Sorry did not get back on last night caitlinsmummy, yes it was bad only found out i was pg about 5 days before miscarriage although nearly 8 weeks. were trying to be positive and think thier must have been somthing wrong with the baby, although i also wonder if because i had a realy bad cold, chest infection and eye infection (swollen shut with green muck) that i just had such a bad infection that my antibodies just fought all foriegn bodies including the babies.

i hope all goes well for you this time.

caitlinsmummy · 02/07/2006 11:11

hey lizziemun. Just logged in. That is terrible isnt it? I know exactly how you are feeling and am praying that the baby will be ok this time, so thanks for your kind wishes. xx

Morning all.
Slink- that's disgusting! Can't believe that hun.

Have'ny posted much here, been way too hot. Looks like today & Wednesday will the worst too! Only managed about 2 hrs last night, what with fidgeting, turning up fans, re-positioning them etc so plan on going back to bed later with a fan pointed at my bump .
Got the consultants tomorrow & really hoping they don't want to see me every week. Cannot be arsed with that huge walk every week (all hills going there).
Hope everyone's coping in this heat & those with babba's, hope their managing too.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Arabica · 03/07/2006 10:52

Welcome new girls, wishing you all the best for your pregnancy and ttc. I had an early scan because I was so stressed in the early weeks of my pregnancy and didn't want to wait until 12wks. It didn't really wear off though--I can see why some people buy their own dopplers to reassure themselves there's still a heartbeat.
Hi HK, I do hope you don't need weekly hospital visits, that would be such a pain in the arse. Slink, horrified to hear about the theft of your bag. I don't know what to say! Bastards.
Well, I have a big hosp appt this weds when I will be 36wks and am really stressed about it because this is the appt when they will do the final assessment of the baby's fluid levels and decide whether am allowed to go to 39wks or need to have my c/s earlier. They'll also have a think about whether the baby needs a shunt operation to relieve the pressure and help drain the fluid away--and if so when this is likely to be done.
I'm not feeling much movementjust enough to reassure me there is definitely still something thereand this really stresses me out, but then I know I'll be a nervous wreck until Weds...

Hi ladies, back from my hols and I've just caught up on all the news.. It's been so busy on here since I left.

Congratulations to Slink, Diddle and Spub - I am delighted for you all. Fantastic news.

Arabica - Good luck for Wednesday. I really hope you get good news.

Hellkat - sorry you've been having such a rough time of it.

Twocats - it can't be long until your wedding now - how exciting!!

Welcome to all the newbies. Hope everybody else is okay.

twocatsonthebed · 03/07/2006 16:22

gah, it's too hot to think here. Hope you're all surviving...

Slink - that's outrageous. They must have known exactly what they were doing, which makes it even worse.

Arabica - will be thinking of you on Wed, hope it all turns out well for you and the lo.

HK - same for you too, that the consultants let you go with an all's well.

mygirl - how can you do all of that in the heat. I am achieving almost nothing each day until about 9pm, as it's too hot here to walk anywhere.

Wools - hope you had a lovely time.

And yes, the wedding is on Saturday. Am trying not to panic. Fortunately the dress still fits, even though I am slowly swelling up with cellulite and fluid retention...

And welcome to all the new people.

diddle · 03/07/2006 17:27

Hello to the new people - so sorry to hear of your losses. I lost 2 babies last year, and worried like crazy through my third pregnancy. The worry will always be there until you hold your little one in your arms, and then theres a new sort of worry and huge responsibility, but it is worth every minute.
I am still amazed that my 3rd pregnancy was trouble free and i now have my little boy here with me. Stay positive and ennjoy your pregnancy, there is very rarely any reason for you to have any more miscarriages.

caitlinsmummy · 03/07/2006 18:18

Hey everyone thanks for your support!!! I have midwife tomorrow morning and i will be asking for an early scan, gp said he doubts I will get one. I am going out of my mind with worry here!!! It is so hard to be able to take it easy with a 5yr old tho. Really hope the baby is ok xx

SnowBoo · 03/07/2006 20:50

Hi all!

Nice to see new faces on here. Welcome.

Slink, that is disgusting. How low can people get????

Spub, Congrats!!!!! And well done to Mr Spub, very efficient man there.

I have now lost my ankles and have now grown out of my mat clothes! Not buying anymore as i have my stitch out in less than two weeks. Have 4 weeks to go but the way i'm feeling (and looking) could be sooner. I hope....

Well hope you aren't suffering too much in this heat!

Not much to report, just i've cleaned all of babys things, pulled ds's old pram apart and scrubbed it and have sorted out the rooms. And slowing donw on the soap.

Wills · 03/07/2006 21:08

Good luck snowboo. Am lurking but struggling to post as ds definitely will not tolerate me proping him on the desk to feed whilst I type with one hand. . Its a real bummer for my mumsnetting!

Welcome to all the newbies. I've done this sort of thread twice now (dd2 and ds1) and all I can say is that it got me through 8 months of hell to the extent that I can't leave. Good luck to everyone.

twocatsonthebed · 03/07/2006 22:16

caitlinsmummy - I had to push and push for an early scan with this pregnancy - in the end I got one by phoning up the hospital midwives and crying (not very dignified, but worked!). But also worth finding out if your local hospital has an Early Pregnancy Unit - sometimes they will arrange reasurance scans for you if you have previously miscarried (certainly my old hospital in London offered this, now I am in rural Somerset, it's not so good...)

Good luck with the appointment tomorrow

hiya newbies congrats on your pg hope you get your early scan caitlinsmummy

snowboo- wow only 2 weeks! i grew out of all my maternity clothes too i looked a right state the last few weeks lol

mygirl- you always have busy days!! you make me tired reading it all.

HK- hope you are on bedrest! i don't think you should be walking to hospital, can you not get a taxi?

i took my baby to see a really nice paeditritian this morning who has snipped his tongue tie and he did it fo free!!! dp started ringing every paeds secretary in london yesterday and finally found someone who would do it.
so fingers crossed he will start feeding better and my boobs will recover

caitlinsmummy · 04/07/2006 11:14

hi twocatsonthebed, thanks for your reply. just bk from my appointment. Asked for early scan but she was unsure whether i would get it or not!! Was not very reassuring at all about the fact i could miscarry again, also informed me i am at greater risk of having another one. So dont feel reassured at all. Still just as worried, if not more xx

caitlinsmummy · 04/07/2006 11:16

hi slinkstah, thanx. But as i said below i dont know if i will get early scan. Nhs is a joke xx

Arabica · 04/07/2006 11:21

Sorry to hear that Caitlinsmummy. It's so unfair that some hospitals have better policies on early pregnancy than others. At my hospital if you're anxious enough to need an early scan due to a previous m/c, they reckon that's a good enough reason to give you one. Try not to see the absence of pg symptoms as a guide to whether you're still pg. Lots of people on here (self included) have got upset when they stop feeling sick or think boobs less tender all of a sudden. But they can come and go.
I'm 36wks tomorrow which means I get my final scan to measure the fluid in baby's brain. Am absolutely terrified. Best result will be that they say levels are now normal and I can keep the provisional c/s date I have been given. Worst case, they say it's got to come out now for an operation as its head's got too large (sign of too much intercranial pressure). I'm scared though that something else (don't know what, just something) will be found. I know it's paranoid and bonkers but there you are.

slinkstah · 04/07/2006 12:00

twocats- omg the wedding, its so soon! how are you doing ?

arabica- eeeek! im nervous for you hun. so you might have your baby tommorrow?? fingers crossed the scan says alls normal and LO can stay put for a few weeks

caitlinsmummy- keep on at them for a scan!

Arabica · 04/07/2006 12:03

Don't worry Slink, I don't think they'd whip the baby out that fast, they'd want to wait until 37wks as they would want its heart/lungs to be strong enough to cope with an operation under GA. Well, that's what they said at King's College Hosp. But I think the paed neurologist surgeon who'll be reviewing my case tomorrow is from GOSH so they may have different ideas!

Wills · 04/07/2006 12:58

Oh arabica am thinking of you honey.
