A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

Aw thanks ladies. Shell, thank you for taking the time to answer. Hope you are having a lovely time at the wedding!
Diet coke, you have just described exactly how I have been. I feel a little better knowing I am not the only one. And seeig how well it is going for you now (fingers crossed for scan on Tuesday too) gives me hope. Thank you again for taking the time to try and chill me out!

BumpKitty · 23/03/2013 18:54

Hey all jbrd I'm west midlands , are you?
ibip sorry you're having such a worrying time, if the pain doesn't stop you could call the epu and describe it to them. I remember when I was 16 wks with DD and walked too fast to get back for the car park and I had this pinging sensation in my womb like an elastic band had snapped it was such a horrid feeling but was apparently round ligament pain - so if any of you feel like you have snapped something that is normal!

Lucky13ForBaby · 23/03/2013 19:42

Hi all, I found you all today and have been lurking. Shall continue to lurk a little longer but just wanted to say to pink that I have had days of low down pain on the left side. Today mine has gone so now panicking about that!

Lucky13ForBaby · 23/03/2013 20:10

I'm also another West Midlander !

Bodicea · 23/03/2013 20:31

Hi I ibip yeah it could be corpus lutem or a slightly larger cyst like people said or your uterus is tilted to the left and just stretching (mine tilts to the left). However if the pain gets any worse I suggest you give epau/ gynae ward a call. They might suggest a scan to rule out an ectopic pregnancy - v unlikely by the way - especially if you are not having any bleeding.

GardenWorm · 23/03/2013 20:33

Waves to all and hopes Bods husband has been forgiven for his useless drunken stabbing that is one lose lose situation he was in Grin

IBIP from your description and my experiences with DC and mc I also think it sounds like what the others have said; the uterus stretching. Totally understand you getting so upset about it, it's flippin stressful this preggers malarky!

Hello lurking Lucky glad you are here Smile

IBelieveInPink · 23/03/2013 21:09

Aw thanks everyone. What would I do without you all! Honestly I don't know how I'm gonna get through the next few weeks!
I have kinda got to the stage of assuming the worst. Which if it does end up working out will make it a much happier surprise!
We have lots on over the next week which will help time pass. Although will not be helpful if things have gone wrong and all start happening! Argh!

I just keep thinking, all those years of desperately trying NOT to get pregnant!!!! Wow.

AlmondFrangipani · 23/03/2013 21:19

Hi IBIP

I had exactly the same for the first few weeks. It was mostly on the left side too and I was convinced the bleeding would start soon after. I got so wound up I went to the doctors and they sent me for an early scan at 6.5 weeks. Nothing bad showed up on the scan but I continued to have the pain right up to 12 weeks although it subsided. I had to book a private scan at 12 weeks ish as the NHS couldn't do the Downs test as the baby was in an odd position and they ran out of time. We really wanted to know so I had one at a private hospital and a Consultant Gynaecologist did the scan. I mentioned it to him and he said it was more than likely the ovary where the egg had come from and it may have been a cyst. Again nothing showed up on the scan but he put my mind at ease saying it was very common.

I found the first trimester so hard. With the pain, worry, knicker checking, getting fat and the morning sickness!! It is much more enjoyable now...promise!!

andadietcoke · 23/03/2013 21:21

ibip that strategy has been quite successful for me so far!! Try and stay away from google. I've decided that knowledge is not power, and I just get myself worked up. Today I've decided that something has happened to one or both of them because my bump went a bit flabby. At least I have a scan on Tuesday, so if something has happened I won't have to wait for 20w scan to find out.

Bodicea · 23/03/2013 22:48

Just had a quick peak at the November 2013 thread. Wow it's big. Think I want to stay over here where it's nice and safe and comfortable and there are lots of people in the same position as me. Can we keep our little club going here through to the end ? X

IBelieveInPink · 23/03/2013 23:16

Please yes! I can't handle that many people! :)

GardenWorm · 24/03/2013 06:17

I'm in Smile

shellshock7 · 24/03/2013 10:50

It hadn't entered my head to join a different thread Smile

How are you today pink?

IBelieveInPink · 24/03/2013 11:29

Hey shell. Am okay. Cramps have stopped. Then had a panic because not only did they stop, everything else did too. I just don't 'feel' pregnant any more. To be honest I am assuming the worst, but I have no 'real' reason to suspect that at the moment, I.e no massive pain or bleeding. I think it is just a case of waiting for time to pass!

How are you? How is mini shell doing now, is he all better?

JanieLovesCake · 24/03/2013 16:54

Hi girls! Well I'm back from the hen weekend! The WW wine trick was frickin awesome (thanks again to me pink!), totally saved the day!! So tired now though zzzzzzz

I'm totally staying in this thread, too many people on the November one!

Pink I have had that exact pain. Your bowel is in the lower left abdomen so I'm hoping its because of it being a little 'blocked up'. I've had moments of really needing to get to the loo immediately but also slightly constipated on other days. When I asked the doc last time she said it was probably hormones causing bowel to be a bit up the left. Hope it goes away soon, it's really uncomfortable not to mention worrying xx

shellshock7 · 24/03/2013 20:02

Thanks for asking pink DS is better we just have to build his appetite back up now, get his weight back on.

janie I had a wedding yesterday and it was tough! Think I got away with it, we'll no one asked me so that will do Grin

I never really had MS with DS, I had nausea which went if I ate but this is different, not being sick but feeling like it all day and so tired! Defo know I am PG Grin

GaryBuseysTeeth · 24/03/2013 20:02

Welcome Higg, sorry to hear about your loss.

Awesome Janie...and well done MrPink!
I look through all the antenatal threads, and I can't believe how massive the Sept+ one's are.
I guess (hope) things are starting to look up for people financially so it means more babies?

Pink, glad the cramps have stopped.
I'm 20wks today & if it wasn't for the belly or movements I wouldn't know I was pregnant, so keeping everything crossed for you.

dietcoke, hope you're feeling better by the time you read this...and good luck for your scan on Tuesday.

garden, shell, congrats on the 3+!

Brie, good to hear from you, can't believe you're 22wks already!

20wks+1 (looking forward to getting past 26wks), scan on Weds, hoping to find out the sex...but hoping for everything to be healthy & perfect with it more, next two days will drag for me!

JBrd · 24/03/2013 21:14

Bumpkitty No, I'm in Cambridgeshire, but we do have a Morrisons here!

Pink Hope you're feeling a bit better! If it's any consolation, I don't feel pregnant either! I poas again this morning, my last FR test - all good Smile. I think it's such a shame that we can't really enjoy pregnancy anymore, like you should... When I was pregnant with DS, I worried a lot until my 12-week scan, but nothing compared to what it's like now that it actually happened to me.

Ladies, those of you that are further along - does the worry stop/get better? Do you ever get to enjoy a pregnancy after a miscarriage...?

I'm 5 weeks today - only 35 more to go....Argh! Today was a wash-out day, I have been so incredibly tired. Not sure if it's pg related or the aftermath of my job interview on Friday and all the stress that led up to it. All I wanted to do is sleep! DS was very good, entertaining himself while I zonked out on the sofa. And when he went for his nap, I did the same - he slept for 3 hours, I did 2 1/2! Still very tired, though, it'll be an early night for me!

BumpKitty · 24/03/2013 22:15

Good luck for the scans anda and gary , I can't believe you are 20 weeks gary I remember your BFP Grin

Janie and shell well done on the event attending Grin I went to a first birthday party today and was handed a glass of cava, i did a pretend swig which nearly choked me then secretly tipped the rest down the sink :) I am the model of discretion!

Is anyone else mega hungry? I went out for dinner last night with some friends and I woofed my dinner up in about 3 minutes, I only noticed when I looked up and everyone else's plates were still full Blush also having slight nausea but that may be from the amount of crap I ate over my holiday :)

JBrd I'm right with you on the naps, we had a family sleep from 3pm - 5.30pm :) it was lovely.

shellshock7 · 25/03/2013 08:49

Hi everyone, how are you all feeling? Hope we can start the week positively!

I'm off to tell the doc this morning, not gonna push for an early scan but will see what he says Smile

Bodicea · 25/03/2013 08:50

Bump I am with you on the hungry. I inhaled an entire bag of mini eggs last night and that was after a big pub lunch. Plus not interested In excercise at mo. not a good combination. On holiday in may And know I am just gonna look podgy rather than pregnant

JBrd · 25/03/2013 08:58

Morning everyone, I agree with shell

Just waiting waiting waiting now, it's nerve-wrecking! My midwife hasn't even contacted me yet, and I wouldn't see anyone before 8 weeks anyway.
However, I do have an appointment with the consultant haematologist next Wednesday, to discuss my blood clotting issues... I suspect that I will have to start the heparin injections there and then - in fact I hope I do, as it'll be one less thing to worry about (I have a history of DVT/pulmonary embolism).

Also waiting to hear back from the company I had an interview with last week, I so hope they will offer me the job!

Bodicea · 25/03/2013 09:27

jbird my sympathies. I am on the clexane injectins and hating them. I think heparin is similar. Will have to have joint moaning. Got a massive lump under my skin from one that went wrong - think hit a blood vessel. Hope haematologist sorts you out x

JanieLovesCake · 25/03/2013 09:29

Morning all, I'm on for the positivity too:) although my throat feels like its been cut to shreds and my head feels like its been kicked around under water...pretty sure there's nothing I can take for it boohoo. I'm just waiting to jump on a flight to go visit my best friend and her new baby, I'm trying to prepare myself, I can guarantee some little tears of joy and fear!!!

Jbrd fx for good news re. the job! I have an interview on Wednesday when I get back, my head is in no place to prepare for it right now so I may well be wasting my time and theirs!! I've been in my job for neat 11 years and we get paid weekly by cheque, one girl is still waiting on some maternity pay and her child just turned 3...hence the need to move on! I'd lose my house if I didn't get the money!

JBrd · 25/03/2013 09:54

Janie Oooh, I feel for you - having a sore throat when pg is awful because you can't take anything! I think I ate a whole jar of Manuka honey over a weekend when I was pg with DS and had this. Lots of hot drinks, and you can take paracetamol (although that's not too helpful with the sore throat, unfortunately).

Glad to see I'm not the only one aiming for a new job whilst being newly upduffed! But I need to get out of my current one, it's just no good staying here. The thought of having to come back to this would stress me to no end, not to mention the idea of having to stay for another 8 months. Ironically, money-wise I'd be better off, they have a very decent maternity package here at the university, but I just can't do it. Fortunately, DH is very supportive, always saying 'We'll manage' and 'It'll be alright' when I start to panick.

bodicea Yes, I'll also be on clexane. I don't mind the injections, but then I have quite a large area on my tummy which is still quite numb from my c-section 2 years ago, that makes the injections more bearable. I get spectacular bruises, though. But whatever helps!

Right, I better go and do some work...
