience than DS1 as at this point I'd been back into hospital with severe anxiety. One day at a time though. It's early days.

Feeding going really well. She's going three and a half hours which through the night is amazing - DS never went that long but we were told by a few MWs to wake him every three for a feed. Crazy but we complied and I'd set an alarm!!!

My boobs are horrendously engorged - any tips anyone? I also have the start of a urine infection...

How are you Bona and everyone else?

SpottyTeacakes · 15/04/2013 07:00

Well he doesn't like it if I massage it when he's feeding so I do it after each feed and in the bath until I cry....

Puds not sure you can do much but wait for them to settle down? If you express or anything it's just going to make it worse in the long run.

I got proper giggles from ds last night Smile

Still here, kids back to school/ preschool today so I'm hoping to get some stuff organised before picking DS up at lunchtime.

I'm incredibly uncomfortable, SPD has kicked in big time so I have to do everything at a snail's pace. But I'm over 33 weeks now, only a month to go...

dieciocho · 15/04/2013 08:02

Poor you rue, I didn't have it, but saw someone with it trying to walk - did not look fun.

Get that UTI sorted puds - I still have the 1 I got from cathater in hospital when V was born - outrageous, nothing is shifting it.

How lovely spotty! We got a giant noisy poo which woke everyone last night and I' m still awake... Working later though.

BonaDea · 15/04/2013 08:02

Puds - you might just want to feed a little bit more often til they go down! I think mine only stayed engorged a day or so in the end?

Spotty - he might not like it but I'm
Pretty sure massaging while he drinks is the fastest / best way to go. Think otherwise the milk you are trying to shift has nowhere to go (that's what lactation lady told me anyway).

Rue - poor you. I didn't have spd but I did find the last few weeks pretty miserable just with being huge and uncomfortable.

A girl from my nCT class had a 9lb 9oz baby the other day. Almost 2 pounds heavier than DS. Don't see them yanking her son out two weeks early by Caesar do you?

We're doing much better. Something is working on the thrush front whatever it is and the pain is significantly improved. Wouldn't say I'm pain free but it is definitely much more manageable. Have been able to stop taking co codamol!! Grin

BonaDea · 15/04/2013 08:03

P.s Diec- good luck for work later. Eeek!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/04/2013 09:21

Thing is bone he unlatches so it just makes it worse. I will massage before a feed and hope that works.

OP posts:
dieciocho · 15/04/2013 10:05

So glad things are improving bona and thanks. Smile

mylittlepuds · 15/04/2013 22:07

Thanks for advice everyone! Been to GP with self diagnosed UTI today Grin he did as he was told and gave me anti bis!

Boobs still really bloody hurt! The little madam only wants what she wants Bona. Argh!

How are you Hoping? Thinking of you. Are you having a lot of 'what if' thoughts? Ie 'what if I don't love DD enough' 'what if I can't cope when DH away' etc? I've really found it sooo helpful to discount any thought starting with 'what if' as baloney as it's nothing but anxiety. I might be totally barking up the wrong tree but hope that helps! Flowers

BonaDea · 15/04/2013 23:28

Good news puds. Those should sort you out! Hope the boobs settle down soon too!

Now, I know I'm only on my high horse about this because of recent experience, but be vigilant about thrush as you're on anti biotics! Apparently they are most likely reason t and I have ended up with thrush and this is common when bf'ing women get antibiotics.

mylittlepuds · 15/04/2013 23:35

Oh God well I've already bloody got thrush so combine that with anti bis, diabetes and bfing I'm in for a whale of a time - ha ha! Have got the one tablet treatment and cream today so will try get on top of it before it goes bezerk! Thanks Bona Grin

BonaDea · 15/04/2013 23:49

One tablet treatment!? Is this nipple thrush or down below?! The course I'm on is 10 days so wish someone had told me if there was a one time option?

I have barely thought about diabetes. Have had a few hypos but just taking a lot less levemir and novo and so far so good. Am enjoying having things like (today) a dirty great prawn baguette for lunch and chocolate without dreading the readings! Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 15/04/2013 23:58

Ds went down at 7 first feed at 9 second at 10:40 and he will not go back to sleep....

Sorry about the thrush puds you still sound chipper though Grin

OP posts:
mylittlepuds · 16/04/2013 02:57

No don't worry Bona - down below thrush! The glamour...

Oh God me too re. the diabetic naughtiness. It's bliss! Going to reign it in a tad soon, but not too much. I had a ham and cheese ciabatta today. 'Normal' people just don't realise!

Oh Spotty I am! My 'problem' now is I'm so happy that I'm not used to feeling this way and worrying something will come along to take it away!

dieciocho · 16/04/2013 07:02

Sorry about the thrush/UTI combo puds, when I'm on anti-biotics for UTI, I take Optibac - it balances the nice bacteria - which really seems to work. Not prescription though, so costs about a fiver.

First day back at work - urgh, feeling poo-ey today. I ran myself highish (11) in order to express with energy leftover and not to have a hypo in front of my class, but of course it comes back round the haunt you and you feel washed out later on.
I didn't manage to express my normal 100ml, only got 80ml or so.

Annoyingly, after many good days of proper feeds, V spent all of yesterday eating snacks at 90 minute intervals, so a nap before work was out of the question. She had frothy nappies, so I think she was getting lots of fore milk, but falling asleep before the hind milk.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/04/2013 07:10

Sounds like a growth spurt diec? I manage to express most when I've skipped a feed from one side. Otherwise I hope work went ok?

OP posts:
dieciocho · 16/04/2013 08:33

Yeah, was thinking the same spotty. Work was ok, but going upped my anxiety level massively! My nightmares and semi-conscious sleep talking are freaking me out Confused
