Hi Tabs - Many thanks for that. dd1's school's on an inset day today so I've organised a few of the mums to meet up at Whipsnade otherwise I'd join you at the drop of a hat. I'll keep an eye on the May dates though.

mygirllolipop · 28/04/2006 09:29

Welcome Chicks! Congrats.
Oinker - sweetie I'd be cross with you if you didn't say what was happening and how you feel because you don't have to feel that way on your own, we're here to help. I would imagine that the twin would stay in there and come out at the birth of your baby, but maybe not. I hope this bleed is nothing to worry about, and felt exactly the same with DD3 "why can't this be straight forward?"
Slink - great news about the head honcho saying you can have your homebirth really thrilled for you.
Got DD2 at home today she was sick in class yesterday, still got fever. Also anyone got handy hints on how to draw pus from her scab?

Wills · 28/04/2006 09:40

And there was me feeling queasy this morning! Wink.

Oinker - I agree with the others. This is what this thread is about. Even now at 36 + 5 I'm still nervous of it all going wrong. 9 months is a long long long time when you're nervous every day although once out of the first trimester you do start to relax a little. I also think you're show is likely to be the non-beating twin. As a word of warning there were days when I had no pregnancy symptons and then there were days when they were rife. I'm with you honey.

wools · 28/04/2006 09:47

Good Morning everyone. Congratulations Chickster and welcome. Sorry to hear about the bleeding Oinker but feel sure it must be the twin who didn't make it although understand your worries.
Twocats, I'm 16 weeks today and my symptoms are only just about gone. I thought I'd hit 13 weeks and everything would be okay...you will feel better soon.

petunia · 28/04/2006 10:22

Morning all,
I know I shouldn't really be posting here but I don't want to leave you!
Thanks for all the lovely messages yesterday.

I think the total amount of nights sleep I had was about an hour last night! Little one just wanted to feed all the time! Anyway, I think we've decided on the name Emily Rose. Emily because we like it and Rose because when I had the m/c last year, that's what I planted in the garden as a memorial.

Well, I won't say goodbye. I'll keep lurking to see how you all are, and who produces next! I'll write up all about the birth on the Birth Announcements and try and do a picture as well.

Take care everyone
Pet. xx

HellKat · 28/04/2006 10:24

Hello everyone - we've got the most beautiful sunny day here.

Petunia - don't go! Do keep popping in, it's the most brilliant reminder that we are all hanging on for a reason.

Wills - that's pretty much exactly what the midwives said to me this morning. And at least it's a reassurance that there's something going on..

HK - hope the physio works some magic on the SPD.

and hope everyone else is having fun (and no, I don't know how to draw pus from a scab, erk.)

mygirllolipop · 28/04/2006 11:54

Ooooh Pet off to check the Birth Announcements now, oh and don't you go anywhere!

chickster1981 · 28/04/2006 12:36

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww your all so nice thanks for welcoming me

Arabica · 28/04/2006 13:00

Look forward to chatting with you chickster.
I still feel anything could go wrong at any moment and I am now 26+2. Had midwife appt todaywhich I was getting stressed aboutbut luckily they had no problem finding a heartbeat. Learned that my elective c/s may be at 38wks instead of 39wks as I was originally told. That would mean I only have to wait until 19 July!
Whenever I have heartbeat checked or a scan, baby moves around like crazy for the rest of the day--it's brilliant.

oinker · 28/04/2006 13:48

Hello ladies,

Thanks again... I was on a bit of a downer last night. Tummy cramps were worrying me. There was no bleed with it though. I just had a glass of milk and went to bed and rubbed my belly with some lavender cream. It worked.

Feeling a lot better today. Have been for a nice walk with DH and dog.

I have contacted St Marys to cancel my appointment. I told them my situation but was advised not to cancel. That has got me a bit worried!! They also advised me that I should expect a little bleeding and some cramps. Most of the twin will be absorbed into my system so any symptoms/d/c should not resemble any m/c I have had.

DH is downstairs listening to 'Monty Python' sketches on a CD.... Soooooooooooooooo bloody annoying!!!!!!

I am going to check Petunia out then go and read in the garden.

Enjoy what little sunshine there is. Smile

oinker- glad you're feeling better today.

Sorry for the delay, but birth details are on the Birth Announcements now.

oinker · 28/04/2006 16:26

What a lovely afternoon......

Just done 60 pages of my book. My cheeks are nice and rosy. It works....reading takes my mind of things.
I would really love to go for a swim except they would probably close the pool if they saw me approach. I am covered in bruises and red blotches from the syringes. Grin
Never mind...Smile

Where is everyone today?

cori · 28/04/2006 16:33

I have just been for a long walk, keen to get things moving.
Went to yoga last night and bought a homeopathic kit for labour. Not really used homeopathy before, but am keen to try it. Have another session of acupuncture tomorrow and have plans for long walks for the weekend. Just hoping the weather stays warm.

slinkstah · 28/04/2006 16:43

oinker · 28/04/2006 16:45

I think i have had some twinges. Get that periody type feeling, but it goes away pretty quick. A few braxton hicks today, they seem to have slowed down a bit though.

HellKat · 29/04/2006 05:50

Morning all.
Oinker- Thank goodness you wont be having mc as such. I did wonder. Bet you feel happier too. I would be. I think I'd be paranoid mc that it would put the other twin at risk somehow iykwim. So glad you're feeling brighter. When's your milestone hun? Got to be coming up soon.

Hiya everyone!

Physio was fab! But it's not spd anymore. She says it was likely it was with ds2 but now it's progressed into "Pelvis laxticity" (sp). My pelvis is buggered lol. Years & years of horseriding loosened the front of the pelvis (where you get spd) and coupled with giving birth for the first time on my back, set me up for years of pain apparently. She says it's a huge no no for first time mums to birth this way. It tightens up the whole canal, making it smaller for baby & harder for mum and weakens the front pelvic area for furture pg's (makes you prone to spd). She wants to try & get mw's, dr's etc to start encouraging mums to be as active as poss in labour and deliver basically in any position other than lying on your back. Apparently on your side isn't too bad but best is anything kneeling, squatting, standing, on all fours etc.
So no more sitting cross legged for me, lying on my back, picking anything up, cleaning, hoovering, Shock basically I've got to rest it. But she knows I can't sit still for too long so said I can do the stuff that needs to be done, then rest lol. Best position for rest aswell (have to do this every night for a little while) is on all fours, leaning forward onto arms, head down, backside way up there lol. Looks hilarious but lifts babba out of the pelvis and apparently turns baby into the right position. Feels really good too! Girls you should try it Grin
Wow what an essay! Sorry all Blush
Have a wonderful day all. xxx

Wills · 29/04/2006 08:05

Morning HK. I agree that its a very comfortable position.

Am off to Ramsgate for the weekend. Hope everyone is well and I'll be back late monday. My best wishes to everyone.

HellKat · 29/04/2006 08:09

Have a great weekend Wills, hope the weather stays nice.

mygirllolipop · 29/04/2006 09:17

Oinker - glad you feel better honey we can't have you on a downer! I have also read somewhere (on MN I think) that you shouldn't go swimming when pg with previous MC's. It worried me as I had been swimming the week before I MC'd, but it could be a load of bull.
Wills -enjoy yr wkend.
Cori - hope a long walk/sex/curry/rasp leaf tea gets things moving for you!
Petunia - off to check BA now, hope you've managed to get piccys up.

oinker · 29/04/2006 09:46

Morning all,
Had the new baby check yesterday afternoon and Dr says little Emily is fine. Had a reasonable nights sleep, feeding about every 2 1/2 hours.
mygirl- sorry no pictures yet. I've got to e-mail some for relatives so will have a go later on.

Hope everyone else is well.
