cori · 27/04/2006 12:30

Yep, I am next in que. 1 week to go, then Wills then Diddle I think.

wools · 27/04/2006 12:59

Congratulations Petunia......Fabulous news. HOpe you manage to get some sleep.

mygirllolipop · 27/04/2006 13:31

yep, petunia first thru the tunnel, cori must feel weird to know that you will have your baby within the next fortnight! Has this made you excited?

slinkstah · 27/04/2006 14:11

ahhhhhhhhhhh! whooooooo! im so pleased petunia congratulations :) i hope all went well, can't wait for more details.
first birth on this thread ever!
im 5th in the birthing queue:)

slinkstah · 27/04/2006 14:28

also... i just came back from a talk about homebirth with the midwifes and they are going to talk to the consultant midwife about it (she's the boss apparently) so only her left to convince:) i should find out in a few days.
but also found out that if i transfer my care to these community midwifes they can come with me to hospital in labour and so i will know the midwife and won't get someone who i have never seen before:)

HellKat · 27/04/2006 15:38

Pet- Congratulations sweety to you & your family on your little girl!!!! How wonderful!
GrinGrinGrinGrin

I've got bloomin ages to to wait lol Wink Ho hum. Will be twiddling my fingers for the next x number of weeks.

But 20 wks today so going incredibly fast Grin

Wills · 27/04/2006 15:47

HK - congrats on 20 weeks.

Suspect I might be fourth not third given Diddle's BH's Grin. I DON'T want to be induced so am getting my head round the idea of 5 +3 instead of 40 weeks which is only 3 + 3 iyswim. Have spoken to my doctor as am going to the toilet every 40 minutes and through the night that means practically no sleep. She's put me on antibs - fingers crossed I get some sleep soon.

Slink - they have the same policy here re: community midwives going in etc. I had to ask the head honcho too but it does make things feel a lot better as at least you know the midwife you're gonna get.

Also anyone else found that care at this end is less than it used to be? I don't have a consultant's appointment and have to be more than 38 weeks before I start seeing my midwife weekly! At 38 + weeks it hardly seems worth bothering with!

Oinker it does feel like an enormously long time honey but we're here with you.

Hugs to all

FirstNikki · 27/04/2006 16:19

Congratulations Petunia Grin well done and best wishes to you and your family. xx

cori · 27/04/2006 16:24

yes I am excited, I am glad there is an end date in sight if i dont go into labour naturally. It doesnt feel completly real though, everything is ready but dont quite believe there will be a little bubs in the crib beside me in two weeks time.

Wills, My acupuncturist charges around £35.00 per session. Hold off though, I wil let you know if it works.

diddle · 27/04/2006 17:22

How exciting, lots going on today!!!

congrats petunia fbaulous news, you must be doing well if you're home already, well done.
Hope mines goes as well.

Still getting my BH, they're sapping my energy away. Saw the midwife today, she said i was normal and not to worry. My glucose level is a little higher than it should be, and may be a sign of gestational diabetes, but i did explain that i have been eating lots of chocolate easter eggs, i've been told to cut down Sad
I told her i was hoping for a waterbirth and asked if i went past my date could i still have one. she said if i was induced then i can't have one, and suggested i try on the raspberry leaf tea now and maybe some pineapple, not to bring on labour but to soften up the cervix and get it a little more active. Baby's head is not enagaged, and the constant rubbing on my bones is either its head or shoulders.
It went very well, for once i came out impressed that i wasn't rushed in and out, i saw a different midwife this time.
I am sipping away and my gross raspberry tea as we speak.

Oinker - I smell too still, especially when its hot outside, but i think we're all sweating more as we're pregnant and our bodies are working harder even if we're moving slower.
I am sure my house smells of dead chicken but nobody else can smell it, so i'm either imagining it, or there is a dead chicken under the floorboards and only i can smell it with my supersonic pregnant nose.

wow HK 20 wks already thats flown past. i'm 34 today and can't believe it, for some reason i fell like it could come any day now, hope it doesn't.

Slink - so glad you are finally getting somewhere, and that you are being offered the care you deserve.

HellKat · 27/04/2006 18:15

Thanks all.
Diddle- I know, it's gone so quickly!! Wow you have'nt got long to go now either. DOn't worry if you're lo made an appearance now. Ds2 was born 52 mins into the 34th week and he was nearly 5lbs lol Grin Only spent 13 days in special care as opposed to the 6 weeks he was meant to.

Have a great night all xxxxxxxxxxxx

slinkstah · 27/04/2006 18:38

hk- congrats on half way :) the 2nd half goes alot faster.
its great to hear babys at 34 weeks do great, i am 32 weeks today and am still counting the days- but will stop at 34 weeks and start (dare i say) enjoying the pregnancy

diddle- thats great you had a good appointment. congrats 34 weeks dids:)

petunia- hope your having a well deserved rest:)

breaking news... the boss midwife rang me and said she won't recommend homebirth for me but will be happy to support me. whooooooooo! thats a yesyesyes, i am being transfered to community midwife care next week.
so if baby turns and if i don't go overdue and if i don't go into labour straight away after the stitch removal and if nothing else bad happens then i will be at home in my nest and all my hippyshite:)

I have had another show tonight and have got slight tummy ache. Sad
I really hope it is only the blighted twin and nothing more. Sad

I really wish everything would just be normal.
Why does this shite have to happen to me. Nothing is straight forward. Sad

Sorry, was trying to stay positive but it's driving me mad. I phoned the m/c help line today to ask about blighted twin and what I should expect. She couldn't say. All she said was that generally the remaining twin would be fine.
I am going to phone the clinic at St Marys tom. to cancel my appointment and see if i can speak to someone there. Hopefully someone will be able to enlighten me.

No more moaning.

I promise. Smile

welcome chickster!

Oinker, all of the good vibes in somerset are still heading your way (albeit not down the A40). The tummyache may not be anything to worry about - I've had them all the way through so far, and am told that it's everything stretching. But every day I expect the worst - even though I know that when I had my m/c the cramps were about the last part of it to happen.

Slink- great news about your homebirth. You must be well pleased.

me, I still feel like warmed-over roadkill - and I am now at 13wks, so isn't it supposed to get better from now on? May ring the midwives tomorrow just in case they can do something - I was worrying about anaemia, but I'm on two Spatone a day...

slinkstah · 27/04/2006 22:03

oinker- moan away hun, you must be stressed. good idea to phone and find out if they can tell you what to expect. do you have another scan on tuesday?

chickster - hi and welcome :)

twocats- sorry your feeling so poo, can't be anemia with that much iron. 2nd semester will give you more energy im sure.

slinkstah · 27/04/2006 22:07

wow just looked at stats thread and realised we made it! chickser joined us today and is due in december and petunia was due in this month but had baby today so we got people due over a whole 9 months! (just)Grin

slinkstah · 27/04/2006 22:09

oooh oinker your due december too- well we defo made it then:)

Arabica · 27/04/2006 23:19

Congratulations to Petunia and welcome chicster. Bring all your anxieties here--we have!
oinker, I'm another one with on/off period-style pains, have had them all the way through. Sometimes they last for an hour or so.

HellKat · 28/04/2006 07:38

Morning all.
Welcome Chickster!
Oinker- Hunny you moan away! That's what this is here for. Sounds more like the twin tbh. Personally I think that's a good thing if you do mc it soon. Means there'll be more room etc for the remaining beanie. Hope it happens as quickly and painfree as possible hun.
Slink- Great news hun!!!!! You must be ecstatic! Yep definitely stop worrying once you get to 33 wks. He's technically an inbetweeny lol. Some staff considered him 33 wks some 34 because he was only a few mins into that 34th week. One of my mw's had her little girl at 33 & 1/2 wks and she was 4lb 14ozs to. They also say premmies are very sickly for the 1st year especially, but in ds2's case not at all. touch wood he's never even had a cold, nothing and he's 2. Ultra healthy boy.

Got my physio today Yippeeeeee so hoping it'll ease this crappy spd up.
Have a great day all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/04/2006 07:49

Hello ladies - long time no speak (it's Tabs here btw). Sorry to gatecrash, but wanted to grab Wills attention to let her know that we are having fairly regular meets in Hitchin if she wants to join us. Not sure if you checked the thread for the March meet up after your early post on it, but we did actually meet just after you had started your mat leave. We're meeting again today, and will shortly be organising another for sometime in May, so keep an eye on the meet up threads if you want to join us.

Hope all on this thread are well :)
